I' not really surprised with that to be honest. Niziu have actually been promoted in Japan this year, in fact just had a TV appearance a couple days ago and got several other big promo slots this year, including NTV Music Day with a lot of huge acts there like AKB48, Keyakizaka46, Generations, King & Prince, Lisa, Perfume and a bunch of other huge mainstream Japanese acts as well as a bunch of Kpop groups who are interested in growing in Japan too...BTS, 17, Txt.
But for reasons unknown Jyp has basically done nothing with Twice in Japan for nearly 2 years. All we get is a 2 minute stop at Music Station and a small morning news medley....so I'm not surprised other groups are doing better.
On to the point about Dinga and it probably doing better than ICSM and the initial charting being garbage, the only thing I can say is Twice, due to mismanagement and a complete lack of vision from jyp, they have experienced almost complete brand death.
They are basically nobodies from a certain point of view, a memory of a group you used to listen to, but maybe not anymore. Jyp's fear of promoting Twice like other companies do their main stars has led to disinterest from the public. In their eyes Twice have been doing the same cycle for 5 years now and the brand power they had was never truly given by the members but instead by the songs being constant hits and stuck in the publics ears.
When the hits dried up and nothing changed from the company or promo style they were basically forgotten. Yesterdays news.

Chart updates.
Melon Unique listeners were 193k, although it may appear like it's in free fall the UL's only dropped a few and hopefully as promotion continue it can stabilize further for the coming days to weeks and potentially even grow.
It fell 4 spots on Genie, but has been climbing slowly for a few hours, it's currently at 5. It's also been back in the Flo top 10 since 19:00Kst. So fingers crossed.
As for day 2 sales Eye's Wide Open recorded Twice's biggest ever day 2 sales and overall 3rd highest selling day on Hanteo only behind M&M D1 and EWO D1. It's also in 2nd place for 1st week sales too with 197,252 copies sold so far.

StanJYPE should find something to launch ICSM into the Melon top10, I think public will pick it up here.
2015\2016 kind of viral moment will be nice, or big show appearance

Do you know if they have any TV spots? Left? The only thing booked according to Misa is Amazing Saturday but following that I don't think they have anything scheduled. I feel like they are sort of in limbo with variety this time since they only just went on Running Man and they kind of can't go on Knowing Brothers, I don't really know where else they can appear to boost the song.JYPE should find something to launch ICSM into the Melon top10, I think public will pick it up here.

My hope would be 1 or 2 members on a totally off the wall choice for Twice, some show were it's not just idol fans watching, I think that could be a good choice in general just to show a new side to the and tap into the wider population.
But I think Knowing Brothers would obviously see a huge ratings boost, esp' if they didn't holld back, but at the end of the day K-Once are quite....fragile. I don't think they could handle that.
For example a lot of them didn't want Twice to go on Radio star since the host is known for being a bit of a dick and asking tricky questions to kind of set up the idols, so I know a lot of K-Once just didn't even bother, I could only imagine they would implode at the thought of Knowing Brother lol.

I Can't Stop Me rose today a bit on the charts. Stayed at 8 on Genie daily but went up 5 places to 28 on Melon. It's also holding firm at 8 on Flo.
It's daily UL's were 186k which is almost a 10k gain. It may not seem great but that's only about 18k away from breaking top 20(highly doable) and about 100k from entering top 10, which is unlikely but not impossible with better promotion and a bit of luck.
Possibly the music shows helping out, but they also had Doremi Market today and the Season B Season video was trending number 1 on Korean Youtube so probably helped a lot.

Maybe, who knows. It's risen a little and even if it stabilizes what I have noticed even songs that linger low on the chart tend to hold position much much longer than pre-reform just due to newer songs struggling to enter...so the longer it stays in the top 50 the more likely it is to climb. It probably wont.Hmmm, so shall we give up on rising after promotion thing already?
but I will be hopeful, after all Korea is a big place and having only 200k UL's makes it very very hard for me to believe people think the songs sucks, More & More I can believe since so many people checked it out on D1, but come on 200k? People ain't even listening on Melon to even know if they like it lol.
It's such a fucking good song and on western forums, Twitter and Korean forums like the Qoo and shit almost everyone is saying the song is good...like what the fucking fuck? Why is no one checking it out lol.
But sadly according to the schedule it seems Doremi Market was the last booked variety show which sucks since that show isn't actually very popular....so how people will see the song I really don't know.

