It's about the choreo. I don't use tik tok but I saw a lot of MYs talking about the song being popular there (people did lots of covers). The more videos from the concerts appeared, the more people (even outside the fandom) used UP for covers. Then the choreographer promoted it too and the rest is history. With the digital release, now other will jump to the trend of dancing it.

it is starting to grow on me.
And yeah. I think that girl from weeekly is the first idol I've seen cover UP. There were some other people I saw on social media covering the dance choreo but they were more influencers not idols. although they look like they could be idols themselves.
