It sucks that we didn't get anniversary celebration Vlive but for me it's totally understandable. X1 are gone, IZ*ONE got hit really hard, it's necessary to be extra cautious.

OTR don't want to risk any "fromis_9 celebrating 2nd anniversary amidst vote rigging scandal" articles from korean media. After X1 disbanded and IZ*ONE almost recovered, I fear next target for drama/hype will be fromis.

I don't really like fans saying that the girls are "mistreated" because we aren't getting the content we want. I suppose this is true of all idol groups, but I feel like there's a dangerous level of projection here, sort of a "I'm unhappy with management, thus my idol must be unhappy" feeling.

Indeed. Also fromis anniversary this year fall on the eve of lunar New year. Maybe fromis_9 already went back home to celebrate. Yes, they can pre-record but maybe they do not have time.

I don't really like defending companies but OTR so far have always do the best they can for both fromis_9 and flovers. Regular contents with eng subs isn't a luxury that many fandoms can boast of. Sure we might be gettinf older contents for now but peoples also need to understand the situation.


Also it is not like we didn't get other stuffs such as Romsae's ASMR, flaylist still.

I do agree k-pop fans can be overzealous and at times even harmful in their over-protection and I am honestly in the fence about how some flover are reacting to this situation. On one hand I do understand the absence by the girls because of the investigation, but on the other hand even before any news of impropriety by MNET on their audition shows came to light we already had a long wait between Love Bomb and Fun. Not to mention even if it did increase formis_9's popularity having Gyuri on pd48 was still a double-edged move. I don't think it is fair to say OTR has treated the girls poorly, but I do think they are not beyond criticism on the choices they've made with the groups promotions. The girls have been doing better every comeback, and increasing fanbase and popularity little by little, and the huge gaps between releases is not a good move. Obviously the one we are in now can't be helped, but the one before that was entirely unnecessary. Unless something with the girls that we don't know was the cause of it, I see it as a big mistake by OTR.

I don't think trying to get a pity party ever actually helps a group. Korea only cares about popularity and even though they will engage and show support for groups that trend some kind of sob story they won't buy their album, become their fan or actually show up when said groups comeback.

I understand fans frustration because there is nothing we can do to make the investigation end faster and the girls to be able to promote in Korea, but I just am not sure if this strategy actually helps.

Make sense, IZONE's comeback was end 2019, so fromis_9 probably would've have a comeback early 2020

Never said they aren't allowed to voice whichever opinion they have. Just that I disagree with their point and don't think it will accomplish the result they desire.