NuguMaybe it will rise. Maybe it won't. Hopefully they still have promotions on variety shows next week just so the song can reach a wider audience cause no one really watches music shows in Korea anymore. And the song is definitely good so I hope at least that this era can get them more fans.

I think it will bring in new fans internationally for sure, everyone seems to like the song and the album is very well reviewed also.Maybe it will rise. Maybe it won't. But I'm sitting here at Misa's twitter waiting for news for more variety show bookings lol. I'm not sure though, usually the schedule is updated by now so I wouldn't be shocked if Doremi Market was the last thing we get.

StanThe Japanese comeback MV is probably dropping towards the end of next week so they'll probably switch to that soon. Will be the classic avoidable overlap which results in neither getting the attention/promotion they deserve as is tradition with JYPE when it comes to Twice.
Getting a b-side promoted was an unexpected surprise - though they've neglected b-sides for so long that no-one cares about them in SK. Looking at the likes they get on Melon these days I don't even know if the K-Onces listen to them. They only last in the Melon top 1000 for 2/3 days.
I don't know how else they can get listeners for the title track unless something goes viral as they have no more promo. There's no official tiktok challenge. No more variety. M&M had 700k listeners in the first 24 hours, ICSM has not passed 220k, that's near five hundred thousand people give or take that have not even been exposed to the song yet which is crazy.
Twice aren't a few months in from having a big hit still in the charts to help with listeners (i.e BP with HYLT), the fandom to drive them up on their own/international achievements to get them in the media (i.e. BTS) or the luxury of releasing during a quiet time which would give the song more time to settle and pick up listeners (August/September/early October releases).
Popular artists are releasing every few days at the moment. Im Chang Jung the week before, Jang Beom June 2 days before, Paul Kim the day after, Mino, with Bol4 and MMM next week that will definitely push them down at the minimum for a few days.
As a 5 year anniversary and 2nd full album, with the label surely seeing M&M/FS both not do well digitally I wish there was more thought to all of it. They must have seen that Twice would need more promo/innovation/focus in SK this time around to help get some momentum back there so as to not lose the key market more. Twice have worked harder than normal to essentially learn three choreos to give us a b-side performance (a great one at that) but there'll be no pay-off as no-one is caring to check it out, which is down to the promo/the company. Twice did their part and delivered like they always do.
It feels like M&M had more behind it promo wise domestically and internationally which is odd when this is the full album

Yeah and on this point I would say with the lack of booked TV appearances and no Tik Tok challenge(for god only knows what reason) ICSM is almost solely reliant on someone other than Twice making it go viral or get attention, since they don't have the platform to do it with the current promo. kind of like IU and Dolphin. The Japanese comeback MV is probably dropping towards the end of next week so they'll probably switch to that soon. The thing is today I read that it passed 400k listeners and had more than double the number of streams M&M did at that UL milestone so that sort of anecdotally tell's me it's possible that the people who are listening to it are actually repeating the song and possibly liking it, where it seemed for M&M a huge portion(I think it dropped about 50% of it's UL's in the first week) listened to it once and never again.
So it's a shame.

Stanbtw the ending scene in ICSM MV kinda suggests repackage album.
Honestly, at this point I don't even know whether it's a good idea or not.
Hoping for TWICE's "psycho".

NuguICSM has the replayability (idk if this is an actual word lol) factor that M&M doesn't, imho. I think if we have people listen to it, most of them will like it. The choreo is also good and fun to watch. We just really need a good platform to advertise the song to casual listeners in the hopes that they can be turned into fans. This is why promotions in shows with wider reach is really important and I hope the company still has plans for that. We can't have the standard 2-week promo we're used to having.Yeah and on this point I would say with the lack of booked TV appearances and no Tik Tok challenge(for god only knows what reason) ICSM is almost solely reliant on someone other than Twice making it go viral or get attention, since they don't have the platform to do it with the current promo. kind of like IU and Dolphin.

Off topic: Can I just say that even though the girls prefer the nine or none thing for activities,it really wouldn't hurt to try at this point to promote projects as a solo or unit. This could increase the core fanbase altho it would potentially mean more solo stans.

