We’re literally looking at the front of her face in both videos and it doesn’t look the same the nose and eyes are different and head shape either that’s a different girl or she done had some face changes aka plastic surgery which doesn’t make any sense since that was 2 years ago when filmed and the red velvet video was like a year ago

The video is taken from the side at a higher angle, it doesn’t show her full profile like the video with Wendy which was... this year considering they were covering Zimzalabim

It’s probably for the new girl group. As talented as our girls are I can’t say that any of them are Taeyeon-Wendy tier when it comes to vocals, so they’re probably looking for someone who can fill that role. Granted Baekhyun only trained 4 months before he debuted in EXO

And before anyone attacks me, I’m not saying the girls aren’t talented or capable of being main vocalists, but it would be dumb for me to say that any of the girls we know can compare to the likes of Taeyeon when it comes to singing, because they just can’t. If SM was confident enough in the trainees they already have to say they can live up to Taeyeon’s skills as a vocalist, then they wouldn’t be holding an audition for the literal “next Taeyeon.”

I agree. Though I do love Koeun's vocal color and NingNing/Jimin/Koeun would be an amazing as 2nd main vocals I still feel like none of the girls are on the level of Taeyeon (to be fair we haven't heard everything the girls could deliver so just based on the little I've heard). That's why I thought they might be hiding their main vocal somewhere. I still feel that way. Like they have a hidden weapon.
And regarding the contest, SM is always looking for talent even if they already have powerhouses. I'm sure they were still looking for new talent when they had Taeyeon and Wendy. tbh I think they're just using Taeyeon as marketing strategy rather than being desperate to find a main vocal for their ngg. When it comes to main vocals SM always delivers so I'm not too concerned.

Agree, i think the lineup is ready, and SM is just recruiting for the next gg.

idk and don’t think so?? They have a lot of vocalist from what we seen so far but someone posted about how SM did the same thing with BoA and taeyeon ended up being like the BoA or something but yeah this isn’t anything new are alarming

I kinda knew she wouldn't debut, mostly because of her age. I know a lot of people said age isn't important, which in the real world it isn't, but rookies are getting younger and younger and the older members are starting to be 00 liners and with the majority of SR19G being 00s babies, I thought the age gap might've been a bit awkward (I know Irene is like 8 years older than Yeri, but all of Red Velvet are 90s babies so I feel like it wasn't as big of an issue) Koeun is different though because she's a late 90s baby and is closer to the other members ages than Jungyeon

It may be a bit too soon but like I said before, I believe that the group will be for the majority full of hidden girls. It’s been years since we last saw any of the rookies promoting and there would’ve been a plethora of new trainees coming and going in that time. I know ideally we want all of the rookies to debut, but we have to take into account that SM will have a lot of trainees to pick from and rookies are no more guaranteed to debut than any regular trainee
