Henlo Vampu, I have, but not for many years.

I did play Humankind when it came out not so long ago though, it's a spin on the Civ formula.

i see, i see! civ 5 is one of my favorite games! i've played civ 6 also, and those are the only ones in the series i have experience with

was going to use this as segue into bringing up humankind but you did it for me! LOL i just played it for the first time about a week ago

5 was the one I played, never actually tried 6, I don't think at least. What you think of Humankind? I played a couple games of it, was pretty cool. But other stuff came out, so it's shelved for now.

i haven't gotten very far in a game of humankind, but it's alright! does some interesting things, but i could complain a little if i wanted to. xD

I encountered plenty issues, complain away It's new, so I'm sure patches are incoming. (because you know, GONE are the days when games come out working as intended) I had some weirdness...

General performance issues, it gets chuggy and slow the more you progress. My PC isn't top of the line or anything, but comfortably tops it's recommended specs. I ran the new Tomb Raider maxed at 1440p 60, but a Civ variant is bringing it to it's knees apparently??? rip

I had one game where a neighbouring nation broke in to two after a revolution. The "rebels" lost, but refused to ever fuck off. So even up to the modern ages, I had a bunch of dudes with spears on horseback, riding out of nowhere and attacking my modern city... Every fucking day, they turn up on horses with sticks, just to get machine gunned by one modern unit. Issue is Humankind's combat system is one of it's weakest points, so every fucking time this happened, I had to manually go and resolve it. No idea where they were coming from, their nation had been defeated, and the map had no location shown for them. Apparently those forests contained unlimited manpower though. Fun times, love that.

Oh, but the most irritating was having to abandon a game, over 100 turns deep, because the entire map had no fucking oil. I looked everywhere, the entire world, checked everybody's trade options, not a spec of oil. So everybody reached more modern periods, and slammed to a halt, nobody could make anything. After a google it's a known bug, the resources are randomized, but for some reason oils minimum is set for 0, even though it's a hard requirement for later units.
