I think that Korea is having another wave at the moment or did it already go by? I remember reading something about it a couple of days ago, but I will be honest I am not keeping very in loop with these news ^^;;
It is limiting for most of them right now. No concerts- which means not income from the concerts for the companies, and it also means no live interaction with the fan. So you can only do so much and very little. It is a nice period to relax for those who worked hard, but if they are used to working and also having a routine of their own - it must be strange and very weird. And it took me quite a while to find a routine under the pandemic because not doing much is awful.
I am actually surprised that we didn't get any SNSD or Taeyeon's solo for BoA's 20th anniversary. You would think they would have given it to us!
Secret Number's YouTube views are doing a lot better than most of the nugus though, but it seems that their company is serious about them for now and the girls keep doing appearances - so I'd not be worried too much right now. I am actually glad that it seems like things are working out for them (since I like Lea and Jinny). The only thing that makes me sad about that company is how they silently disbnaded S#aFLA and never gave fans any update about what happened to them. So this is what makes me a little bit wary about Vine, but then again so that's how most of the groups disappear without any announcement.
featuring Taeyeon!
Sorry for the late reply! Idk why I stopped getting notifications for this thread It says I'm still "watching"
But to answer your question.. .yes... I think most of us are experiencing a 2nd wave. my state just went back on lockdown and we also just extended till Sept. 23 hnah: I know it's necessary tho. although, it's a temp. solution. Hoping for a vaccine soon cuz I think that is the only way to really slow or get rid of this. a lot of people still not taking precautions.
Anyway... I'm surprised and not surprised about not getting any release for snsd anniversary. Now we know the pandemic did affect a lot of things. Taeyeon is now releasing new Japan mini album and I think it was scheduled to be released earlier during her japan tour (cancelled due to covid). And BoA said she was planning on concert (cancelled due to covid). But she did say she is preparing for new music. So yeah.. still a problem.
Also.... did you guys see this ?
So... no SNSD on the schedule. however, that doesn't necessarily mean SNSD won't release anything. Obviously cuz Taeyeon is set to release a Japanese Mini Nov. 18 as well as a ost in 2 days.
I forget ... why I mentioned Secret Number etc? Lol. I guess we were discussing affects of the pandemic and new debuts right? Well.. I know my girls will be back soon. and judging from this schedule... I hope it's not in Nov. cuz BTS, Kai, Shinee, Ikon, Twice, it's gonna be a war. Oct. would be better. They also mentioned they would make more than 1 comeback by end of the year so I'm thinking Dec. as well. And if that schedule is correct. They can overlap with Bigbang and the girls can be awkward next to them. Lol. Oh! I think you mean Jinny and Denise (not Lea?) cuz they were YG trainees. But who knows... I doubt BB will go on music shows.
You know... I never heard of that GG ShaFLa? from Vine? but seems like a lot of people have? idk the exact reason for their disappearance. There can be many reasons. It could be they decided to give up on them and focus on SN since they weren't going anywhere etc. But ... who knows. It's probably safe to not make assumptions since no one exactly knows. also not much can do about it now. maybe down the road a former member might say something on their youtube channel etc. Lol. but sometimes we can't trust those either cuz usually some of them are just salty.
We currently have no lockdown. Even the children are allowed to go to school. XD But the second wave is hitting with way bigger numbers than we had before. And there are already so many school-related cases. Please take care of yourself, alright?
I know that a producer I posted above on his twitter teased that he is working on a song for SNSD and I want to cross my fingers that we can have one! If not now, then at least early 2021? That would be great. I just hope that it is not left for SM station (which sometimes they do.. I guess it is only because I want more than one song) or they don't end up giving the song away for another artist. SM has a tendency to do that with their history when one song is made for one and somehow they end up giving away the song for another one.
I just miss SNSD XD And tehy should have made a comeback shortly with Lil' Touch to give audience more after how they well did it. Like a repackage single or mini?
But November seems to be packed and strong line-up O_O Wow! Hope they all do well. Also, excited for Onew and I wonder what kind of a sound they are heading for with him.
Since you mentioned Taeyeon
XD I think Secret Number came up randomly in our conversation before, but I really don't mind talking about them since I liked their debut and I have at least 2 biases in the group
I am just a little bit wary of the companies when I see that they have thrown one of their groups away in the past with no announcement. But this is the history of so many groups. SM is allergic to the word disbandment as we already know it. Most of their groups have gone on 'hiatus'. It is just that I want for their future groups to be handled better and for the company to have at least a better communication with the fans
ShaFLA lasted from 2018 to 2019. They have silently disbanded in the end of 2019 (as we all have assumed it as fans). After the group stopped celebrating members' birthdays on their official accounts and all the members (beside Yujin) were unfollowed by VINE Entertainment. I think Vine wanted to concentrate on Secret Number and probably saw no income being made from ShaFla, just my guess about what happened. This group featured Ujin from D-UNIT,, Jisun from Girl's Day, Yena from 1PS and Seulki was a solo artist before. Hope that they are all doing well and don't drop out of the music completely.
Either way, Secret Number seems to be doing very very well. Not every single nugu girl group receive so many reviews on YouTube based off of their debut and Indonesian fans are very invested thanks to Dita. I believe that Vine can do well with them!
oh... you not live in U.S.? but yes.. stay safe too! even if not lockdown and area is not bad as other places... keep it that way
There was always Sone talk on social media saying snsd or OhGG would make comeback. But with the pandemic it's really hard to say what they had planned .. what was delay.. or not. I also think them renewing their contracts played a big part in it as well. It's like Deja-Vu. When they released HOLIDAY many blamed SM for not promoting it but I feel a big reason was because they were in the middle of renewing their contracts. And it's not like you can push forward with promoting something if there is a possibility of members not renewing etc. Which.. ofc we found out 3 members didn't renew. So what would be the point.. right? And same with this year's anniversary. However, this time all Oh!GG members renewed. So now they are free to planned ahead.
I feel a lot of people would feel that way cuz of the timing with Secret Number and the end of ShaFla. However, I don't think it went that way. Cuz if people knew how SN was formed it wasn't planned out years ahead. And they weren't even planned to be a group. Things just kinda fell into place. Some of them like Jinny and Dita were trainees of Vine. Denise didn't even have any plans to become an idol or a trainee of Vine. She would visit Korea to see Jinny cuz they were close. That's how she met the other girls. After she finished high school she had a meeting with Vine and things kinda just picked up from there. I followed their instas about 2 years before their debut so I kinda witness how things came together for them. They would always talk about it on their lives. And when I saw the first photo of them all together at a cafe I instantly thought "omg... this would be a super group! Lol. Cuz they all pretty... each had their own charms.. and most of them were bilingual or spoke more languages. And I'm sure Vine noticed it too.
Also we never know... maybe the members of ShaFla decided on their own to stop. A lot of former idols do. they just discover idol life is not for them.
