#5 Sky Gray
This song is one of two tracks from her first full album ('1719') that is fully in English. It was a very nice surprise to get when i heard the album. Most of the time listening to korean songs, you can feel the emotion and tone, but there's just something different when you can truly grasp the words. I think she hit this one out of the park with imagery and tone. The song really has a two pronged attack. The lyrics describe many things that happen as the seasons transition into winter, the colors leaving the plants, the birds leaving the sky, darkness creeping in. But, it's obvious that the deeper meaning of the song is also from a mental perspective, that the winter can sometimes creep into your mind. Honestly, it's just a perfect metaphor and the fact that she nailed it in a second language just impresses me even more.
