Personally I feel SM always steps in when they need to. and most complaints are exaggerated by fans. SM can only do so much as a company. Like when there are incidents like sasaengs showing up at a airport or restaurant. Or a mob rushing the stage at a music show like what happen with NCT. I mean.. those are unpredictable. How is SM to control that? That's the job of the event's or airport security if anything, not sm. So the whole "protect your artists" thing to me has to be within reason. SM can't send 100 bodyguards with each idol 24/7. But... they can do something about this. Just like how SM put out a statement when Karina was getting hate before debut. But they also put out a general statement before this Taeyeon statement not that long ago. but I think people already forgotten or ignored it already.
