well.. don't know what y'all was expecting. I expected "experimental" heavy beats etc. I LOVE IT! so different than what's currently out there.

You should give it more listens. It takes a while to process but the album is solid. SAVAGE IS LIT!!

But if your more into cutesy image stuff this might not be the image and sound for you. But if you liked BM and NL this really isn't far off.

Did y'all watch the showcase? They released a Performance video. It was so good!!!

the album is good, next level sm (no pun intended) - the 2020's sm sound is defo there. my favorite song is probably aenergy or yeppi yeppi? i'll go order myself a copy asap

the song seems to be doing well on the charts so far, the girls are selling albums and a lot of mys like the songs so it's a win

I waited until this time to give my opinion, because I wanted to enjoy the release without the blacklash.

I understand why isn't the cup of tea of everyone. This is just music, and we have different taste so it's ok. But saying it's a "bad song" or "the worst song ever" is overreacting. Some people are surprised because it sounded different from the teaser....and i was like WHAT? it's the first chorus, it sounds exactly the same.
And it's funny too because i watched some youtubers reactions of NL and Savage, and they didn't like NL (at first) but they liked Savage.

That being said, I liked Savage (the song, mv, and choreography) since the first listen...and it reminded me to some NCT songs (specifically Sticker and Hot Sauce).
The pre-chorus and chorus are super catchy....that antidrop!!! (best parts of the songs for me). I didn't like the bridge....it isn't a bad (i mean, it's SM) BUT it happened the same as Hot Sauce: bridge+dance break+last chorus together sound weird (like it miss a better transition...but i'm not a musician...so just ignore me).

The girls were amazing and I LOVE that Giselle is finally being paid attention!!!

The mini-album is SO GOOD!!! I listened like 5 times in a row (those 20 minutes feel like 5). NO SKIPS.
My b-sides top is:
1.-I'll Make You Cry (not joking, since the moment i saw the name of the song...i knew it will be my fav)
2.- Lucid Dream (what a wonderful surprise...it reminds me to Moi by Lolo Zouai because of the voice distortion)
3.- Yeppi Yeppi (if aespa were to do a cute concept, it will sound like this...a mix between f(x) RPPP , BP AIIYL and RV red concept.)
4.- Iconic (the pre-chorus sounds like othe song that i like but i can't remember the name)
5.- Aenergy (the bass at the beginning reminded me to Peek A Boo)

I don't dislike any song which is a big surprise to me....

A solid album 100%...oficially i'm a MY because of the music

I hope SM improve the lyrics about the lore...i can't stop cringing with aenergy and Savage (the bridge again)


Btw congrats to the girls for their new achievements!!!

You know, I was going to say this earlier today: Aespa's music is shaping up to be a lot closer to NCT's than to any of SM's earlier girl groups.

And their performance video (a.k.a. camerawork guide video) is more similar to EXO and NCT videos (hello 7th Sense) than any SM gg MVs.

Who knows, with all this common Kwangya talk, maybe Aespa and NCT releases will converge (e.g., a joint release) at some point in the future.

It was a genuine question.

I prefer black. I think the majority of idols don't look good with light hair. Unfortunately, SM likes to mess around with hair colors and bangs. (In Red Velvet, Wendy has borne the brunt of SM's experimentation.)

Is it just my imagination, or does Yeppi Yeppi sound like a JYP gg song? It starts off sounding like ITZY, and the chorus reminds me of Twice:

Speaking of achievements.. I just checked Melon chart and they are at #3 now. So they still holding on to the top spot overnight. Let's see how it continues throughout the day

I'm glad you gave it time to process before making a opinion . Whenever a new album comes out I just turn off everything and listen to the album without any distractions.

And yes! that's what I wanted this time around. Giselle rap. I love how each time they show us something different. ie. BM was more dance, Forever was vocals, NL was addicting, savage they showed even the singers can rap.

I knew their sound and image would be totally different than any of the previous sm GG. I heard people say predebut they might be a female Nct ver. but so far I don't get that vibe. imo nct has this boyish charm with a hiphop twist kind of thing. and their music kind of reflects that. aespa If anything they are closer to f(x) with a girl crush image. again.. so far. we will see what happens in upcoming albums and cb. but think they will continues with this type genre.

I see.. it will probably pick up but you also kind of have to help initiate engagement. like me and "kim" are usually the only ones who post in the jinny park thread. but I keep doing it in hopes it will start to get other people active and join in.
