Theme 16 - Only vocaloid @RussianRoulette

3rd place:

Rolling Girl PV - Hatsune Miku @Tommie

2nd place:

po pi po - Miku hatsune @Sweetheart

1st place:

Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder - Kagamine Len & Rin @boo

I’ve been into Vocaloid for like over 15 years now yet the majority of the songs submitted are ones I don't really listen to. :yooheadache:

My ranking is:

1. Butterfly on your right shoulder - This is my actual #1 favorite vocaloid song, its the GOAT. I listen to this literally every day and have like 3 versions of it in my spotify. (Rin's version is superior imo
2. Po Pi Po - Eat your vegetables kids.
3. Rolling Girl -
4. Unknown Mother Goose - (for both 3 and 4) RIP wowoka your songs played a huge part in my teenage years.
5. Madness of Duke Venomania - 🤨
6. King - This song and all covers/versions of it is top tier. Especially Ado's and WonderlandXShowtime's covers.
7. Last Score
8. Mesmerizer
9. Miku Festa.
(7 8 and 9 are all songs i've never heard before so I rated them on first impressions).

I am disqualifying Episode.0 - Gackt because this is not an actual Vocaloid song.
Gackt is the voice provider for Gakupo, but this is a Gakt song not a Gakupo song so I don’t consider this on topic.

I am also disqualifying Go Getters by Mori Calliope because once again, this is a song by a VT singer, not a vocaliod song or even vocaloid related.

Theme 18 - I want what they have @Stannie

3rd place:

That's So Us - Allie X @Chiharu

2nd place:

Capable of love - PinkPantheress @Beefy

1st place:

Nonsense - Sabrina Carpenter @soozie

Comments

General: this time in particular, I prioritized songs I never heard before over familiarity. Also how on theme a song is. There were some nice songs that were either too vague or didn’t fit the theme from my POV, so they were low for those reasons.

Nonsense - Sabrina Carpenter - on a normal day, I'd definitely prefer Perfect and That's So Us, but one was too predictable and the other I've heard and expected to see, so this one ended up edging them out. it's cute. it's playful. it's on theme. to my playlist it goes.
Capable of love - PinkPantheress - first time listening to this. i really enjoyed it. It was a grower for me. lyrics feel relatable *adds to playlist*
That's So Us - Allie X - the way you used MY song against me. but undeniably relationship goals and a bop & half. would've ranked higher if i hadn't listened to it at least 100 times before
Perfect - Ed Sheeran - the quintessence. overall, it's my 2nd fav song on this list. but for this game, i was looking for something new and this was too safe. also, P.S. Thinking Out Loud is the better relationship! !
I think we're alone now - Tiffany - first listen *wildly confused & distracted* after the second and third time, ok, I...oddly enjoyed this young-and-free vibe
Monster - Adventure Time - nice effort :dubu: i do have a soft spot for "forever young" kinda relationships
Puppy Love - This Wild Life - cute but a bit bland
I want that - (G)I-DLE - i don't want that and certain parts sound too grating for me, but at least it fits the theme somewhat
G.R.8.U - VIXX - actually nice, but too vague for this theme
Breathe - Faith Hill - romantic, but too vague for this theme
At Last - Etta James - an icon, i know. but also too vague for this theme
Glue song - Beabadoobee - cute, but too vague for this theme
Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) - MUSE - i like the song itself but the lyrics are a bit overkill and don't really tell me anything specific about the relationship that they’re oh so willing to die for. just how in love they are?
hard life - Sangria ft. Arlo Parks - interesting arrangement but...uhhh, ideal relationship?
Holy - King Princess - wrong audience, hon
Party All Day - Steel Panther - wrong audience, hon
What Is Love - Twice - I love Twice, but song says nothing about an ideal relationship other than the fact that the person...doesn't even know what love is

which one XD

:iwillfightyou:

Lyrics

When I was only three
My mama said to me
Don't go screwin' a skanky ho,
Or you're gonna get VD
When I was seventeen
I boned a kooky bitch
A couple days later, my balls swelled up
And my crotch began to itch
But thats when I totally knew
What God wanted me to do, woah
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
Fuck all night, and party all day
Whoa, oh oh oh, hey, hey, hey
I'm gonna fuck all night and party all day
Check it out
Now I'm in a bitchin' band
And I'm banging every nun
I don't care if she's a trailer ho
But she's got me freakin' out
I get up in the afternoon
'Cause I ain't got a stupid job
I drink some beer and I watch cartoons
While the slut polishes my knob
Smoke and drink and screw
Thats what I was born to do, woah
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
Fuck all night and party all day
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
I'm gonna fuck all night and party all day, let's go
Now God's looking down on me
Saying, hey man, way to be
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
Fuck all night and party all day
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
Fuck all night and party all day
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
Fuck all night and party all day
Whoa, oh, oh oh, hey, hey, hey
Fuck all night and party all day
Fuck fuck fuck yeah,
Fuck yeah
Fuck yeah, dude

