Predebut promotion would be great, like SNSD "Girls go to School". But I doubt it will happen lol

Red Velvet members were shown in SM Rookies promos in early 2014. The SR14G teaser (Be Natural), with no mention of "Red Velvet", was released 16 July 2014. The teaser for Happiness, with the first mention of the group name, was released July 27, and the Happiness MV showed up less than a week later on August 1.

In retrospect, we really didn't know who was going to be in Red Velvet until the Happiness teaser came out. Prior to its release there was so much speculation, a lot of which turned out to be wrong.

idk if they're really waiting for her but it is true she's graduating in february since school year starts in april I believe. I personally think they won't debut before at least march so it could be possible

Let's talk concepts! What do you guys expect/want to see from the girls? I'd take a guess that they are going to be similar-ish to SNSD but maybe a more fantasy style? I'd honestly love a dark alice in wonderland concept but I doubt sm would take that risk

I would die if they debuted with a RnB sound or a sound like GI-DLE's Uh-Oh that's reminiscent of the 80s/90s hip hop. But that's just wishful thinking.

I like the sound they have now that’s part of the reason why i started liking them in the 1st place just based on the shining star songs they have done it’s not kpop groups out now sounding like this I think it would be a waste for them to do some dark or gidle esk it wouldn’t showcase their vocal ability like why does everyone want dark stuff from gg & bg so badly

I think it would be more of a shock as well as it might garner attention to see a girl group that is doing a concept that's not so innocent right off the gate. Personally I feel like concepts that are not exactly "pure" and frilly, such as GI-DLe's Uh-Oh or f(x)'s 4 Walls or IZONE's La Vie En Rose, allow the music be to be more involved? I'm not sure if that makes any sense.
But I see what you're saying! Debuting with a innocent concept will allow them to grow musically. I wouldn't mind if SM decides to debut them with a song similar to Into The New World.​

They’ll probably have a similar concept to SNSD, Bubblegum pop style.

But I hope that they’ll have a twist with it. Twice For example was cute and was similar to SNSD but their songs were upbeat and had different genres mixed together, and it did made them standout compared to the rest. Their songs are enjoyable + have that happy feel among it.


R&B wouldn’t probably happen because Red Velvet already mostly makes songs with a R&B style. And I don’t see them having a Gidle or dark concept, a lot of GG’s are doing it or have a Girl crush concept so if they even debut with a innocent song; they’ll stand out because there aren’t a lot of GG’s debuting with a innocent sound this year or last year

You're right! It would still be a bit cool to see a girl group whose title track is a 90s RnB or modern age RnB song.

Now that I think I about it, I can also see them doing Closer by Oh My Girl sound.

Oooh. From what I've heard of them in Shining Star, yes, I think they have the voices to do a Closer-sounding song.
