My ranking is:

General: this time in particular, I prioritized songs I never heard before over familiarity. Also how on theme a song is. There were some nice songs that were either too vague or didn’t fit the theme from my POV, so they were low for those reasons.

Nonsense - Sabrina Carpenter - on a normal day, I'd definitely prefer Perfect and That's So Us, but one was too predictable and the other I've heard and expected to see, so this one ended up edging them out. it's cute. it's playful. it's on theme. to my playlist it goes.
Capable of love - PinkPantheress - first time listening to this. i really enjoyed it. It was a grower for me. lyrics feel relatable *adds to playlist*

I might need to dive into Madison's music more because I had no idea she made bangers like this! Every game feels like an adventure, as the competition fuels the fun, drawing you closer with each moment. Would you believe me if I said that Love Dive is my favorite IVE title track? In a burst of confidence, one of you tries a bit too dazzling of a move, only to stumble and crash to the floor, sending both of you into fits of laughter. Ding Dong Song by Gunther creates an irresistibly fun, carefree atmosphere that's perfect for living in the moment. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, which matches the playful, spontaneous energy of a hot date where you’re just enjoying the ride. The whole vibe is about embracing the present without worrying about anything too serious, and the music captures that effortlessly. However, let’s be real—the lyrics? They definitely come on a little too strong and need Jesus.

• Love of Your Life - RAYE

Picture the first date go-karting with this song playing in the background. You and your date strap into your karts, anticipation and excitement in the air. The engines rev, and as the green light flashes, the adrenaline hits. You both zoom forward, navigating sharp turns and flying down straightaways, the wind whipping by. There’s a playful intensity as you try to outmaneuver each other, tossing back lighthearted taunts between bursts of laughter. When the race ends, and you pull off your helmets, your faces are flushed with excitement. You both step out, still buzzing from the thrill, laughing over the close calls and the surprising competitiveness that made the race memorable. I’m convinced that RAYE puts crack into all of her songs because this one had me replying to it repeatedly. I found myself at 3AM pretending I was an international pop star. The lyrics, though deeply self-reflective, carry a certain nervous tension. They make you realize just how easy it can be for someone to take advantage of that kind of raw vulnerability. There’s something so exposed in this track—it doesn’t quite give off the vibe of a glamorous, unforgettable night with a hot date. Instead, it feels more like a confessional, pulling back the curtain on the kind of love that leaves you open, for better or worse.

• Dive - Olivia Dean

You and your date stroll through the park, debating which ride to conquer first. The thrill of each attraction fuels bursts of laughter and playful competition, daring each other to try the wildest ones. Between rides, you might share a sweet treat—perhaps cotton candy or a funnel cake—pausing to absorb the electric energy around you. As the sky shifts from bright hues of orange and marigold to deep shades of blue and indigo, you both board the Ferris wheel, savoring a quiet moment together as the entire park glows beneath you and the stars shimmer above. Olivia Dean’s voice in is nothing short of mesmerizing—equal parts soothing and exhilarating, drawing you in with every note. The delicate piano accompaniment perfectly balances the richness of her vocals, creating a harmony that feels both intimate and grand. The lyrics are undeniably romantic, the kind that could make anyone’s heart flutter. It’s easy to imagine how deeply touching it would be to receive this song from someone special. As beautiful as it is, though, an amorous track like this isn’t quite what I was looking for right now which is a shame because this song would easily be in my top three.

The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, wrapping both of you in a comforting embrace at this local coffee shop. You sit across from each other at a small wooden table, close enough that your knees occasionally brush together. The lighting is soft and golden, casting a warm glow on your faces. There's a feeling of ease in the air, as you both smile, sipping your drinks—yours a sweet caramel latte, theirs a rich espresso. The sweetness of your drink mirrors the soft glances and shy laughter you exchange, as you talk about little things—your favorite books, movies, and the dreams you haven’t told many people about. As your conversation flows, there are moments when words aren't necessary, and the silence feels like a shared secret. This song feels like a sweet, musical embrace. It's the equivalent of candy — soft, warm, and irresistibly charming. IU’s gentle, almost whisper-like voice doesn’t just sing the words — it breathes life into them, as if she’s personally serenading you.The addition of Kim Chang-wan's vocals in the duet brings a beautiful contrast, adding layers of richness and maturity to the song. Their voices intertwine like two hearts in conversation, expressing love and vulnerability in perfect harmony, pulling you into their shared emotional space. As much as I want to forever be in this song’s embrace and rank it in my top three, I can’t. It’s not what I had in mind for a “hot date”.

• Love Punch - Boramiyu

You’re sitting in the bleachers in your marching band uniform, the final notes of the school fight song still ringing in your ears. The crowd is electric, buzzing with excitement after the intense game. Your eyes are locked on the field, where your crush—the star quarterback (American football)—has just made the winning play. Players are jumping, fans are cheering, but amidst the chaos, your eyes meet his. Time seems to slow down. His gaze softens, and then he gives you the most affectionate, warm smile—a smile that seems to cut through all the noise and celebration around you. It’s a smile meant just for you, filled with a tenderness that makes your heart skip a beat. This song takes me back to my Jpop days. This song captures the essence of an innocent love between two young people who believe that, as long as they have each other, the world is theirs. The world needs more of this untainted type of love. As much as I enjoy this song, I was actually looking for something more alluring—songs that are bewitching and seductive in a more mature, sensual way, rather than innocent and sweet.

• Honey - Kehlani

A romantic evening unfolds as you and your date sit in a cozy, dimly lit restaurant, the soft glow of candles illuminating your faces while you savor each other’s company over a delicious meal. As the night progresses, the restaurant owner steps up and announces that the stage is open for anyone brave enough to sing. Your date glances at you with a playful smile, stands up, and without a word, makes their way toward the stage. The room gradually hushes as they take the microphone, casting a loving glance your way. There's a spark in their eye, both playful and sincere, as they dedicate the next song to you. The bare, stripped-down vocals paired with raw, heartfelt lyrics transform this song into an intimate and nearly perfect serenade. Its simplicity is its strength, allowing the emotional honesty to shine through. However, the lyrics are…concerning. If my date said to me “I’m a wreck and a mess but at least I’m funny”, I would excuse myself to go to the bathroom and escape through the bathroom window. Don’t admit that you’re a loser on the first date I beg! Let them find that out organically. While I appreciate the romantic vibe of this song, it doesn't quite match what I'm looking for. I'm not a fan of guitar-driven instrumental vocals, and I feel the track lacks the musical dynamism I’m after.

• Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode

You and your date step into the dimly lit escape room, a spark of excitement flickering between you. The room’s theme is mysterious—a dark, ancient temple filled with cryptic puzzles and hidden clues, creating an atmosphere of intrigue and suspense. I’m drawn to songs with hidden meanings—those that require multiple listens to fully grasp the message. I also appreciate songs rich in literary devices, especially metaphors. The portrayal of Jesus as a symbol for hope and unconditional love within the context of a romantic relationship is brilliant. However, it wasn’t quite what I was searching for. I wanted something with a darker undertone, more subtly laced in manipulation and toxicity rather than care and salvation.

This one is definitely going straight to my playlist—no hesitation there! The song’s theme of self-worth and demanding love resonates on some level—it’s empowering to know your worth, after all. However, I can’t help but feel like the lyrics push the boundary from confidence into outright egotism which drives away your hot dates.