  • Make You Mine - Madison Beer
The evening begins as you meet your date outside a stylish spot that effortlessly combines a trendy restaurant with a lively club. The place is buzzing with an energy that’s subtle but electric, like there’s a promise of excitement in the air. You’re led to a cozy table in the restaurant section, where the music is still present but softer, creating the perfect balance between the intimacy of dinner and the anticipation of the night to come. After the meal, the vibe shifts as you move from the restaurant area into the club. The music grows louder, the lights dimmer and more vibrant, and the atmosphere becomes more magnetic. As you two step onto the dance floor, your movements naturally sync with the rhythm, as if guided by the music itself. There’s no need for words—an unspoken connection deepens with every beat, every shared glance, every slight touch of the skin, making the moment feel even more magnetic and intimate. I might need to dive into Madison's music more because I had no idea she made bangers like this! The tantalizing, slightly dangerous lyrics combined with the hypnotic synths create a dream-like atmosphere that pulls you in. No matter how hard you try, you can’t snap out of it—and soon, you realize maybe it’s better to be tangled in this spider’s web than to escape.
  • Love Like Mine - Stela Cole
Excitement fills the air as you and your date step into the Cirque du Soleil venue. As you settle into your seats, there’s a brief moment of shared closeness, a quiet connection as you sit side by side. The show begins and you're immediately transported into a world of enchantment, where graceful acrobats, hauntingly beautiful music, and dreamlike costumes blend into a mesmerizing display of artistry. As the performers soar through the air, there’s a quiet intimacy in how you share this magical moment together. You find yourselves leaning into each other during moments of suspense. Your hands lightly brushing or holding on just a little tighter. This song nearly embodies my theme. The lyrics confidently challenge the listener (aka your date) to prove if they’re truly deserving of your time and affection, because it’s crystal clear that your love is extraordinary. It’s the ultimate litmus test: anyone who doesn’t measure up (the bums and the bores) will be left behind, while those bold and daring enough will be drawn in by the promise of something remarkable. It promises a night that neither you or your date will forget.
  • No Broke Boys - Tinashe
Imagine a blissful day aboard a luxury yacht in the French Riviera, where the sparkling Mediterranean stretches as far as the eye can see. The sun is warm and the crystal-clear sea surrounds you, but the gentle breeze keeps you cool as you and your date lounge on plush sunbeds, sipping on the finest wine. After a while, you decide to dive into the pristine waters for an adventure. You both gear up for scuba diving, descending into an underwater paradise where vibrant coral reefs and exotic marine life swirl around you. Once you're back on deck, the mood shifts to excitement as your date grabs the wakeboard. You take turns gliding over the turquoise waves, laughing and cheering each other on, the rush of the water beneath your feet adding an exhilarating touch to the day. Nothing says “hot date” like a rich date! Having a financially secure partner or friend can bring excitement and open doors to new experiences (just be sure to steer clear of any shady business). Sprinkle sprinkle! On a more serious note, it's important to find someone who is not only financially stable but also financially responsible and literate. After all, being smart with money goes a long way in building a solid future.
  • Your Love - The Outfield
As the sun sets, you and your date drive up to the outdoor theater, where cars are lined up in rows facing a large screen. You find a perfect spot and park, rolling down the windows to enjoy the evening breeze. Once the movie begins, the sound plays through the car’s radio, making it feel like your own private screening. The glow of the screen flickers across your faces, and the combination of watching the film and being together makes for a perfect blend of shared experience and personal connection. The whole scene has a nostalgic feel, like a throwback to simpler times, where the focus is more on the shared company than just the movie itself. As the movie plays, there are moments where you catch each other’s reactions—smiling at the same scenes, exchanging glances during exciting or funny parts, and maybe even feeling that first spark of closeness as you sit side by side. This song embodies that perfect mix of nostalgia and fleeting passion. It’s not about finding a soulmate or making any grand promises; it’s about the intensity of a moment that you know won’t last, and that's what makes it so exhilarating. The song captures that bittersweet tension of being caught between wanting to hold on but knowing it's only temporary—like a hot date with no expectations of forever. There's no talk of commitment, no vows exchanged, just a shared experience in the here and now. I would rank it higher, but alas I’m already familiar with the song.
  • Love Dive - IVE
The room is alive with the vibrant, nostalgic glow of neon signs, casting colorful reflections on rows of classic arcade cabinets that line the walls. You and your date weave through the maze of games, your excitement bubbling as you eagerly decide where to begin. Playful banter flows naturally between you, each of you daring the other to step up to the challenge. You start with a thrilling race in Mario Kart, both of you leaning into every turn as the competition heats up. Then, it’s on to the whack-a-mole station, where quick reflexes are put to the test, followed by an intense face-off in Street Fighter, where fierce button-mashing leaves you both laughing. Victories are celebrated with playful cheers, while near-misses and hilarious defeats bring out lighthearted teasing. Every game feels like an adventure, as the competition fuels the fun, drawing you closer with each moment. Would you believe me if I said that Love Dive is my favorite IVE title track? This song explores the idea that love is worth the risk, even if it means sacrificing your sanity in the process. It highlights the deep, human craving for connection, even when it comes at a personal cost. The lyrics evoke the allure of a siren's call, tempting you to embrace your hedonistic and selfish side, whispering that it's okay to indulge in those feelings every once in a while. It’s a reminder that love requires a certain kind of bravery—a willingness to dive headfirst into something powerful and unpredictable yet transformative. And isn't that what makes it so thrilling? The beauty and complexity of love lies in its risks, and it takes courage to embrace it fully and you are brave aren’t you?
