Yes i think this is true. All those who might purchase an album will have done so in the first 2 weeks. There's more money in filling concert halls and promoting abroad.

And I don't know what to think about this. Girls get Wons, so it's great, new ( two!) dorms, etc. But on the other hand, c'mon SouMu, try one more time, give them something (promo), so they could get back to CFs. Because these Reebok (from TFTML) and Hyundai "cooperations" doesn't count as pure CF for me.

Well he need to live with his face reading ability as a job lmao-- but interesting how they read most of the things gonna be much hyper after this. Not that I believe in everything they said, but interesting to see if they could achieved as what's been told.

Why they will only promote for 2 weeks?

Spoiler: Long thoughts so I just spoilered it I guess LOL

Bad timing on SouMu's part when it comes to scheduling. Their next tour stop is Singapore on the 20th so there wasn't much time to promote if we also want to leave time for their concert preparations, having a short break before their tour resumes again, etc.

I feel like one thing I notice with all these short promo songs (Summer Rain, Sunny Summer, Fever) is that they are all songs that have some aspect that is 'risky'. Summer Rain is their slowest title track and coming from Fingertip and Love Whisper, it was a risk. Sunny Summer didn't have their usual knife-like super difficult choreo and I think we can all agree that it's more on the chill side in comparison to their summer hits MGT and Navillera. Lastly, I don't think I need to go into detail about why Fever is a risk but for the sake of it: evidently new concept 'passionate sophisticated', tropical house is not trendy anymore even though Iggy did try to make it more interesting (and I think he was successful in that aspect to some degree), song does not scream 'GFriend' as much as their other tracks even though the vibe is there (some Buddies like that and some don't), instrumental chorus, etc. I think maybe SouMu purposely made all of these songs part of 'buzz comebacks' so maybe the risk and any impacts of it would be reduced since it's not a full-blown comeback and promo period. Songs like TFTMN and Sunrise, while different in that they are more mature feel safer in terms of how on-brand they are with GFriend. TFTMN and Sunrise just scream 'GFriend' and are undeniably part of their passionate meloncholy songs which started with Rough.

BUT anyway, that's just what I think is going on with these short promos and the songs they chose to promote during a short promo period. And I guess as the girls are maturing as a group (they're literally going to be a 5 year old group by the end of this year), SouMu is just focusing on fandom because I mean, everyone knows the public is fickle and they only stream but are less likely to buy the album. It's the fandom that will buy the albums, merch, go to concerts, etc. SouMu needs that if they want GFriend to last long as a group. So far, that seems to be going great because the fandom keeps growing every comeback which is a good sign

I think it is likely the case. They seems to put a lot of effort to secure most of SEA region venue for their Asia Tour. I'm not gonna talk about the concert itself, but seeing them pushing the girls for the concerts, I don't think the girls have much break to even promote Fever for long. But I'll be grateful and worry at the same time if SouMu decided to prolong the promotion period.

In the case of not having rest, I think I can safely assume that the girls only fairly rest during their trip to Kuala Lumpur (they didn't seems to go out from the hotel for sightseeing at all). And they were noticeably tired during their afternoon showcase for press/media. Seeing this, I really hope they gonna have a lot of rest before fully focus on their tour.

Anyway, I'm glad to see a new peak of album sales, growing fandom despite having a non-trendy song as title. I want to see them grow more, and yes, possibly more airtime on TV shows and commercials.

Not so much GFriend but more on SouMu- anyone know if we've got any info about SouMu trainees aside from Hyunbin, Minguk and Kaho who went on Produce? I'm just curious if there are any potential trainee candidates or known trainees that may have worked with the girls or company in some shape or form (Eg: back up dancers, etc)??

Once Sinb said it was her favorite comeback, but then she had to change this recently. Idk how Source manage the girls on what to say in front on cameras but they are idols in the end, so I can understand that. But Source is missing a good oportunity to expand the fandom.

I guess Source Music is cautious about angering the current fandom in case it backfires and the amount of fans they lose is higher than what they gain. There was quite a bit of backlash during Fingertip. Personally, I would never trade Fingertip era for anything because it gave us such a top tier mini album (one of their best imo) and was such a fantastic era styling-wise as well. Similarly, I saw a lot of Buddies divided about Fever. Some loved it and others disliked it because they felt like it lost GFriend's uniqueness. But that said, their album sales this era are doing amazing SO they must be doing something right LOL. Unfortunate that this era will be so short.
