These sales are so crusty but slowly getting better. Lord. Judging from past singles (lets not assume the worst)
Our 3rd day should maybe be 25,000.
4th Day: 15,000
5th Day: 12,500
6th Day: 5,000
1st Week: 230,000+
1st Month: 275,000 ~ 290,000+
At the rate it's looking this will be 3rd place for overall singles sold. We have to wait and see how Breakthrough does. I think if we assume the best case scenario, both of these singles will outsell OMT. Perhaps by the end of the year if we are lucky, both singles would've sold 300,000.

LurkerI'm just gonna mentally add the Breakthrough sales with the Happy Happy sales. They're a week apart, they might as well as be one comeback. It's fine if they sell less individually, it doesn't mean their fandom has shrunk or anything.

The whole pt to releasing the two songs separately and near each other was to gauge the difference between the Japanese fandoms interest in the two concepts. They might have been afraid to mature switch in Japan but if breakthrough does as well or almost as well as happy happy then they can rest assured that it'll be fine. The most objective market research.

Yeah, they've already reached 1M+ sales in 2019.
idk why everyone's complaining just because, what, they can't break the first week record? which btw is already held by them. not like they're ever breaking the first day record either. so just because they can't make sexy 300k first week it's already bad? when they're doing at least 400k in 2 weeks?

Thats clearly what they're doing. What better way to see the demand from Japan between two completely different concepts than to see the sales after releasing them in close proximity to each other. And the MVs /digitals coming out at the exact same time was for completely direct comparison purposes. Jype was obviously hesitant to take the leap into a concept change for so long, and Japan was likely what made it take longer to happen than otherwise. They'll likely judge the sales and views and streams and downloads to make determinations for the future. If its "not that deep" id be disappointed in them, because analyzing data like this is what they should be doing. It is what all these companies do. Why arent there European concert dates? Because they looked at their data about where views and sales are coming from and determined the demand wasn't high enough for it. There is no reason for these polar opposite songs to have been released together like this if they weren't looking to answer the question of "how well does mature twice sell in comparison in Japan?" with it.
