True, but given the fact that she was promoted only recently and we now know a girl group is coming next year, chances are they've had the lineup ready for a while now. Plus if anyone can remember the PrePix trainer supposedly working with a new SM girl group; which further indicates that SM has had the group finished for a while now. Basically what I'm trying to get at is if SM were to promote any girls this year, the chances of them later being revealed in the final lineup is high, because what would be the point in showcasing trainees so closely to the next group's debut if you don't plan on having them in the lineup?honestly i feel like even Jimin isn't a completely locked in member

Honestly, I'd like to believe all the girls have a decent chance of making the final line-up giving the previously mentioned PrePix thing and how long the lineup's been decided for I feel like the girls would have just quit and opened private accounts by now if they didn't make it... I understand the concern about Jungyeon but I don't think she would be dropped just for her age I mean it's not like boy groups where she'll have to enlist. The only reason age matter in gg's is physical appearance and public perception and SM is already known for debuting older trainees and Jungyeon has the babyiest and baby faces so she doesn't look out of place either. I could see her being dropped for a younger trainee with similar charms but if not I think she's safe.

agree totally. def the line up has been decided for some months AT LEAST. considering this, it's weird to think that some of the rookies left, there is not 1 single public account...Honestly, I'd like to believe all the girls have a decent chance of making the final line-up giving the previously mentioned PrePix thing and how long the lineup's been decided for I feel like the girls would have just quit and opened private accounts by now if they didn't make it... Agree.I think realistically speaking most of the Rookies will make the group, but the only known trainee I personally can confidently say will 100% debut is Jimin and that's only because she's the most recently promoted girl under SM. The Rookies (+ Jungyeon) haven't been seen in anything SM related for 2+ years now, which doesn't mean they won't debut, it just makes it harder for me to fully believe they'll definitely debut. I'm fully preparing myself for the majority of the group to be new girls

Fortunately, I have a strong feeling we'll see more content from the Rookies later this year heading into 2020. This will give us a good idea of who is or isn't debuting. I expect that they'll officially reveal Jimin and a few new girls and we'll see returning Rookies being re-introduced. As for Jungyeon, in the past, I thought her age might've been an issue but considering Irene debuted at the same age, I doubt it'd be a problem. She also has a youthful look to her anyways so her "looking too mature" for the inevitable cute concept won't matter.

Anything can happen. we will prepare for more news incoming if whoever will make it in final lineup. Even not sure if it will be more new girls and 1-3/4 current members or few new girls and 5 current members.
If rumors said lineup is shocking because will change on members and position then it's possible.

Ik but I think if any of the girls were to switch they'd be snatched up p quickly and given that the line up was probably decided months ago I think kfans would notice if one of the girls started coming in and out of Starship or something + Jungyeon already has an account she'd just have to make it public which would be a good idea if she wants to do more acting/modeling although it could be possible she's laying low until the other girls debut so she's not bombarded with questions like Herin. Like others have said I'm prepared for pretty much anything when it comes to the lineup I just think ppl write Jungyeon off too quickly when there rly isn't that much more evidence of her not making it than anyone else.If trainees leave, it doesn’t always necessary means that they’ll open Instagrams. As for concept SM gg's don't rly fall into simple categories like cute or girl crush rather they have a general concept that gives them room for both. Girls Generation's concept was to represent women and girls so they did both first love concepts as well as sexy ones, f(x) was experimental so they could do fun songs like hot summer and intense stuff like red light, and obviously Red Velvet has two sides built into their concept. Although with Itzy as their main competitors I do agree their debut will be more on the cute side.

Am I the only one concerned about the news of the new boy group? I'm worried SM will later decide to debut them first then delay the girl group another year which sounds stupid, but it's SM we're talking about here. On one hand, I imagine they'll say something like "we want both groups to win the male and female rookie of the year awards" as damage control for all the people confused as to why they want to debut two new groups in the same year. Also, do we know if it's an actual NEW group or will it be a new NCT unit? I'd prefer the latter ngl

At first I thought it's probably just a new NCT unit but then I thought why wouldn't they just say new NCT unit 2020 instead of "new boy group." Or maybe they want to be secretive about it I don't know. And honestly they really can't delay their girl group another year. That's just too much. 2020 was already the latest. I do think they'll probably debut in the 2nd half and the boy group the first half based on their history of bg and gg debuts.Am I the only one concerned about the news of the new boy group? I'm making a prayer circle for Koeun to get in. I'm going to be seriously devastated if she's not in the group. Still can't believe they've confirmed a debut. I thought we'd have to wait till next year to hear confirmation. But maybe this could mean they're going to try to do some predebut promotions later this year so they're announcing the confirmation early.

They specifically said “a new Idol Male and female group”. So it is indeed a new boygroup. And knowing the debuts of their Boygroups and GG’s, they’ll first debut the boygroup and then they’ll debut the GirlgroupAm I the only one concerned about the news of the new boy group? Unless they pull a the Grace when they did debut first before Super Junior.
We'll gonna find whoever it's the girls or boys will debut first when official news come.

I have hope the girls are gonna debut first, just because: EXO-RED VELVET-NCT...NCT was the last group and it's a boy group
and that without counting SuperM, so right now it's time for a GG.

I hope that if they do delay one of the groups, it will be the boygroup. If we're being objective, it would be the best decision as the boygroup members are most likely slightly younger than the girls and no one is anticipating them. Actually, I think that most people don't want a new boygroup, I haven't seen one single positive opinion about them. I don't think that a lot of people will mind if they debut first (I know I won't) but if they push the girls debut until 2021, that's another story and the nbg & sm will suffer a lot of backlash and may be boycotted.
But I honestly don't think they will push the girls debut. SM probably thought about this for a while and if they think they can manage 2 new groups in 1 year, then it means that they explored all of their solutions and that they are confident in their ability to do so. Now, they may be wrong but that's something we won't know until they debuted both of them. SM isn't YG, when they say something they do it most of the time.
It also isn't the first time in SM's history that they are debuting 2 groups close to each other: The Grace and Super Junior both debuted in 2005, and they debuted snsd in 2007, shinee in 2008 and f(x) in 2009. And all of them (except the grace but I think it's a special case) got a lot of success, some more than others but I don't think it has anything to do with their debut year.
So I'm really not worried, I would be more worried if they wanted to debut 2 girlgroups the same year. Boygroups and girlgroups target to different audiences and I know they will give a good song to both of them because it's not like if the nbg could take the best song and let breadcrumbs to srg, as boygroup songs are different than girlgroup songs. Also, even if the nbg get a higher quality mv, it's not like if SM was a small broke company, they can afford a nice one for the girls. Finally, to end my essay, The kpop event thing that teased sr19g was supposed to be in october but they pushed it until march. The only reason I can see why they pushed it is because they want the girls to come to the event. So I think we have chances to get their debut before march, or at least to get a group name before march, get a predebut activity at this event and get their debut in the 1st half of the year so probably before the boygroup

I'm being really positive when i think they are gonna have some kind of promotion because it's been a while since SM announce a GG's debut with so much time ahead.
