tbh y'all it seems like Mako didn't make it...none of the girls in the preview are blonde and the previews rly only focused on Rima and Miihi and JYP trainees, I still have some hope though because she was in the showcase which took place after the auditions and if I was her I would of left after failing-

Japanese TV show preview of the 1st episode. Watch it fast because knowing Japan it will be taken down very fast.

Very interesting. We can already see the front runners. Seems like this group will be more K-pop than J-pop and nothing like J-idols. Very exited to watch the episode on int's entirety when I can. Specially since I don't have to worry about shady editing.

some thoughts on the clips i've seen so far
- tough to see nina, miihi, and rima NOT making it unless they botch up the training period somehow. they'll debut somewhere just a matter of when/which group. almost wonder if they would be better utilized as part of the next kpop JYPNGG but i guess they would want to debut sooner
- miihi has a nice soothing vocal tone
- rima did well but appears a bit tense
- seems like the group will skew quite young if the core members i expect to make it are only 14/15 now

What people found about Nina Hillman the American girl that has been in Japan for 2 years(?)

According to the link she is from Seattle. Her Japanese surname is Makino (牧野). Full name 牧野仁菜. Says she speaks French too. In 2017 she passed an audition by Amuse a big talent agency in Japan. She had a part on the movie 血ぃともだち. Worked as a reporter for NHK E TV variety show called Suiensā. Was in the movie Shiba Park.

Her old profile. Lists that she can sing, dance, play piano and ski. Born February 27th 2005. Is 164cm (5'4 1/2).

We'll see what ends up happening. I can see them not making it because JYP has other plans for his trainees and the American girl turning this into a solo career in Japan. There is a long way to go a lot can happen.

I think you could tell all the girls were super nervous and that this means a lot to them.

The group seems like it will be young. It works in Japan, not sure it would work in Korea. Japanese idols usually are around this age, even younger. This won't be a Japanese idol group though but their first audience is already used to younger performers. My guess is they'll debut a group with an average age of around 15/16 after the show and all their preparation are done.

Some girls seemed like they have vocal talent but are all very raw. Nina seemed the most polished one but still has some improving she can do. I wonder if JYP will focus talent over image, the latter being what he normally focuses on. Doesn't seem like it, but I haven't watched the show yet, just going by the few twitter clips.

I assume so usually when an mixed person in Asia says they're half-American they mean white American + her appearance is that of a typical (but v pretty) white/asian person (she lowkey looks like svt Vernon's little sister imo)

I hope so! It'd be p obvious favoritism if they only aired like half the contestants auditions. I think it'll be first half auditions next half start of training camp and end on a cliffhanger like how the second episodes of Produce are