  • Ding Dong Song - Gunther
The two of you glide onto the neon-lit floor, surrounded by a kaleidoscope of vibrant, flashing lights that pulse to the rhythm of the music. Your date confidently skates ahead, showing off their dazzling moves with effortless grace, while you can’t help but admire their energy and charm. The atmosphere is carefree, the air alive with laughter and excitement as you both skate side by side, feeling the rush of freedom in every turn. In a burst of confidence, one of you tries a bit too dazzling of a move, only to stumble and crash to the floor, sending both of you into fits of laughter. Ding Dong Song by Gunther creates an irresistibly fun, carefree atmosphere that's perfect for living in the moment. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, which matches the playful, spontaneous energy of a hot date where you’re just enjoying the ride. The whole vibe is about embracing the present without worrying about anything too serious, and the music captures that effortlessly. However, let’s be real—the lyrics? They definitely come on a little too strong and need Jesus.
  • Love of Your Life - RAYE
Picture the first date go-karting with this song playing in the background. You and your date strap into your karts, anticipation and excitement in the air. The engines rev, and as the green light flashes, the adrenaline hits. You both zoom forward, navigating sharp turns and flying down straightaways, the wind whipping by. There’s a playful intensity as you try to outmaneuver each other, tossing back lighthearted taunts between bursts of laughter. When the race ends, and you pull off your helmets, your faces are flushed with excitement. You both step out, still buzzing from the thrill, laughing over the close calls and the surprising competitiveness that made the race memorable. I’m convinced that RAYE puts crack into all of her songs because this one had me replying to it repeatedly. I found myself at 3AM pretending I was an international pop star. The lyrics, though deeply self-reflective, carry a certain nervous tension. They make you realize just how easy it can be for someone to take advantage of that kind of raw vulnerability. There’s something so exposed in this track—it doesn’t quite give off the vibe of a glamorous, unforgettable night with a hot date. Instead, it feels more like a confessional, pulling back the curtain on the kind of love that leaves you open, for better or worse.
  • Dive - Olivia Dean
You and your date stroll through the park, debating which ride to conquer first. The thrill of each attraction fuels bursts of laughter and playful competition, daring each other to try the wildest ones. Between rides, you might share a sweet treat—perhaps cotton candy or a funnel cake—pausing to absorb the electric energy around you. As the sky shifts from bright hues of orange and marigold to deep shades of blue and indigo, you both board the Ferris wheel, savoring a quiet moment together as the entire park glows beneath you and the stars shimmer above. Olivia Dean’s voice in is nothing short of mesmerizing—equal parts soothing and exhilarating, drawing you in with every note. The delicate piano accompaniment perfectly balances the richness of her vocals, creating a harmony that feels both intimate and grand. The lyrics are undeniably romantic, the kind that could make anyone’s heart flutter. It’s easy to imagine how deeply touching it would be to receive this song from someone special. As beautiful as it is, though, an amorous track like this isn’t quite what I was looking for right now which is a shame because this song would easily be in my top three.
  • The Meaning of You - IU
The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, wrapping both of you in a comforting embrace at this local coffee shop. You sit across from each other at a small wooden table, close enough that your knees occasionally brush together. The lighting is soft and golden, casting a warm glow on your faces. There's a feeling of ease in the air, as you both smile, sipping your drinks—yours a sweet caramel latte, theirs a rich espresso. The sweetness of your drink mirrors the soft glances and shy laughter you exchange, as you talk about little things—your favorite books, movies, and the dreams you haven’t told many people about. As your conversation flows, there are moments when words aren't necessary, and the silence feels like a shared secret. This song feels like a sweet, musical embrace. It's the equivalent of candy — soft, warm, and irresistibly charming. IU’s gentle, almost whisper-like voice doesn’t just sing the words — it breathes life into them, as if she’s personally serenading you.The addition of Kim Chang-wan's vocals in the duet brings a beautiful contrast, adding layers of richness and maturity to the song. Their voices intertwine like two hearts in conversation, expressing love and vulnerability in perfect harmony, pulling you into their shared emotional space. As much as I want to forever be in this song’s embrace and rank it in my top three, I can’t. It’s not what I had in mind for a “hot date”.
  • Love Punch - Boramiyu
You’re sitting in the bleachers in your marching band uniform, the final notes of the school fight song still ringing in your ears. The crowd is electric, buzzing with excitement after the intense game. Your eyes are locked on the field, where your crush—the star quarterback (American football)—has just made the winning play. Players are jumping, fans are cheering, but amidst the chaos, your eyes meet his. Time seems to slow down. His gaze softens, and then he gives you the most affectionate, warm smile—a smile that seems to cut through all the noise and celebration around you. It’s a smile meant just for you, filled with a tenderness that makes your heart skip a beat. This song takes me back to my Jpop days. This song captures the essence of an innocent love between two young people who believe that, as long as they have each other, the world is theirs. The world needs more of this untainted type of love. As much as I enjoy this song, I was actually looking for something more alluring—songs that are bewitching and seductive in a more mature, sensual way, rather than innocent and sweet.
  • Honey - Kehlani
