GuestDECEMBER 16 - DECEMBER 22
Hello everyone and thank you for clicking on this new "In Case You Missed It" article! 2019 is slowly coming to an end, and it means that the week was even busier than usual. If you think you missed out on some news, achievements, new releases and forum updates, then it is time for you to read our recap! We hope you will enjoy it!
BY MIATHEIKONIC
MONDAY:
#1- This week started off with news from companies! Early on Monday, Blinks decided to express their anger at Blackpink's lack of releases, and gathered outside YG Entertainment to ask for better treatment for the girls. YG officials were quick to try and calm them down by saying the group is currently on tour and preparing for their new album. As for BigHit, they finally received apologies from JTBC for spreading false rumours about BTS suing them - the broadcast company admitted that they didn't check the story before airing their report. ARMYs can feel some relief at this news at last!
#2- MBC revealed more details about this year's Gayo Daejejeon! First, we learnt that the show would be hosted by Astro's Cha Eunwoo, Girls' Generation Yoona and Jang Sung Kyu. The lineup was also announced and no less than thirty-one groups and artists will perform on stage! We will make sure to tune in for Gayo Daejejeon on December 31st!
#3- The day continued with a new release announcement: ProduceX101 contestants Lee Midam and Jung Myunghoon will join forces in a new song titled "Hello Christmas"! The track will drop on December 23rd. Let's look forward to this collaboration and mark our calendars!
#4- Ahead of their upcoming comeback, Red Velvet started releasing teasers and details! If you want to check them out, you can find all of the threads here. The album definitely looks promising, as well as its lead song "Psycho" which will be performed for the first time on SBS Gayo Daejeon on December 25th!
#5- LOONA also kept themselves busy this week! After dropping their new song "365", they geared up for their new comeback and posted a breathtaking teaser featuring Heejin. We are slowly getting impatient and wish for their new release to come sooner!
TUESDAY:
#1- Tuesday started off with some news concerning actors: Song Joong Ki won't be re-signing with Blossom Entertainment and Kim Ji Won will leave King Kong By Starship Entertainment following the end of her contract. The last departure news of the day isn't from an agency - we learnt that Yang Se Jong would be enlisting in the first half of 2020. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors, and may the Se Jong serve well!
#2- On a another note, Taeyeon announced her new solo concert "The Unseen" which will be held from January 17th to January 19th, while NCT Dream added Singapore as a stop for their "The Dream Show" tour on February 15th! BTS also joined the fun and revealed that they would be performing at "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2020" in New York on December 31st! Hopefully any fans that find themselves nearby can attend these events!
#3- After the release of multiple songs this year (with another coming in a couple of days), Henry Lau announced that he would be joining the cast of Netflix's "Dramaworld 2". We will make sure to pay attention to the show!
#4- Sadly, LOONA's long anticipated comeback news was followed by an incident at ISAC, as a staff member was seen pulling Chuu's hair to get her attention. Obviously, fans were furious, and MBC was quick to apologize and clarify the situation. We hope Chuu is doing well and that similar events will never occur again! Do you believe MBC's explanation?
#5- To end Tuesday on a good note, actor and singer Ong Seungwoo released details about his official lightstick. It looks gorgeous, so will you be getting one?
WEDNESDAY:
#1- After successfully beating cancer, actor Kim Woo Bin kept his promise to fans and announced he would be returning to promotional activities! He will start by providing the narration for MBC's special documentary "Humanimal". We are very glad he recovered and is feeling strong enough to keep working in the entertainment industry!
#2- It seems like we have some good news for Neverlands! After Miyeon unintentionally revealed last week that (G)I-DLE is preparing for a comeback, we got news that the girls are actually getting ready to launch their new album in the US, and are planning promotional activities and a tour there too! We are already getting impatient!
#3- GFriend made sure Buddies will start off the new year on a good note! On Wednesday, the group announced that they would hold their 3rd fanmeeting "Dear. Buddy, #Make_a_Wish" on January 18th! We are sure their fans will have a great time!
