I'm pretty surprised tbh ...this is like the first I've seen a kpop GG member showing them off so openly (granted, I barely follow other groups so pardon my ignorance) She has a least 4?
Have a good trip girls!
Chaeng proudly showing off all her new tats

Red Velvet’s Yeri also has tattoos. Two iirc, one in her fingers and in the back of her neck and she doesn’t hide them either. She’s really good friends with Chaeyoung so I’m not surprised.I'm pretty surprised tbh ...this is like the first I've seen a kpop GG member showing them off so openly (granted, I barely follow other groups so pardon my ignorance) She has a least 4?
There's several out there but they've been in it longer like hyuna, amber, snsd members etc. But its definitely a rarity if we're talking current top GGs. I know mamamoo members have some visible ones, and yeri like mentioned, although id say hers is pretty discreet in comparison. In general I don't think theres too many that would be willing to show it off like this so freely, but Chaeng has definitely shown she's not the usual kpop idol when it comes to stuff like this(even moreso for a top tier gg).I'm pretty surprised tbh ...this is like the first I've seen a kpop GG member showing them off so openly (granted, I barely follow other groups so pardon my ignorance) She has a least 4?

I know Once age demographic is mostly around 17-30. Is it really ok for J-once or K-once if chae has 4 tattoes now and now she is openly show it?
well at first i am really against it bcs it maybe will hurt chae image around general public but i think im already accepting it now. Just want her to be happy and true to herself. But still kinda doubt about general public view about tattoes

Alright, everyone - got a long one today. I had some free time, and what better way for me to spend it than to work on some Twice-related language exercises lol. This article came out several days ago, and I have to say, it was by far the most difficult translation that I have done up until this point, due a lot in part to the diction and the figurative phrasing. I hope I did it justice - in an attempt to maintain the actual meaning of the text but also the nuances and feel of the writing. If any Korean speaker out there can give me feedback on it, that'd be really appreciated.
Anyways, an interesting read nonetheless... here goes...

