What's going on with idol group music this entire year has been super bizarre, and also what with melon and other charts being called out for potentially being unreliable or rigged. Why would Twice's UL's just divebomb down so far, but then even with far lower UL's they can still be #2 or 3? It makes it feel like fewer people are listening to music in general, or they're moving onto some other platform other than melon.
Maybe the YG scandal just killed most non kpap fans casual interest in Kpap.

LurkerIts easy to be high on realtime after release because people checking out the song and stream the hardest, but right now Feel Special is 7th on realtime and it keep dropping. Twice UL's divebomb becuase of the concept change. You can't expect general public that listened to Twice bright and uplifting songs to like their more mature releases if they don't like that type of music. That's why Fancy UL dropped from like 760k to 500k in one day, becuase people wanted song like DTNA or YoY, but they didn't get that, so they just moved on and the same people didn't came back for Feel Special release.
hmm i agree. these songs are just not as good as their 2018 songs imo

LurkerI mean i get what you're saying but you know..it could just be something as simple as people not liking the song and the concept change. Personally i listened to Feel Special once and that was it, it's so forgettable and doesn't feel like TWICE at all, if anything it's more nugu than anything.
I just hope that JYPE is actually looks at the results for this because it would be sad to witness another SNSD 2.0 decline.

The song isn't good. Imho. I mean I said it upon release and I saw many other Once saying it too before it even debut on RT.
So if even many Once dont like it you cant expect most of the Korean GP to just enjoy it cos its Twice.
I mean what results do you expect when you bring in novice or out of touch producers? CollapsedOne is the only guy on it fit to be producing for Twice rn.
JYP hasn't a clue what he's doing musically and is only good for lyrics, which are great on FS, but lyrics alone dont make a song great.
Ollipop has shown in his previous releases that he's not a successful or particular good producer/composer and its show here once again and the other lady on the credit I'm not sure if she has ever produced a title....

This opinion is interesting to me since this year is my favorite from them music wise. I like that they are experimenting and trying to push forward away from the rut/ genericness that was really starting to show in their title tracks. Its obviously not guaranteed that every song will be a hit but I'm happy that they are going forward.
But i do agree that this isn't my favorite title track of theirs sonically. We shall see where they are going to go in the future as trends change, digitals fall and physicals look to actually be rising.

Like Fancy. I think it was one of Twice best. BEP killed it imho. Top draw, but Feel Special? Nope not for me. Furst time I have not liked a Twice title.hmm yeah the song was bad...but so is fancy...so i don't think it's the producers' fault

The song is fine, and the issue is kpop-wide as basically no GG has had a song do better this entire year other than ITZY with dalla dalla, Fancy and this song are by no means bad, that isn't it at all. Its just super strange how idol music has dropped as a whole this year. I don't believe it has to do with the concept change, its not like the Korean GP gives a shit about concept or whatever, they just care about the song as it plays on streaming services or when theyre out in public, and the fandom obviously has gone nowhere.

I agree. But it's not only the public, a lot of Once you have to remember fell for Twice because of their music first and foremost. Moving away from that will always have growing pains.
It's difficult because the members have dropped many hints or even just came out and said it that they no longer want to make music like they used to or can't relate to their older releases which is slightly alienating to the Once who love them for that old stuff and could enjoy and relate to it.
I feel like Twice is moving away from a sound that was genuine to them as a group or concept and a lot of people loved for it being distinctively Twice in favor of a new style that feels in many ways could belong to any other group.
It's tough because this is the music the members want to be making right now so songs that are a bit polarizing like BreakThrough, Fancy and Feel Special are going to have a tough time. It's just how it is.
