i know it's rhetorical question but mmm & bvndit for #2

does momo get a lot of lines in twice??
atlhough handong has nice vocal tone, but her vocal skill is still not at sua's level. we can see with improvement, sua is getting more lines, so hopefully handong get more vocal coaching. in china, there are even more singers with good vocals (e.g. her friend xu xinwen) and higher competition, but good for handong to challenge herself. dcc should really hire xu xinwen to do vocal coaching.

i just wanna say this in case a once comes in here. i LIKE momo. i think she's hilarious and has a great personality... i just think she sucks at singing.

Anyway, for fun i did some maths on twice and dreamcatcher's first 7 singles. As you can see Handong and Momo are used pretty much exactly the same. This is where the problem lies. Handong gets the same amount of lines as a very poor singer....who is in a larger group (!). but, i guess this just goes to my point that i think it's obvious why Handong would want to try to go back to China. Look at the WUJU girls. Cheng Xiao was liked, but the other 2 were pretty much chopped liver in Korea, now Meiqi and Xuanyi are huge there.

Regarding Momo. I just picked her out bc she's a good example of an idol that should be reserved to "I don't wanna tik tok"types of lines only, but seems to get more. Plus knetz always complain about her pronunciation and vocal tone. IMO, if you debut in a singing group, your shouldn't have to "improve" to get more lines, you should be able to hold your own from the get go. Plus this is kpop, you lipsync 90% of the time, so if you can't sing your 10 seconds of a song well 10% of the time.... Well, that's unfortunate

mmm & bvndit for their vocals. their songs are hit or miss for me

imo, idol group's main purpose is not just singing, it's combination of multiple things (singing, dancing, variety, etc), so i don't expect everyone can sing. i got into kpop because of the music (so much better produced than western and mandopop) and synchronised dancing, but i also prefer group that can sing well.

for momo's case, the song didn't take into consideration the strengths/weaknesses of the members. their music producer should have done that and make some adjustments, like how leez & ollounder use dc's vocals. jiu's sweet vocal usually don't fit dc type of song, but they made it work, and the contrast is so nice.

It's also worth noting Momo of course is main dancer. So dong is stuck with main dancer from a 9 member group lines, WITHOUT the centre time and dance breaks...

i always thought gahyeon got the least line in dc until scream & boca, cause handong was getting more lines in the b-sides like 7th july, and then djv.

i don't disagree with what you are saying. but imo, constant debuting of visuals over talent just creates a vicious cycle. i, personally, expect every one to at least not be tone deaf. and there are legit tone deaf idols. i don't think that's too much to ask for XD

anyway. not really a topic to argue here. i just wanted to point out how little handong is used and how i feel bad for her.

but im glad you brought up how leez and ollounder cater to the vocal styles of the members. DC really has great vocal tone, and DIFFERING vocal tones. just a great group to listen to

bong - from bonggu (the chinese sub means "van"). from google, 봉고차 (bong-gocha) = van