[FOCUS] Twice, Top Girl Group Becomes Artist
by Lee Jehoon
Long-lasting idol group popularity [presents] a conundrum without answers. That is the reason why so many idols flicker away. There exists a solution. Among boy groups, BTS would be an example, while among girl groups, it would be Twice.
Twice is a girl group put out in 2015 by "reputable girl group house" JYP Entertainment, which is headed up by Producer Park Jinyoung (47), Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and "girl group expert."
Twice received attention for breaking away from JYP's preexisting colors. Top group Wonder Girls' retro [style] was overwhelmingly influential in the latter half of the 2000s decade, and Miss A, who rose quickly to the top with debut song, "Bad Girl Good Girl," differed even with their acrobatic performances.
Four years in, this year, and widely acknowledged, they are worthy of the moniker, "top kpop girl group." This team, which has enjoyed explosive popularity beyond Korea and in Japan, recently toured around North America, gathering 41k fans. It is a splendid achievement that was obtained particularly without special promotions.
Some consider Twice to have hit an inflection point. It is because the members are experiencing ups and downs. Mina (22) is taking a break from activities due to health issues. It has been revealed as truth that Jihyo (22) is dating Kang Daniel, originally a member of project group Wanna One. Momo (23) was also engulfed in dating rumors with Super Junior member Kim Heechul (36).
Naturally, if one were an idol who is exposed to the public, these are growing pains that one must pass through. It is like a bit of a shake for the sake of safely entering into orbit or an atmosphere that one must surely pass through for the sake of a soft landing.
In the early stages of their debut, Twice put forth color pop that was integrated into their debut song "OOH-AHH하게." Bright and buoyant while also energetic, the color of the music permeated like this into the members without wrinkles [t/n: "read seamlessly"].
They were the representative group for "teen pop." Through music targeted towards teens, they obtained the absolute support of that age group. They even got a nickname that highlighted their lovable personalities: "Teudoongie-deul." The nine members' looks were also highlighted, as one can see in the flourish, "pretty kid next to another pretty kid."
It was their 7th mini album, "Fancy You," which was released in April of this year, that began to show signs of change.
The title track, "Fancy," which was composed and written by Black Eyed Pilseung, creator of Twice's signature hits, and Jeon Gun, was different from their previous songs. It is a "mellow mood pop" dance song, balanced by trendy sensations and elegant flute sounds.
The ambience of the lyrics and the also the mood of the stage have changed. The provocative and overwhelmingly charismatic image of Twice, one that we have not been able to see in the lively Twice [thus far], together with lyrics such as, "who cares if who likes first" and "I am coming to you now," deserve special mention.
[This paragraph was particularly tricky to translate and I am not sure if I got down all of the details in exactly the right way. So, just letting you all know that.]
On the other hand, however, some have lamented, "Twice now has a sexy image!" But regarding "sexy," it is not Twice's breakthrough. Just doing the things they have done up until now alone, a group hits flat. But it is a kind of declaration/pronouncement and challenge not to stand only in that spot.
Even at Twice's concert you can go and check. In May, Twice members demonstrated the height of their sexiness at their concert that was held at the KSPO Dome Olympic Gymnastics Arena - "the sacred site of idol concerts." This was so with Strawberry, which showed off scarlet outfits and sensual movements, and with Sana, Dahyun, and Tzuyu's cover stage of Beyoncé's "Dance For You."
However, the [electric] current came not from the body of the audience, but from the mind/heart. The axis of Twice's world shifts. It is like so, that they mature and develop.
Twice, currently at the top of the idol industry, may have manifested through the desires/ambitions of a large management company and the public. They stand as a representative icon that sweeps up all of the things that the public likes and wants to see. This can be confirmed just through excitement in dating scandals.
However, the times when idols are consumed merely for "entertainment" have ended. Beyond cultural affairs and beyond positive messages, they wield social influence. I was once reluctant to put the phrase, "artist" in front of an idol group. It is the reason why now it has become natural [for me] to do so.
If the public stresses too safe/stable an image for Twice, the radius of their activities narrows further to such an extent. There can nothing for them to do but to have their freedom of expression and the depth of their message be limited.
Now, the nine members of Twice are replacing their dreams of fantasy with their dreams of vision. They are even shaping their own world views.
This is not a conversation applicable to just extraversion or music style. Even though they have written lyrics in the past, they have started to put their own thoughts out there wholeheartedly. Just looking everywhere in recent album "Fancy You"'s lyrics alone, one can agree.
In "Girls Like Us," which drew attention for having the participation of British pop star Charli XCX (27) in the composition and arrangement, Jihyo added lyrics with substance like, "when your dream encounters moments of frustration, do not blame yourself or give up, and let us face it."
Jihyo introduced, "It is something that the 23-year old me wants to share with people who feel that they want to give up while they are facing challenges to their dreams."
Chaeyoung wrote the lyrics to the song entitled "Strawberry" because she likes strawberries. However, it is not just simply about strawberry, the fruit. She explained, "However much strawberries are processed/manufactured to be delicious, it is impossible to catch up with strawberries' natural/true taste. It's a story that asks/requests to love one as you really are."
Recently, "Kakao Friends Twice Edition" came out, with the members even working on the planning and design. Twice collaborated with the Kakao characters, "Kakao Friends." Twice members participated in the product planning and design process.
It is a similar case to BTS' participation in the production of the BT21 characters. Through BT21, BTS has expanded their own world view through to daily life and extended the breadth of their relatability.
Hwang Seonhye, director of the Korea Creative Content Agency's Japanese Business Center, [whom we] met at Tokyo Dome, made sure to point out that Twice has become the envy of Japanese teens. She said, "Twice is who Japanese teens want to copy when they want to imitate adults." Following Twice has become a way to express adulthood/maturity amongst themselves.
There exists no person for which growing up is easy. To idols, who have to show their growth [lit. age lines/tree growth rings] to so many people every single day, that process can be more brutal. The hot sun of midday is impossible to avoid. Dreams and experiences that can endure in the night and in that stinging can be created. In that way, Twice has become an artist who knows the day and night of life.

Im happy they are really put so much creative input about their career. I think it must done step by step from just writing lyrics & choreo input > design merch > maybe produce some b side tracks > and final maybe produce tittle tracks.
Its still long way i believe but i am wolling to know how they will grow as artist. We know in korea idols are basically not treated like "artist" unless they are already prove theirself.

This really shows that she is a true free spirit. I guess the general public should be able to accept it. Her tattoos are pretty cute and do not look like the more traditional type of tattoos that are often associated with criminal organizations.
How come it feels like I am watching a pair of newlyweds embarking on their honeymoon?
My new parentsHow come it feels like I am watching a pair of newlyweds embarking on their honeymoon?
Looks like Momo is no longer satisfied with food prepared by others. I think she is becoming a true gourmet and I can imagine her opening her own restaurant in the distant future!

They still live together. When dispatch did their report on Jihyo, they mentioned that she still stayed in a dorm, something they have no reason to lie about.
They might not sleep at the dorm all the time, as I'm sure the Korean members probably go to their parents house a lot, but other than Jeongyeon and Seungyeon's shared apartment, none of the girls have their own places.
