Nikkei reveals Japan's most popular girl groups in 2021

The 2021 Nikkei Entertainment Talent Power rankings are out!

Perfume top the list for the 9th consecutive year, once more reinforcing their unrivaled longevity at the top as they celebrate their 21st anniversary this year.
The electronic music trio released their most recent single Time Warp last year.




Also stable at second place for the ninth consecutive year is Momoiro Clover Z who have now been Japan's most popular idol girl group for almost a decade. The quartet released the single Tsukiiro Chainon early this year and are poised to release a full album this winter.




Rounding up the top 3 is the kpop/jpop hybrid group NiziU. The JYP/SONY collaboration found incredible popularity with their pre-debut single "Make You Happy" and the hype does not show any signs of slowing down.




The fourth and fifth positions are made up of idol juggernauts AKB48 and Nogizaka46 with AKB surprisingly coming out ahead this year.

The rankings are based on a national survey by Nikkei Entertainment where the participants get to answer if they know of and are interested in various entertainers.

I made this thread before the forum went down but I can't see it in the forum and the photos in the original thread had some inaccuracies so I made a new and better thread.
Note that Little Glee Monster is not included but they would most likely be in 9th or 10th place (last year's score was 17.8)