#4- Last but not least, it's apparently time to say goodbye to some survival shows. MNET content management leader, Kang Ji Hoon, said the channel would now avoid broadcasting "audition programs" (the new name they have chosen for such shows) to focus on "music programs" instead. As we all know, survival shows have already resulted in unfortunate events, which led Kang Daniel's legal representatives to demand closure of the "Produce 101 Season 2" fan community for malicious posts. Hopefully, this decision will bring much needed positive changes in the entertainment industry!
THURSDAY:
#1- Good news for all T-ara fans! Lead vocalist Jiyeon will be making her comeback on December 26th, and she has already released the album's stunning concept photos to make sure we anticipate! Are you excited as we are?
#2- TOP Media announced that Jinhyuk would be joining the rest of the UP10TION members for their February fansign event! It's been a long time since we saw all of them together so we are looking forward to this!
#3- Hallyu+ users, mark your calendars: WJSN announced they would hold their new concert "Obliviate" in February 2020, and AB6IX announced many dates and venues for their first world tour "6IXSENSE", starting in the same month! We are sure fans will have a lot of fun at those concerts!
#4- To ensure the highest level of protection for the members of Twice, JYPE shared they would will be taking stricter security measures during the group's future schedules. Additionally, it was revealed that some =ME members were scared by encounters with fans. Hopefully both girl groups' members will feel safer in future and that other companies will feel inspired to take action.
#5- Unfortunately, Thursday ended with a controversy. CLC's Sorn posted a picture on Twitter which caused an uproar, as it showed one of her friends wearing a mask that was considered racist by many users. Things went worse when the idol chose to delete the picture and posted a new one on Instagram, which asked people to "chill". Some time later, she apologised for being "culturally insensitive", said that her Instagram post had nothing to do with that picture in the first place, and that she would take some time to reflect.
FRIDAY:
#1- On Friday, many had the chance to watch Music Bank's special episode "Advanced Merry Christmas", which featured many huge kpop acts! While many were enjoying the performances, Golden Disc Awards announced their own lineups for their shows on January 4th and 5th! Kpop fun never stops in December!
#2- It is always great to see humanitarian idols, and we didn't lack those on Friday! First, we found out AOA's Seolhyun donated 50 million won for unprivileged children while N.Flying released a track called "It's Okay" for suicide prevention in collaboration with the Life Insurance Social Responsibility Foundation. We congratulate them on these acts of kindness!
#3- Pledis Entertainment announced that Han Dong Geun has left the company, following the expiration of his contract. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors!
#4- Sadly, we found out on Friday that Seventeen's Jeonghan is taking a temporary hiatus due to health issues. It is expected to last through December, so hopefully we will see him back on stage in January. We wish him a speedy recovery!
#5- In the new episode of Produce 101's saga, we found out that the show's producer's lawyers admitted to most of the charges against Ahn Joon Young and Kim Yong Beom and denied only some of them. Let's see what will happen during their trial.
SATURDAY:
#1- Just after her album's release and schedules in Korea, it seems like CL will start promoting her songs in the US as she joined hands with Choi Jae Yoon, who is the CEO of "Kai Media" in Los Angeles. We are eager to see her expanding her market, so we will be anticipating more official news on the matter!
#2- Good news for all Buddies! Their favourite group, GFriend, opened a TikTok account to try and get closer to their fans. Do you already follow them?
#3- GOT7's Thai fans will have another chance to see their favourite boys perform, as they have added a second tour date in Bangkok after the first one sold out in less than two hours! We are sure Ahgases will enjoy hearing the group's hits live!
SUNDAY:
#1- Sadly this week will end on bad note, as it was announced that E*girls would be disbanding in 2020. Some members will go solo, and some will form new units. As much as this news saddens us, we wish the girls the best of luck in the future!

