I was considering arranging songs that range from cute to mature to fit the playlist's theme, but decided that that would be a disingenuous way of showing Twice evolution as they still have songs that are "cute" even in more recent albums. So I've decided to choose 3 songs are all upbeat, because that's what Twice quintessentially are at their core, but have some variances that would portray their musical growth.
Ho! displays one of Twice’s biggest musical appeals that has brought them to fame, and that is the positive and uplifting vibes coupled with a catchy and easy-to-follow melody. The song makes one feel happy and want to dance/sing along, just like most of Twice’s songs do, especially in the earlier eras. The lyrics are relatively simple – mainly about the feelings of puppy love and how the girl isn’t brave enough to confess, very much a representation of how their earlier lyrics were like. There’s a “shy ah ah ah” part, which I believe to be a throwback of the iconic “shy shy shy” line from their Korean biggest hit, Cheer Up.
Young & Wild - nearing the end of 2018 is when we've started seeing some shift in Twice music. The change isn’t drastic, but it's definitely there and can be heard in some of their bsides around that time, namely from the Yes or Yes album. Among them, Young and Wild has shown the most noticeable change. The song still retains the fun and positive mood that’s quintessentially Twice, but is more quirky melodically and has more dynamics than their usual upbeat songs. Lyrically, it also focuses less on the young love, but more on self-love; it goes on to show that Twice are no longer a group of timid young girls who are unable to confess their feelings, but are confident women who want to live their life to the fullest.
Get Loud is a bside from their newest mini album, Feel Special – an era that marks a clear transition into what most Onces would refer to as the Twice 2.0 sound. Even from the first note, Get Loud is, as precisely described by its title, loud, bold and in your face. The unapologetic and hard hitting energy is maintained throughout the song with no holding back whatsoever. Vocally, the girls also sound more in control and self-assured. This era is also one where the Twice members are most involved in lyrics writing and it shows in Get Loud. The song also does not focus on love, but unlike the on-top-the-world perspective that was in Young and Wild, Get Loud is more poignant and specific lyrically, as if describing an actual experience of theirs. Also, if Young and Wild still has remnants of the cheerful and “cute” Twice, none of those can be found in this sidetrack, be it in the music, lyrics, or vocal – which is why I believe it’s a perfect depiction of where Twice currently are musically.

I would choose all ballads here as my favorites since that's what I'd usually listen to, but I wanted to show some dynamics in Twice music so I've opted for a balance between personal preference and variety of sounds for this playlist.
24/7 is a hidden gem among Twice bsides for me. The song has quickly caught my attention on the very first listen for its catchy sound, but what really gets me is the dissonance between the melody vs the lyrics – particularly, during the chorus. The fun and "whatever" feel of the melody is a stark contrast to the more melancholic lyrics that express the exhaustion toward a routine lifestyle. The song ends with "But I'm okay. I like it the way I am now" - this could either be taken at face value or just someone trying to convince themselves. I find that highly relatable, which is another reason why it's a favorite of mine; because as a working individual, while I enjoy my job and appreciate my orderly life, things can feel mundane and jaded at times.
Love Line is simply here because I enjoy the song. It reminded me of songs from the second generation. Also, Twice have a lot of good ballads/slower paced songs that are underrated so I'm here to promote it <3
Hot is probably the first bside that truly shows a more sensual side of Twice. In my opinion, it is one of their most polished and well-arranged ones as well. This is not a song that would catch your attention from the get-go, as it doesn't have a huge chorus and the pitch is pretty even throughout, but it's a song that will grow on you and has high replay value.
HallyPlus

2) Chillax
3) Strawberry
For the HallyPlus playlist, I've decided to choose mainly songs with care-free or positive vibes because that's how I'd describe my experience here at this forum thus far.
Headphones is light break-up song and I've chosen it to portray my transition from Onehallyu to HallyPlus. (The actual experience was nowhere near dramatic so this is merely a hyperbole kek.) Just as the song's lyrics said, I'd thought after the "break-up" I would all be moping and not able to move on, but eventually I realized everything would be fine "as long as I have my headphones on." In a sense, "headphones" are the users I get along with since at the end of the day, it's not about a forum in its physical form but about the people it's made up of.
Chillax is self-explanatory. Everything up until now has been unproblematic here at HallyPlus for me. I'd often frequent here when I want to take my mind off from work/irl events, and just chill and have some fun aka play games.
Strawberry is a less obvious choice. The song also sounds relaxing and lowkey, but I've mainly chosen it for its meaning. According to Chaeyoung, the member who has written the lyrics, strawberries taste best in its natural form despite having "freckles" instead of as artificial flavors; similarly, we are most genuinely liked when we are being ourselves instead of someone we're not. Prior to joining H+, I was more reserved and hesitant to participate in forum's events. But now I've become more active and myself, which in turn helps me make some good friends here.

