Don't deny it.

I. Know. You. See. It.

What do you think about it?

They have good songs, but some of the others are pure noise. :sejeongcry:
but if BTS keep comebacking with a similar album as Persona, then Ateez wouldn't struggle much to surpass them, musically at least.

I don't know Ateez, what is the similarity?

1. Similar music vibe (but leaning more toward early BTS) if you don't know what I mean think if it as when people say "noise" - that kind of hard hitting, banger, darkish, rap vibe.

2. They both started out as nugus in Korea but gained a lot of popularity internationally.

3. Gaining popularity out of nowhere. Like all of a sudden, Ateez is suddenly popping up everywhere and everyone's like "who? Why are people talking about them? What? They already had a U.S tour? Didn't they just debut?"

^ nor vocal neither rap tones are similar
The music is widely different as well, it's very hard to come up with songs like BTS' especially title tracks
BTS music is so distinct especially with the unique vocals and rap.
as for nugudom to popularity, many groups did so and many groups get tremendous hype on social media when they're still new (recent ones are loona/kard etc)
BTS didn't just rise from nugudom, they've become legends
Anyway, good luck to Ateez. It's good to see a non big3 group getting recognition and the boys are talented

They are really not similar except for the fact that they are a BG from a small company. Wishing the best for ateez though

I see none, BTS rise is so far one of a kind in kpop!
Ateez is doing good but there are other rookies rising and doing better!

Can't comment on the music as I listened only to Hala Hala now and that must not be enough to form an opinion. Aren't they Block B's junior group? And lots of boygroups are bigger outside of Korea (Got7, Monsta X, NCT). It's good they are being noticed and standing out though, good luck to them!

Except NCT and got7 are from big 3 (or 2 now, who knows), so they were expected to be popular internationally to some degree, and they also have decent size Korean fanbase as well. As for Monsta X, I would more compare them, except they've been around for a while and while they are popular overseas, it's not anything out of the ordinary (like I'm pretty sure even NCT is more poular than them overseas). And to top it all off, none of them really carry the same vibe in music as early BTS and Ateez.

For Ateez It's more about being really nugu in Korea and then out of nowhere shooting up to popularity internationally at a fast rate and having a dark, rap, hard hitting kind of sound - is what I meant. They are like an under dog no one saw coming.
