just watched the pocari performances and ngl....it was a mess.

Mina and Dahyun were absent but their voices were still there, which means they're on backing track. Now, there's no problem with using backing track, but then they're using hand mics (which is commonly used when performing live) so you begin to wonder if they're lipsync-ing or singing live. For me, the moment I heard Mina's voice, I already judged it's lipsync-ed. Which then makes the whole hand mic thing awkward. If it's so obviously lipsync-ed they should've just used those head mics thingy so they can focus more on the dancing.

Second thing that made it a mess, is the choreo. Obviously, they never tried to adjust their choreo to adapt to the missing members. They just pretended like they're still there. But to the audience watching, it looks messy and imbalanced. Gone were the amazing formations and bedazzling synchronicity. But in their defense, they're very busy people so it's not worth practicing a whole new set of choreography just for a one or two performances.

In conclusion, Twice can only be perfect as OT9. Remove even just one member and it falls apart. One for all, and all for one.

And it's not like they had time to adjust the dance and rearrange who to cover the absent members.

They literally just came back from Japan yesterday (memorising Happy Happy and Breakthrough) and is in the midst of their concert tour (memorising all dance moves of all their title tracks + special stages).

Why should they stress themselves over for just 1 event?

is it live? or lipsync? tbh i don't really care....but with a backing track so loud you can hear Mina and Dahyun's voice clearly, it barely makes any difference (to the audience) nor matters whether they sing live or lipsync. Not like this is a concert where you pay big money to see them perform live anyway. If they were singing live, they should’ve just preserved their voices for their concerts. If they were lipsyncing, they should have lipsynced all the way and use head mics to focus on the performance.

The point is...they’re at their best at ot9. Imagine that mina and dahyun had solo activities and this is how Twice will perform their songs. They may actually make new choreo to fit 7 members, but the magic’s just not the same

anyway, is that event even important? i don't know if it's worth going to amidst their busy schedules. It will just open up more opportunities to get sick.

LOL. Did y'all forget that they are Pocari's CF ambassadors? I don't get this whole "is this xxx worth it' bit. It's probably in their contract that they have to perform for Pocari sponsored events. Otherwise, why else would they be hired to do their CFs? They had to perform at the Kookmin Bank concert as well when they were doing the KB CFs. I'm pretty sure that's pretty much standard for idols and CFs.

They can easily stop doing these concerts by not doing any CFs. But then, some people are advocating they lower their OT9 CF fees so that they can do more more CFs (and therefore, more of these concerts as well). Not sure what y'all want, tbh.

Aww... Dahyun is not feeling good as well. #GetWellSoonDahyun I hope they get enough rest before their next concert leg.
The girls look so cute in a blue skirt school girl outfit. They look so pretty and lovely!!! They did well despite Mina and Dahyun's obvious absence. It was kind of mess because most likely they didn't have time to adjust the choreo to fill the gap of their member's absence just for one time 10 minute show.

Momo had to perform with a broken toe some months ago, Jeongyeon with a eye patch because of an infection, Tzuyu was said was under the weather weeks ago, Sana was having a hard time because of hateful lies, not an easy time for Twice at all.

Nayeon performs with a left leg that was hurt in an accident years ago, and Jihyo having surgery in her knees, both seem to be fine, doing an amazing job regardless of their circumstances. Chaegyoung, we might not know if she have had any health issue, but, we know she is always there to cheer her members up.

All Twice members I admire, appreciate, and support, for all their hard work and dedication for their craft and fans alike.

Nope. That's you reading more into my comments than is actually there. Whatever is negotiated in the contract for Twice's role as Pocari ambassador is compensated for by their fee, which none of us know, so none of us is in a position to say whether one is at a disadvantage to another. My point is that the CFs are just part of what is expected of them. Performing at Pocari-sponsored events is also part of the contract, so neither are they "not worth doing" nor are they "additional shiz." It's not as if it's "We pay you to do a CF, but you have to do all this stuff for free." Hollywood artists get paid to act and perform on screen, but they're still expected to promote the show (interviews, talk shows, red carpet appearances, etc.) as part of their fee, even though it's clear some of them rather not do it.

exactly, which means we don't know either if they're really being compensated. And let's admit it, K-pop idols are taken advantage of by these companies all the time. And how much compensation do you think Pocari is willing to pay Twice to insert this event within their busy schedule? Do you think Pocari would be willing to pay Twice a very high amount? What if Twice members get sick due to exhaustion from the event? Do you think Pocari would claim liability and accountability? Do you think they'd compensate Twice for that? You know how companies work, what do you think?

That's a poor analogy. The better analogy is Marvel paying Robert Downey Jr to play as Iron Man and expecting RDJ to show up in Comic-con and perform to promote the movie, which is honestly absurd and unbefitting of RDJ, no matter how much Marvel will pay him. The most RDJ will prob do with a 1% probability is showing up for 5 seconds to wave and Marvel has to pay him a big amount for that.
