This might sound self-centered but I really don't care if she attends or not. Unless I was going to the concert (which i'm not). In sm defense we really don't know what Taeyeon requested so i can't say if it was unreasonable or not. Even if it was unreasonable I don't think it would matter cuz people gonna take taeyeon's side anyway
SMTOWN concerts aren't what they used to be. I was first introduced into Kpop cuz I was into BoA. And I went to see her at my first smtown in US in 2010. Little did I know she was part of a whole label family. I didn't know much about the other idols then but discovered why it was "SM family". I got obsessed and traveled to every smtown concert since then. I just loved the collabs, special stages, and interactions. But it's not the same now, especially with lee soo man gone. He built this family!! He was invited to attend but even he might not be there. Which says a lot. But I can't blame him if he doesn't cuz they forced him out.

nonetheless I still enjoy the performances etc. and the idols interactions don't change. But it seems like now whoever is running SM is doing smtown more out of obligation or money

I was just thinking about this! Cuz I saw a tweet that she was booked for taipei in a big venue in March. So I was thinking Seoul should be before that. ie. Either in Feb. or early March. And that the announcement should be soon?!

I hope I can attend!! I missed out on her more recent concerts

Absolutely. SMTown seems to be turning into a pure marketing event. Like one of those infomercial marathons where you get bits of each group and their music.