I decided to start with this song because in my opinion it represents the cute concept Twice is usually known for. I also think the lyrics are a bit ''childish'' in a way, which for me represents the girls' young age when debuting... The song has that Twice quality: A fun cute song that always makes you happy!

This is their step towards a more mature sound, something less directed towards ’’cute concept’’. Although this is a cute concept, it’s more mature-sounding while still being cute. This song will never fail to make you smile, just like Twice’s any other songs! The song is co-written by Jihyo and it represents a point in their careers when they all started to participate more in the creative process of their songs.
LOVE FOOLISH
This is the current concept Twice are doing at this point in their careers. I don’t think this is necessarily the ’’cute concept’’ Twice is known for; this more mature sound represents their newer image. It’s sophisticated, cool and trendy much like the concept Twice seem to be going for lately.

Jihyo wrote this song as a reminder to not give up on our dreams and I feel like this song is kind of mine and my friend’s anthem to support each other’s ambitions.

Playlist 1: "Feel Special"
This might be giving me away, but I've stanned twice since pre-debut, and since then I believe they had 3 shifts in their musical execution imo. Twice were so spunky yet fresh with their debut with LOA. It was cute enough to get Korea, but sassy enough for international fans to take notice. It was a great balance, which is what i think Do It Again personified. I chose Do It Again over other songs because of the simple catchiness that Twice has always been known for, while still having that semi-girl power image LOA portrayed
Look At Me - I think its pretty spot on for Twice's popularized sound. Cute, repetitive, and fun. their characteristic high pitched vocals and the addictive melody. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but i think it slaps hard and reminds me of sailor moon, so that's just another plus for moi
get loud: she's hard hitting yet chic, which is exactly how i would describe Twice's current sound. It's girl power kinda like Do It Again, but it's a lot more polished and mature compared to what the rough girls at debut could handle

This is one of two songs that's probably gonna be on everyone's list, but i cant help the amount of love i have for this song
Breakthrough: everyone's probably gonna use it, but that's just ha power. Breakthrough was so different for twice and it was such a surprise on just how damn good it is... the rap is the only thing keeping it from being a perfect 10 for a twice song. but when u serve excellence everywhere else i can look past it
Love Foolish - this is probably one of my favorite Bsides from them in a long time, and that says a lot since every twice album has that one song that i just get obsessed with keep replaying it. i'd argue she's the baddest bish in their discog. i say that but i can never say the name right, Foolish Love sounds way more natural than Love Foolish tf
Playlist 3: "Hallyuplus"
Wishing: i think this and the next song are 2 of twice's best ballads. which means a lot since i do NOT like twice's ballads...normally, The lyricism is some of their best and the acoustic sound is one of their best utilized. I wish the best for the this site and i love it so much, and i only hope the best for the future. idk how accurate these lyrics are, honestly i aint even looked at the video, but i trust colorcodedlyrics wayy more than a potentially google translated lyrics vid so i'll be posting them for the rest of these
21:19: this the other song i consider to be one of twice's best ballads, altho it has a little jazz influence. The girls all wrote the lyrics themselves, so it truly feels like a "fan" song (noah fence to other fan songs). While Wishing focuses on the future, 21:19 focuses on the memories i've made here so far and im just really thankful towards everyone for being so warm to me. I feel like every day something new an eventful happens that i can appreciate and remember fondly or for being legendary
Stuck:
Stuck is a bit more uptempo than the last two songs, but i think it still fits in well. i get giddy being on H+, it makes me really happy to have met people who i consider close friends, just like how Stuck makes me feel. It's actually interesting, Just like the character in Stuck, I was interested in what H+ would be, redacted . But before i knew it, i was dragged into this site, haven't left, and am still enjoying my stay here
