I will not be pulling for him, however these tall men 5 stars gotta work hard to get me to pull for them...so far the only one I have is Baizhu (and Diluc, but he doesn't count)

Wait... did they just bring Tears of Themis mechanics to the Genshin archon quest? Of all of Hoyo's games, I never expected them to draw from that game skdjsks

4.0 will be a Hydro MC crowning speedrun & Neuvilette farming patch for me
Locking his boss mats & local specialties behind the new expansion is trash though.
I dropped 20 summons from my stockpile of savings just to see where it went, C100 Bennett & C1 Lynette. I only really wanted one extra copy of her, so that's pretty decent!
Now to save my guarantee, (plus all my other savings) for Neuvilette

I kinda like water cannon hydro traveller. The city is beautiful and the underwater swimming experience is better than expected. But the lifts are too slow.

I bumped into an NPC named Wei Xiaobao (same name as the main character of a classic chinese novel). I don't like that character and tried to kill him but unfortunately we can't kill NPC.

Ok, yep. I've decided: All in for neuvi + 1 copy of Wrio & grab Furina on her re-run. It's gonna be painful to skip her though







Plus, hsr commission system got added. I think I like this system the most.
It keeps the old comms, plus also gives you the points system from hi3/hsr so that if they do add resin-locked activities (a la HSR's missions) then you can just skip them for regular dailies instead.

Popping back in to say that I managed to get Lyney in about 30 pulls. Got Tighnari in my second 10-pull and was ready to rage, but then got Lyney right after. Also managed to get his weapon in a few singles, so pretty good results! Maybe Mihoyo knows how long I've been waiting for Lyney/Lynette...

Also, Fontaine is very fun and beautiful! Felt like we were in Sumeru forever, so Fontaine is a breath of fresh air the archon quest is also rlly good (and surprisingly dark). Lowkey hope it's 6 acts, wanna spend as much time as possible with these chars

So, I ended up having to re-map my controller bc using the O key on PS5 and not having access to the camera stick will be literal cancer on that character.
I'm already suffering, and all I did was change one button >_<
every time I go to do a normal attack, I forget that I'm pressing the sprint button instead
Maybe it's time to invest in back buttons for my controller


Now onto Fontaine, the archon quest was fun! I ended up liking Neuvi's character as much as I thought I would.
I like that despite being a long-lived character, he still retains some empathy for regular humans. I was worried he might end up being Yae 2.0, with literally no empathy. Though, I like Yae for exactly that reason.

Underwater exploration is as fun as I was expecting it to be. I think I like the Ray & Crab abilities the most! Hoping that they add new animal abilities as the region continues to expand.

I'll be sitting on a lot of pulls for 4.1, so I'm going C0 Wriothsley > as many Neuvi cons as I can get (plus pls give me one Dehya). I was planning on going for the next pyro once hoyo decided to release their bi-annual pyro carry, but Lyney isn't exactly what I want: mono-pyro + Bennett/Kazuha wanter. He steals all my best team's units ;-;

I guess I'll be waiting to see if Arlecchino ends up being better. What I really want though, is a 5-star Xiangling with a better energy regen rate, but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon

Okay, so I just caught up with Fontaine's main storyline this weekend after putting off the latter half of it!

I really enjoyed it. Lyney and Lynette were not as featured as I thought they would be, tbh, but I know we'll be seeing more of them again later. I love Furina and Neuvillette! I also didn't expect Navia to be part of the story as much as she was, but she was great. I'm really interested in the fact that she's a Geo character. I might actually try to pull for her if her kit doesn't suck. In the meantime, I'll definitely be pulling for Neuvillette.

500 pulls gave me this. I was expecting to only get to C4, so this was surprising!
Still no Dehya, I swear she hates me!
I ended up with 1 Tighnari & 1 Mona. The Qiqi & Keqing I got don't count bc they were earlies. Also ended up with a copy of Fremi, so skipping Zhongchi banner doesn't feel so bad anymore ~
Never doing this again! Ayato was different bc I collected him over multiple banners, but going all out on one banner just requires so many more pulls. Not sure if I want to go for Wriothsley of Furina next, but if anni rewards are at least somewhat decent, then I should be able to squeeze one more pity out before 4.2

Archon Quest Part 3:

I finally figured out why I found that Part 3 of the Fontaine Archon Quest was so boring. It's because it's essentially just a Traveller/Paimon quest with very little interaction from any of the other playable characters aside from Wriothsley & Lyney in a small section of the quest and long gaps between these interactions. Would've been more interesting if we could interact with them more. Hell, even giving Childe some voice lines during his flashbacks would've added to the enjoyment imho.

ok, finally finished the Archon Quest!

Part 4 was so much better than part 3. They really ramped up the drama for this one! I really liked Sigewinne & Wriothesley. Refusing to release her alongside Wrio/Neuvi this patch is the biggest betrayal imho. Also, I wasn't expecting to like Arlechino as much as I did. Maybe I'm just scarred from all the bad interactions with Signora, Dotorre & Scara that I've forgotten what it's like to have a Fatui member on our side again after such a long time. Also, that cliffhanger ending was pretty neat! Looking forward to seeing that abyss whale next patch!