A romantic evening unfolds as you and your date sit in a cozy, dimly lit restaurant, the soft glow of candles illuminating your faces while you savor each other’s company over a delicious meal. As the night progresses, the restaurant owner steps up and announces that the stage is open for anyone brave enough to sing. Your date glances at you with a playful smile, stands up, and without a word, makes their way toward the stage. The room gradually hushes as they take the microphone, casting a loving glance your way. There's a spark in their eye, both playful and sincere, as they dedicate the next song to you. The bare, stripped-down vocals paired with raw, heartfelt lyrics transform this song into an intimate and nearly perfect serenade. Its simplicity is its strength, allowing the emotional honesty to shine through. However, the lyrics are…concerning. If my date said to me “I’m a wreck and a mess but at least I’m funny”, I would excuse myself to go to the bathroom and escape through the bathroom window. Don’t admit that you’re a loser on the first date I beg! Let them find that out organically. While I appreciate the romantic vibe of this song, it doesn't quite match what I'm looking for. I'm not a fan of guitar-driven instrumental vocals, and I feel the track lacks the musical dynamism I’m after.
  • Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode
You and your date step into the dimly lit escape room, a spark of excitement flickering between you. The room’s theme is mysterious—a dark, ancient temple filled with cryptic puzzles and hidden clues, creating an atmosphere of intrigue and suspense. As the heavy door clicks shut behind you, the countdown begins. Together, you dive into the challenge—your minds in sync, your hands brushing as you search for clues. Laughter breaks the tension when you fumble with a riddle, but the joy of solving it lights up your faces. Each unlocked secret brings you closer, not just to victory, but to each other. With every solved puzzle, the room opens up a little more, revealing its mysteries, while your connection strengthens—fueled by shared triumphs, clever ideas, and a mutual trust in each other's instincts. I’m drawn to songs with hidden meanings—those that require multiple listens to fully grasp the message. I also appreciate songs rich in literary devices, especially metaphors. The portrayal of Jesus as a symbol for hope and unconditional love within the context of a romantic relationship is brilliant. However, it wasn’t quite what I was searching for. I wanted something with a darker undertone, more subtly laced in manipulation and toxicity rather than care and salvation.
  • My Paradise - Nam Woohyun
You and your date find a cozy spot on the sand, close enough to hear the soothing sound of the beach waves but far enough to enjoy some privacy. The picnic basket is filled with light, summery foods: fresh fruit like strawberries and watermelon, a selection of sandwiches or wraps, maybe some cheese and crackers, and chilled beverages like sparkling water, lemonade, or a bottle of wine if you're feeling fancy. The conversation flows naturally as you both take in the sights—the golden sun shimmering on the water, seagulls flying overhead, and people laughing and playing nearby. You share stories and laughs while enjoying the delicious food and the casual atmosphere. This song captures the essence of a summer romance that feels destined to last. It's not just a fleeting summer fling; it's the summer where two souls find each other, guided by a gentle breeze that brings them together. Unlike traditional love songs, this track uses unconventional instruments, adding a playful and refreshing energy, much like the lightness of a summer day. However, it’s not quite what I had in mind. I was looking for something with a more seductive, edgy vibe—something that feels a bit darker and more intense.
  • World Is Mine - Hatsune Miku
You arrive at the karaoke spot, a little nervous but eager to see how the night unfolds. After finding a cozy spot to sit, you browse through the song list together. The nervousness melts away as you laugh over song choices, teasing each other about who’s going to pick the cheesiest song or hit the highest notes. When the first song is chosen, the nerves return, but this time with a rush of excitement. Whether you go first or your date does, there’s an instant connection as you cheer each other on.The room erupts in laughter when notes go slightly off-key, or a lyric is hilariously fumbled, but that only makes it more fun. Between performances, you sip on drinks and swap stories about embarrassing concert experiences, favorite songs, and first music memories. As the night wears on, you find yourselves loosening up even more—laughing freely, clapping for each other, and feeling that the initial nervous energy has shifted into a relaxed, playful connection. This one is definitely going straight to my playlist—no hesitation there! I can already picture myself blasting "World is Mine" at full volume, cruising down the highway at midnight, and feeling like the queen of my own world. The song’s theme of self-worth and demanding love resonates on some level—it’s empowering to know your worth, after all. However, I can’t help but feel like the lyrics push the boundary from confidence into outright egotism which drives away your hot dates.
  • With Out U - EXID
From the moment you step into the neon-lit arena, a surge of adrenaline rushes through both of you. The air is thick with the sound of futuristic music, the faint hum of the vests activating, and the flickering lights of the obstacles scattered around the course. As the countdown hits zero, you both spring into action, adrenaline fueling every step. You dart into the maze-like corridors, ducking behind barriers and navigating the narrow passages with playful urgency. The thrill of the chase is intoxicating—your breath quickens, not just from the running, but from the excitement of the game and the shared anticipation. Every now and then, you spot each other through the chaos, exchanging a mischievous grin before vanishing behind the next obstacle, trying to outwit one another. Though you're technically opponents, the competition only makes the connection sweeter. Each playful exchange, whether it's a quick tag with your laser or a shared moment of strategizing, feels like you're in on something together, a secret adventure just for the two of you. Unfortunately, instead of you gaining some dates, you might have scared them away.. or maybe, just maybe, they're intrigued by the challenge (because let’s face it, some people enjoy the thrill of the chase!). This song is a good reminder to stand tall after a breakup. So instead of worrying about what might have gone wrong, embrace your independence and keep shining. After all, who needs validation when you’ve got your own self-worth on lock?