Yeah I think a re-pack may happen too and December is the most likely time. It feels like a good while since a Korean album was re-packed for Twice. Was it Year of Yes in 2018? I think it's a double edged sword though and a risky move from jyp(that might actually be worth the risk)btw the ending scene in ICSM MV kinda suggests repackage album.

I know if yet another thing to buy will piss the fandom off since that will mean Twice had a major release in every month in the 2nd half of the year, but at the same time December and the 1st 2 weeks of January are actually the weakest/emptiest time on the charts.
Barely any big music comes out, not many new shows are starting so OST's aren't a hug threat and other idols tend to avoid the x-mas period to maximise fans free cash that is often wrapped up in the holidays, so it's kind of a straight shot at number 1 you'll usually be competing with October/November hits.
So yeah you might piss of the fans but if the song is a hit they'll quickly forget about it. the risk is though if the song flops all you've done is added another pointless thing for exhausted fans to buy.
Agree with the solo stuff, even if it is only solo stans it still helps a lot. But what I would rather than just solo songs or something is some of the more charismatic members getting solo gigs on TV or variety between comebacks. I think this is the most helpful to keep the group in Korea's eyes even when they are away.ICSM has the replayability (idk if this is an actual word lol) factor that M&M doesn't, imho. Just look at Suju, I think Heechul and Shindong being a constant presence on TV is what has given them huge longevity or recently Hyori and Rain have returned to being a-listers in SK and their musical careers are thriving again thanks to getting back into TV over the last few years.

StanI hope these videos of the song aren't going to keep coming out like Itzy's million dance practices. that really added nothing but probably made JYPE think they were promoting the song well and sufficiently.

NuguYeah. They need someone to be a mainstay of a good variety show to keep visibility on the group even during non-promo periods. This is what was common during 2nd gen era but with youtube and social media blowing up for the past years 3rd gen groups aren’t into the whole variety thing anymore. On a side note, it would appear that ICSM is actually rising on the charts slowly so we’ll see how it’ll fair in the long run.

Yeah, I wonder if it was the video with Rain helping it rise? I doubt it was Amazing Saturday since that never really helps Twice much. But it's been steadily rising since the video was uploaded and it trended on Korean YT at number 1 for a couple of days.Yeah. I think things like that are the future of promoting. Keeping it on SNS/YT with some TV spots in between. JYP has a big platform for that, they've already established and 8+m YT channel pretty much only for bonus videos, the issue is JYP needs to not be so insular, things like TTT are really good for the fans but don't do much else.
Imagine with the reach of 8m subs Twice having videos but also collaborating every now and then with other idols or celeb's in Korea I think it would be such a good and easy way for Twice to still keep doing what they are doing, but at the same time bringing in new eyes to their content.

Rain’s show probably helped since he’s pretty relevant again this year in SKor. We need more exposure like that to get the song out there.
Have you seen the album sales so far? I think it’s only lagging behind m&m now. Other groups’ sales seems to have grown exponentially this year tho and we haven’t caught up.

The sales for the week are 245 and some change. Roughly 85k down on More and More. Little disappointed but expectant. They need to find a balance in producing content that will keep the current fans happy and activities that will expand the fanbase.

I think others grow a lot for easy to lock down reasons. Simplest explanation other groups are just growing more. Other reasons are just less content to buy. Also more focus. 17 for example have promoted in Japan this year on TV a couple times and went to NTV Music day, BTS promoted in Japan and the USA multiple times and BP have done the same with multiple TV spots in the US and solo work in China. t's the same situation for NCT.
But Twice? They don't promote almost at all in Japan anymore, a 2 minute token slot on music station, which isn't even a relevant show anymore, that's it and that's only with Japan stuff. With Korean comebacks Twice do nothing in Japan and they are trying to break into more ifans but also don't promote in the US either? Like what?
Could you imagine other groups ignoring their core markets like Twice does? Not a hope. Imagine YG never sends Lisa to China again or Big Hit doesn't bother with US shows for BTS....it just wouldn't happen. But JYP? Nah, barely gives a shit about Japan, barely gives a shit about buyer fatigue, doesn't bat an eyelid to fans saying release less and promote more. Ignores core markets but refuse to promote in new markets....
Another thing to say is groups like BP have 7 versions, with multiple being something unique and cool like Vinyl's and Cassettes and boxed versions. What about Twice? 3 hardcover books again....doesn't exactly inspire the 'must have' feeling. If they don't fix these issues the sales will never improve.
