There are a few reasons that combined will be damaging Bora (and other's) ranks:

One-pick voting. We can only vote for one trainee from each nationality group in this round. For Bora and other trainees, they might have been a fan's second or third pick in the group. This means as soon as the one-pick vote began, a bunch of their voters stopped to vote for only their number one in each group. I mean, I'll be honest and say I'm one of these people. I was picking Bora in my top three for K-group but once the one-pick began, I alternated my daily votes between her and two others. It's damaging to their ranks.
Bora was never a high ranking trainee. Bora's cell came in second to last for qualifiers, Bora individually also came second to last for qualifiers. She's popular enough to qualify, but only barely. Myah is the same - she's skirted through both rounds and this time, it might not be enough for either of them.
People stop voting once their favourite trainees are eliminated. Yeah, sorry. That's me. I completely didn't vote last week because I'd been so proudly voting for Tammy every day before the last round. I can't be the only one who lost motivation. It's the reason I stopped watching PD48 live too - when Choyeon and Wang Ke (my two picks) were eliminated, I didn't care enough to continue watching the live streams and just kept up to date on Twitter.

Spoiler ep 9 :

It was a sort of filler episode
They are now two girls per dorm, with more space
As predicted Youngeun and Suyeon left SNAKE team for U+ME team
I think I never saw someone being pushed that hard and so obviously. Shoot team visited her home, met her mom, wrote a message for her in her room and ate in her dad's sushi restaurant. Snake team's performance in front of the elders was basically Dayeon moment. I fell bad for her because Mnet's attempt to promote her might end up with her getting criticized and hate. It's not her fault. A good edit was for example what they did for BORA
Even some Knetz are starting to pity Cai Bing, the PD went too hard on making her bad. Yes she was not the best leader, yes it was not easy to communicate between three languages and three different cultures, but that was maybe too much. From top 9 she went down so bad and wasn't in the top 18
Xingqiao is Minju, very pretty but with no confidence. She's also cute trying to communicate mixing Korean and English
U+ME team got the best destination, SNAKE the worst one

The new rankings : the 1-1-1 vote changed the whole rank.

Cai Bing dropped out of top 18, it benefited Shana who entered the top 10
Dayeon went up to 2nd place
Xingqiao in danger with her 15th place, she was probably the first pick or she was a filler pick
Yaning is almost there, top 10
Slight drop for Yujin
No Bora. To be honest I'm okay without "main vocal". Chaehyun, if she debut, can handle it. I guess it's demonstrative of the 4th Gen groups who are more into dancing and performance rather than focus on vocals. And it's the fans who are voting.
Having a strong core of fans can save you : Bahiyyih for example

With this new ranking revealed maybe some fans will change their vote. I'll maintaint mine with Yeseo - Faning - Mashiro for now. Maybe I'll alternate with Cai Bing ?

I think there's not enough Korean audience watching the show so even with the vote % advantage for them, it's still not enough. Low key hoping more foreigners (6C+J, 3K) in the debut group with SXT centre and see how they do in the future. :judgingyou:

It's looking more and more like the opposite of what you want is going to happen. Cai Bing plummeted as expected, SRQ is starting to drop and I've seen int fans on Twitter praying she leaves the top 9, HXQ also disappeared from the top 9 even though Mnet clearly wanted her there. SXT ain't going anywhere fortunately! :LovePar:

But we'll be lucky if we get more than one Chinese girl in the line-up. 3J seems possible (we all know who lol), can't think of any other J girls Mnet cares enough about to push. I'm surprised Yeseo has been dropping - it seemed like Mnet wanted her for centre early on but not Dayeon Planet 999 showed their cards to us, she's clearly not their priority :TeaPar:

Ep 9 down

C-group loyalty going strong on Snake team. Skills wise Youngeun and Suyeon shouldn't have been the ones left out of Snake but that is how things go sometimes. Also wasn't expecting Shana to lose her spot on Utopia, but I'm fine with the girls giving Xingqiao help cause she would have a harder time with all the other songs. Shana is very well balanced and can pull off any of the 4 concepts imo and she is a great addition to U+Me. It's going to be interesting seeing how Youngeun fits this song. She did a good job with Kick It and My House but I felt like she couldn't quite get the mood of How You like that even though she sang well. Suyeon always does a great job with her expressions and I felt she did the same trying out for the killing part so I don't expect her to have any issue adapting to this concept. They pushed for a bit of revenge drama with the girls that got kicked out and the former Snake girls gave Mnet what they wanted. Shana did it more sheepishly but obliged nonetheless. This drama at least is not dragging anyone through the mud so I don't mind it. We'll see if they are setting up an underdog story or just continuing with the weird edits that set up narratives that they never finish. Shoot team wanting to keep their spots is fine but I think they could have switch Manami with Yujin. Maybe vocal one has more lines than main vocal so it's fine staying like this, but the small practice we saw Yujin singing was a bit worrying.