GENERAL COMMENT:
Almost all my submissions are so romantic which makes me a bit sentimental because I can see how much love the players have for other people and how thoughtful and considerate they are (honestly whoever gets to date you guys hit the jackpot). Some of my submissions also emphasize the importance of never settling for less, as it’s crucial in protecting yourself from manipulation and abusive tendencies. HOWEVER, DID I NOT ASK FOR SONGS THAT CAN GET YOU "HOT DATES"? HOT DATES ARE TOXIC PEOPLE THAT YOU DON'T KNOW ARE TOXIC UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE. PEOPLE THAT WILL SEND YOU TO YOUR DEATH BED EARLY. I WANT DRAAAAAAMMMMMMAAAAAA. I WANT HEARTBREAK. I WANT SLASHING TIRES AND BREAKING WINDOWS BECAUSE YOU FOUND OUT THAT YOUR DATE IS NOT WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE. I WANT SLIDING ON THE WALLS LEVEL OF HEARTBREAK BECAUSE YOU FOUND OUT THAT YOUR DATE HAS ANOTHER FAMILY. I WANT A 1 HOUR LONG STORYTIME ON HOW YOU GOT SCAMMED AND NOW ARE IN $678,309.56 IN DEBT BECAUSE YOU BELIEVED YOUR DATE NEEDED THE MONEY FOR RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY. I WANT SHONDA RHIMES LEVEL OF DRAMA.

I'll post full results in a bit and let you...digest this
