I am not too familiar with Gaon charts. Do they count the sales of the reported month (1st July to 31st July) or do they count the sales using the time between their reports? 77k in just 3 day would be insane!

There's a large difference between the hanteo #s (currently 37.4K) and the gaon (77K). This probably is partially due to stores being overstocked. Of course there will be sales from stores that are not hanteo certified also. We'll know next month if any additional units ship out.

There's a large difference for the recent Red Velvet album ReVe Festival Day 1 too. 86.8K hanteo, 182K gaon

Gaon just counts albums that the distributor ships out. This will include albums that are sold as well as unsold stock at stores.

1st to 31st of July, "three days of sales" isn't correct because you have to consider the pre-order period

Hanteo isnt real numbers. Nothing to do with overstocking. Youlll see if they report returns if they dont the albums arent sitting on shelves obviously. So moral of the story. Itzy did that. 77K is amazing. Maybe this album will reach 100k in the next three months. I can see 125K with the next album

With 77K, we underestimate the prediction of 50K 1st month Gaon. This only mean MIDZY fandom is growing fast.

77k theyre already right in the upper echelons. Almost overtook yeoja chingroup. We can basically consider them tied for #5 gg already since while their physical is just under gfriend, their digitals are gonna be like #2 for all ggs this year just behind twice. They are gonna be knocking on RVs sales next

For comparison, RV's red summer sold 78,846 copies in its year of release, not just first month. ITZY just essentially matched that, on first month, vs a RV album that came out on their 3rd year of existence.

Dalla Dalla was already their breakout hit basically, we'll see what its gaon index will be by the end of the year, and see how that compares to Bbom Bbom for example, since that was definitely near "national hit". Regardless though, why does ITZY need a national hit to overtake RV? If ITZY sells more copies per album as RV, and has higher gaon digital index in a year as RV, then they've surpassed RV. We don't need arbitrary "they need a national hit" rules, hell Izone has already blew dafuq past RV and their songs dont even chart well. RV's non 6 version including member specific versions albums hover around 100k sales each, with the highest one around 110k. ITZY will probably get 100k gaon first month on the next comeback, unless being a repackage gets in the way of that, hell, ICY might even hit 100k by the end of the year, and if not, soon after. RV hasn't had a hit song in a long time, and have had a lot of duds. They're also nearing 5 years old and have hit stagnation in growth while ITZY is new and fresh. Its not a matter of if, its a matter of when, and the when is quite soon. Within a year would be the conservative estimate.

They're HODL'ing pretty damn well. After the first couple days when the song first came out it was hard to know where it would end up. Would it stabilize or would it go full "really bad boy" and freefall divebomb? Week 2 better than week 1 is pretty great.

I don't think theyre gonna add 23K gaon in a single month. I don't even think Twice has seen that in the first month after first month, but I may be wrong. Remember the date that Gaon gets announced vs when the album comes out doesn't really matter too much. It kind of irks me when I see people talk about Gaon and say "THATS JUST 3 DAYS OF ___". The orders from stores, which Gaon tracks are made months in advance. The only thing that a week extra would add for example would be some restocks here and there. But 23k is asking for a lot of restocks real fast.

All of them were released towards the end of the month soo

Even TSB sold 17k in the first month, 17k in the second month, 14k in the third month, selling 49k in 2015, and now has 180k. If our fandom keep growing, surely IT'z ICY will sell 50k for the whole year 2020.