I like they did some more variety style stuff to fill the air this episode, but I think they could have organized it better and edited it better. Some parts and groups I definitely felt they could have used an MC of sorts. Team Snake drew the short stick and got stuck working on farms and had to perform probably the song least likely to please the seniors at the village. It was very awkward but at least they had Dayeon to sing a few trot songs so things didn't end up a complete disaster. Shoot visiting Dayeon's home was a bit weird but touching when they called Dayeon. I feel like they could have done more with that seeing how the girls also reacted to it. The relationship between a worried mother thinking of the struggles of her child working hard and the kid working hard trying to hide their worries to not sadden their mother is very relatable. Team U+Me also felt like it needed more structure. Going to a chiropractor is a bit worrying considering how it's not based in science and has cases of causing permanent injuries, but putting that aside if they had done it more like a variety show and not just filming a group going to it they could have made it more entertaining. It was funny seing the jealous faces of team Snake when they called them at the restaurant though. The dancing at the top of the skyscraper also felt a bit disorganized and poorly edited. Team Utopia didn't get the worst activity but they did get the worst screen time. I guess they were betting on more girls being afraid of paragliding but they only got to milk a little bit of Xingqiao being scared.

The interim rankings were a bit surprising but Shana said it had been only 2 days so we'll he how much things change. Did not see Dayeon climbing so high, and there was already a bit of backlash with the show focusing on her so heavily so we'll see how that turns out. Since you can't vote against someone you don't like and can only vote for other people to get ahead of her I don't foresee her dropping out of top 9 but I can see some fandoms rallying not to drop Dayeon but to increase the ranking of their favorites that dropped. Hikaru overtaking Mashiro isn't too surprising because they were neck and neck last voting, but Yurina dropping to 5th is. I did not see her losing popularity at all. Maybe it's just an early results thing. Yujin only dropped a spot because Dayeon shot up so I don't think anything changed with her. Same for Ruiqi. Chaehyun climbed 1 spot with Cai Bing not being ranked which is the early fall out of the massive horrible edit she got. We'll see if her fans can rally and put her back in the safety zone. Shana taking 9th isn't surprising because if you look at the points last voting she was placed 11th after Dayeon. Yaning shooting up is very surprising too. I don't remember anything significant happening to change her popularity. Maybe it's just because it had only been two days of voting so we'll have to wait and see. Yeseo retains her status quo, only climbing 1 spot due to Cai Bing. Youngeun with a small climb and Bahiyyih with a big climb. Wenzhe remains almost in her spot. Xingqiao with a big drop. Still not sure why she shot up so much last voting so we'll see in this voting which position she end up in. Ruan with a push that keeps her in the safe zone for now and Manami witha drop that puts her just on the edge to elimination. Xinwei once again at the cutoff spot, we'll see if she manages to overcome it again. A bit surprised Myah wasn't in the safe zone. Ririka dropping isn't that surprising because I feel like a lot of Koreans picked her up as a secondary vote but now that it's only 1 vote per group she lost the votes that carried her to this point.

I don't think the Planet Pass girls will get the push Ruan and Wenzhe are getting so sadly I think Kotone, Xinyu and Suyeon might be eliminated. Suyeon has a better chance because she used to rank higher and dropped, but that could be because of her cell. I think there is a chance Yaning drops as Korean and international votes pile up. The more the gap between K and I votes widen the more weight K votes gain and Yaning was almost entirely international votes. Sadly I also don't really see Bora or May making a push. It's going to be interesting seeing what FNC does with Cherry Bullet if they are eliminated. I don't know how big a company employees wise they are to be dividing attention with their Japanese audition show. Also depends on how involved they are in it as opposed to letting NTV do most of the work. I have no idea if Cai Bing can comeback or not. She was 11th in Korean votes and 7th in international. I don't know how many of those people are not gonna vote for her this time specially considering you only have 1 vote now. My gut feeling is she somehow makes it inside the 17 but not top 9 anymore. So my prediction for elimination would be Kotone, Xinyu, Suyeon, May, Bora, Ririka, Manami, Yaning and Xinwei. Manami gets pushed out and Cai Bing makes it. In this scenario Myah squeaks in. Yaning loses steam as votes pour in and she doesn't seem to have much Korean support. If those are the eliminated I think the planet pass is between Suyeon and Kotone. I would give it to Bora or Yaning but looking at how the masters have used it so far I think they might pick Suyeon again. This mission isn't going to have any impact on the voting considering when it ends and when the performances air.

The sports day seemed like a fun event but again hated the editing. It was all over the place and confusing. I had no idea what was going on as things moved too fast and a lot was explained in a short time. Cai Bing slipped at the start and C-group still finished 2nd lol. It is kind of bittersweet seeing the eliminated girls in this and not getting any meaningful screen time either. This could have been executed better. Makes me again miss the big idol shows though. Not ISAC though cause that show is edited even worse than this was.

A fairly uneventful episode but that is to be expected. I wish they had done a better job focusing on the girls on the variety like parts, but that isn't what gets viewers to watch. I still wonder if they are going to super charge the Korean votes for the final elimination to guarantee a more K heavy final group. I kind of feel like they have to for the group to have a chance of doing well. If the interim results remain, which I doubt they will, the final group would be a projected 4J, 2C, 3K. Better than the 2K it was last elimination but I'm not sure that would be enough. None of the K contestants seem to have huge popularity. Yujin, Dayeon and Chaehyun had very similar Korean voting numbers but they all ranked 6-8. Then you have to go down to 13th to find Yeseo, 15th for Myah, 20th for Youngeun and Bora and Bahiyyih at 22-23. If the group ends up the most common top 9 we've seen I'm sure international fans won't mind, but Korean fans might not gravitate to it. We've seen several groups that have more international fans than Korean not really survive in K-pop. CLC is basically that case.

This elimination another bunch of my favorites are going to get eliminated for sure. Excited for the performances but not really looking forward to the voting results.