#1- HYUK - WINTER BUTTERFLY
VIXX's maknae, Hyuk, has wrapped up this year with his first solo album "Winter Butterfly" in which he incorporated all of his solo releases for this year. For the album's lead track, he chose the beautifully composed ballad, "Winter Butterfly". In this song, he portrayed the moody passing of seasons that lead to winter, emphasizing changes with his powerful voice. Have you already listened to the song? If you haven't, do it, we are sure you will like the song!
#2- AKB48 TEAM TP - ARE YOU WATCHING THE SETTING SUN?
AKB48's 5th international sister group, Team TP from Taipei, Taiwan, is gearing up to release their 3rd single album titled "Are You Watching The Setting Sun?", scheduled on Christmas day. Ahead of it they released the album's lead single of the same name, a calming song filled with cute charms of each member. The song is sure to warm you up these cold days with its sweet melody, so give it a chance!
#3- PUNCH - YESTERDAY
The honey voiced kpop soloist, Punch, released her 7th digital single, "Yesterday", this Tuesday. In it, she showed the other- barely talked about- side of winter holidays: the loneliness we all may feel. Singing about a post-breakup phase, her mesmerizing voice still managed to send a powerful message of staying strong and believing in yourself. See how she managed to persist in this heartfelt ballad!
#4- NICHKHUN - STAY IN
2PM's Nichkhun already conquered South Korea, and now he is working hard to do same in Japan. So this week he released his second Japanese mini album "Story of..." and its lead single, "Stay In". The cute song in which he sings about his loved one suits Nichkhun's powerful but gentle vocals. Everyone needs a love song these holidays so make this one yours!
#5- CL - +THNX190519+ & +ONE AND ONLY180228+
Concluding the three week long release of her "In The Name Of Love" album, CL released her last two songs, "+THNX190519+" and "+ONE AND ONLY180228+". With both being different with other releases, but still having similar elements, they served as a great conclusion to the album. While "+THNX190519+" is filled with longing and emotion, "+ONE AND ONLY180228+" is an energetic dance track, both representing the two different sides of CL. What did you think of the songs? Let us know after giving them a listen.
#6- VINXEN FT. HAON - EMPTY
The Vinxen and Haon combination never fails to deliver, so these two didn't disappoint this time either. Vinxen released his single "Empty" featuring Haon and it is sure to win you over. Vinxen's soulful rapping, Haon's powerful verses, and catchy repetitive chorus are just what we need to lift our mood in these cold days!
#7- ONEUS - 808
ONEUS released their second Japanese single "808" earlier this week. The boys seem to be using their well proven recipe for Korean success in their Japanese releases too: the recognizable powerful chorus plus the instrumentals which draw your attention. Take a moment and give this song a try, surely you won't be able to hold in your inner dance star!
#8- MEME TOKYO - MELANCHOLIC CIRCUS
The girls of Meme Tokyo are in the final stages of preparations for their grand debut, so they released "Melancholic Circus" ahead of their first single album scheduled for December 19. Contrary to its title, the song is far from melancholic. The upbeat rhythm, powerful verses and overflowing charisma of the members are just a part of the not so melancholic circus this group presented. If you are looking for a song to blast at your Christmas party, Meme Tokyo has an answer for you!
#9- SUPER☆GIRLS - POP!! POP!! POP!! & EMOTION CANVAS
For their special 10th anniversary, SUPER☆GiRLS prepared a real treat for fans by releasing songs with each member as a centre. As each song focuses on a different member, we enjoyed all the variety these releases presented. Most notably, "Pop!! Pop!! Pop!!" shows us the party spirit of the members while "Emotion Canvas" brings us a cute and dream-like experience. Aside from those 2 songs, the girls also released "Passionate Runner", "Unrequited Love of Cinderella" and "Please Stay With Me". Give these songs a listen and anticipate another week of SUPER☆GiRLS special releases!

Their previous record was held by "Clé 1: MIROH", which reached the milestone in 36 days. We are looking forward to their continuing growth!
The group also brought pride to K-Pop groups as their album "Clé 1: MIROH" was picked as "One of the Best 10 Albums of 2019" by MTV! We are proud of them for representing K-Pop on a global scale!
