I love girls, so I created this thread with the purpose of tracking all standard CD sales by modern era girl groups, their respective sub-units and solo artists. If you find any mistake, please don't hesitate to correct me. I'm pedantic as hell and I need this chart to be as complete, accurate and clean as possible. My sources are Gaon for Korean albums and Oricon for Japanese albums.

Why are you only including sales from 2010 onwards?
Gaon was created in 2010, and I'm not interested in tracking not-Gaon Korean sales. For the time being, at least.

Why are you including singles sales?
This chart is meant to track all CD sales, irregardless of how many songs are burnt on 'em.

Why not Hanteo?
I don't fuck with demons.

Can you also do a chart like this for boy groups?
No.

Alright! Migration has been completed.

So, the chart has finally been cleaned and updated all the way to Gaon May 2019 and Oricon week 23. Artists who debuted in 2007 have been added as well, at last!

I'll start working on adding 2006 debuts as soon as I have some free time.

The chart only includes Gaon data for Korean releases. So it's missing partial sales from their older albums (released pre-2010).

To keep things fair, only Oricon sales of Japanese albums released in 2010 onwards are included as well.

Does this really make things unfair to anyone tho? Or the even more important question: is it being "unfair" or not more important than having the most complete list possible? Complete data >>>> "fairness". I feel like the list should simply include all releases that actually have a verifiable gaon or oricon sales number attached to them. Don't penalize Japanese releases just because Korea didn't have a proper tracking mechanism for the longest time. Otherwise its just an arbitrary exclusion. Thats my 20 won.

Ah okay. Honestly I never even thought you were going to go so far back, you're being more completionist than I ever imagined. I thought you were just going to go back to start of 2nd gen aka have BEG be the earliest group and call it a day.
