"Music Bank" asserts that IZone isn't limited or banned from appearance​

CP of "Music Bank", Kwon Yong Taek, spoke out on the audience's request regarding IZone's appearance on the program.

On March 30, in KBS' corner of replying on audience's request, CP Kwon Yong Taek shared, "I would like to clarify one thing that IZone is absolutely not removed from other KBS programs. In fact, a variety show on KBS sent an invitation to IZone and I also knew the group planned to appear in it."

First, CP Kwon requested the audience's understanding, "I hope I have your understanding for the fact that I could not respond to you immediately. This is due to my concern that unlike my intention, my explanation could negatively affect the future activities of IZone. Since the group has ended their domestic promotion, we would like to explain the real meaning behind this decision, as well as asking for your understanding."

He said, "KBS has never included IZone in the list of artists who are limited in appearance. In addition, the production team of 'Music Bank' has no right to restrict or ban an artist from appearing. Such authority can only be exercised through the consideration process of restricting artists' appearance made by the production and deliberation departments. And in previous feedback, I made it clear that IZone was not listed among these subjects."

Next, he added, "The decision of the 'Music Bank' production team is to give IZone one and only chance to appear during their comeback activities. Excluding controversial matters this time and only considering the reality, IZone's management agency asked the "Music Bank" production crew to let IZone appear in 2 episodes broadcast on February 21 and 28. However, the production team only cast them for the February 21 episode."

CP Kwon Yong Taek said, "Letting the restricted subjects appear on television air even only 1 episode is unacceptable considering the current system of KBS, and at the same time, creates logical conflicts. If this is let to occur, the entire production department and managers will have to take responsibility. Many viewers questioned why IZone, who are not restricted subjects, weren't allowed to appear in the February 28 broadcast. We understand and respect the goodwill of the fans - those who always want their favorite artists to perform on the beautiful stage of "Music Bank". Unfortunately, not every singer that is promoting their new music can appear on the stage of 'Music Bank'. Casting is the process of inevitable selection and exclusion among groups."

Finally, he concluded, "In particular, the content of this answer does not express the intention to limit or ban the appearance of IZone on 'Music Bank' from the production team, given that we have that kind of authority. Therefore, we do realize that we have not given you a satisfactory explanation of IZone's absence from our show. We hope that we have your understanding on this. I would like to thank the audience for your love and interest in "Music Bank". Many viewers have shown opposition and concern over the decision to cast IZone for an episode during the group's promotion for their comeback. As the CP of "Music Bank", I want to quickly answer the audience, but I hope I have your understanding for the fact that I could not respond to you immediately. This is due to my concern that unlike my intention, my explanation could negatively affect the future activities of IZone. Since the group has ended their domestic promotion, we would like to explain the real meaning behind this decision, as well as asking for your understanding.

Although the answer we gave on February 20 was to respond to the two contradictory petitions, namely <Petition No.1655: Protest against the appearance of the group formed from manipulation, IZone, on "Music Bank"> and <Petition No.1659: Require to guarantee IZone's activity at KBS>, that response was mainly to explain to the audience who protest IZone's appearance that the group didn't violate any casting regulation. ("According to KBS' own regulations, those who cause social scandals or commit crimes are considered to be subjects whose appearance on television air will be restricted. Up to now, IZone has not violated any provisions of KBS' regulations. Therefore, the group is not included in the blacklist." - the production team's answer on February 20).

On the feedback explaining that it was impossible to impose restraining order from appearing without legal grounds, I was shocked by the paradox when tens of thousands of people criticized the station that "Why do you guys restrict IZone's activities in such an inadequate way like that?" In the position of the employee who prepared the answer, I feel my heavy responsibility and want to apologize to everyone. When it wasn't just one or two people who understood the feedback in a way that we limited their performance, my expressions must have been unclear or certain details must have been misleading.
