Well it looks the mobile fanclub was also part of the management contract with Pony Canyon. It looks like this doesn't close for a couple months (August 31, 2021). Part of me wonders if they're cancelling this management contract only to start a new one with a larger company.

Also, I'm not watching the latest episode of Dreamcatcher Mind until this weekend. From the sound of things, it'll not be something I want to watch before going to bed.

Their japanese albums sold poorly tho. Not sure whether they managed to nego a better deal with another company. At this point of time with the pandemic, maybe it wasn't worth it for both parties to keep the contract because they can't do Jpn promotion activities.

Whether they renegotiate or not, I hope we at least get the occasional splash of the sound they went for with the jpn releases.

I think that your 2nd point is most likely the case. I mean, they haven't promoted in Japan for over a year now and who knows when they would again. I also think Dreamcatcher is big enough in SK now that they could probably get a larger label if they wanted to continue Dreamcatcher Japanese promotions at a later time. Pony Canyon got their foot in the door, so to speak, but I feel like aside from publishing their albums, didn't really help much with Japan activities or promoting the group.

Yeah, but like Frost said, albums sold poorly. I mean, the limited editions of their follow-up albums after their initial Japanese release sat on CD Japan forever. Like I checked back two months later one time and first press w/bonus was still available.
