I think every step counts, so Team 1 got the word right two times. I might be wrong tho lol.

Yep every step counts.

To explain how I'm giving points:
If someone gives a 100% accurate guess they get 5 points. If they are close but not 100% they get 4. If they are nowhere near they'd get less than that. If someone draws something that is far from the original word but the next player accuratley guesses from their drawing they'd get 4 points. They can no longer get 5 as the word is no longer what it is supposed to be, but they had an accurate guess anyway.

So basically points are given for accuracy. I've tried to be quite fussy with my scoring to make things more competitive

Me with drawing askjdhfaf I never know whether I'm drawing too much or too little, and the time limit makes me have a little panic so my drawings are a mess.
But I can for sure say that I may have messed up a couple of times when drawing
