Hello again Hallyuplussers and welcome to another great weekly recap on all things news and entertainment! Sit down and let's go over another week of Asian Entertainment together!

MONDAY:
#1- UNINE have revealed that they'll be coming back on the 6th of May with a new mini-album titled "u-night flight". IU is coming back on the 6th of May with a collaboration with BTS' Suga. Taeyeon will reportedly be making her comeback of the 4th of May. Lastly, NCT127 will be back to "punch" their way into our hearts with a repackage on the 19th of May! Whose return are you most looking forward to?

#2- Former YG trainee, Jang Hanna was announced to make her solo debut on the 1st of May with a self-produced album titled "RUNNAWAY". She has since released her debut album. Have you listened to it yet?

#3- It has been revealed that Baek Jiyoung will be joining the OST lineup for the JTBC drama "The World of the Married". The OST has been released on Saturday, did you like it?

#4- N.Flying will be having their 5th anniversary this year, and to celebrate it, they released their first official lightstick! GSA's Jisung, Gooseul, and Seulbi have all renewed their contracts with Roots Entertainment. Meanwhile, Natty, who is preparing to debut on the 7th of May, just opened her fancafe! Are you excited about this news?

#5- Mnet has announced its judges' line-up for the 2020 edition of The Voice Korea, Kim Jong Kook, BoA, Sung Si Kyung and Dynamic Duo! NCT Dream performed Ridin' for the first time on April 30 during "NCT Dream The Stage"! Finally, Super M's online concert experience "Super M: Beyond The Future" surpassed 75,000 viewers!

#6- NEXT's Fan Chengcheng was swept up in rumours this week. The idol was rumoured to be dating and living with a woman, which he has since denied. Following which, his team has threatened legal action against those spreading false rumours about the star.

#7- The Gyeonggi Police have revealed that Yang Hyunsuk's case has been handed over to the prosecution, and the former-CEO has denied all charges laid against him.

#8- Super Junior's Kyuhyun will be guesting on the SBS variety 'Delicious Rendevous'. Meanwhile, the Super Junior web variety show "SuJu Returns" will be returning for a fourth season during May!



TUESDAY:
#1- JYP Entertainment has confirmed that TWICE will be having a comeback on the 1st of June with the title track "More n More". Following NCT127's comeback announcement, Doyoung further confirmed that their upcoming title track "Punch" was written by Kenzie! Are you as excited as we are?

#2- Following the prolonged effects of coronavirus throughout Japan (and globally), a number of celebrities have had to change the way they interact with their fans by moving to online platforms. Momoiro Clover Z has announced that they will be holding daily free concert streams throughout the Japanese "Golden Week", a holiday which would usually be spent with your direct family, in an effort to hopefully cheer everyone up! Utada Hikaru has announced that she will be beginning an Instagram Live series in May. Finally, Nogizaka46's Shiraishi Mai has changed her graduation plans and will be staying with the group for all intents and purposes, but will be promoting solo as a member of Nogizaka46 until such a time that a graduation concert can be held in person.

#3- Mnet's "Road To Kingdom" has been revealed to have included elimination within the show. Running Man will have a great line-up this week with Bobblgan4, Jessi, Oh My Girl, and UP10TION's Lee Jinhyuk all guesting this week!

#4- It has been reported that Park Jihoon has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming drama "Love Revolution", based off the web-drama of the same name!



WEDNESDAY:
#1- Exo's Chen and his wife have welcomed the birth of their daughter this Wednesday! We congratulate them on their newest addition to their family!

#2- It has been reported that Younghoon from The Boyz has joined the cast of the upcoming drama "Love Revolution". SF9's Rowoon has reportedly been cast in the JTBC drama "Lipstick". Last but not least, Yesung has been confirmed to join the cast of the film "The Girls Riding A Bulldozer"! Will you be putting any of these on your watch list?

#3- A slew of comeback announcements were dropped this week! 2AM's Changmin was announced and made a comeback on the 2nd of May through a project with Hong Changwoo. Victoria will reportedly drop a solo album during May. Changmo is set to collaborate with UK rapper Stormzy for an upcoming single. Lastly, Mamamoo's Wheein will be collaborating with DinDin for a single release on the 23rd of May! Who are you looking forward to the most?

#4- Taeyeon will be holding a V Live broadcast on the 4th of May to celebrate the release of "Happy." Make sure to tune in!

#5- It was announced that Cheetah and actor Nam Yeonwoo are set to guest on the MBC variety show "Lose If You're Envious". Ailee has been reported to join the new meet hip-hop program "Good Girl". The Lifestyle program "These Days" has found their newest MC's in Jun Hyosung, Wonder Girls' Yubin & Johyun from Berry Good.



THURSDAY:
#1- Minzy has revealed that she'll be releasing a new single in May. It was announced that Ha Sungwoon and Davichi would each be releasing an OST for the drama "The King: Eternal Monarch", which dropped yesterday and earlier today, respectively. Have you listened to them yet?

#2- MNET has announced the full line-up for their Hip-Hop program "Good Girl". Exo's Suho has again proved that he is the best supporter of his group members, as he has reportedly filmed for Season 3 of "Busted!" in support of his fellow group member Sehun!

#3- It was announced that Zhou Dongyu has parted ways with Mountain Top Entertainment, her company of five years.

#4- It was reported that Yang Sejong will be enlisting in the military on the 12th of May. We wish him a safe and healthy service.



FRIDAY:
#1- New single/music video releases were made this week. Sung Sikyung came back with a new digital single 'And We Go' and Hua Chenyu released the music video for his song 'Bullfighting' on May 3rd. Nature released an OST for tvN web drama 'The World of My 17 on Saturday'!

#2- Anticipate new shows as well as guesting coming your way! PD Na Young Seok will produce another tvN show featuring Sechs Kies (the first broadcast will be on May 15)! Pyo Yejin, SF9's Rowoon, Kim Hyeyoon, and Kim Bora will guest on Busted Season 3! Anticipate their episode in the new season to be aired later in the fall! As for guesting in existing shows, Lee Kwang Soo will guest on tvN '3 Meals A Day'!

#3- Great news for fans, Babymetal dancer Riho Sayashi has opened her personal Instagram account! As for Day6 fans, they have opened their official TikTok Channel! Anticipate exciting new content!

#4- Hyelim and Taekwondo athlete Shin Min Cheol will be married on July 5th! Congratulations on their next chapter of life!

#5-B1A4 Sandeul announces that he is stepping down as a DJ from his radio show '"Sandeul’s Starry Night". We thank him for his work in leading the nightly show program.

#6- Jellyfish Entertainment announces that they plan to take legal pursuits of those who are leaving malicious comments about VIXX's Hongbin. They also announced that he would be inactive for a time being until further notice.



SATURDAY:
#1- Silent Siren's Yukako Kurosaka launches her fashion brand "jour de muguet"! Pre-sale is planned for mid-to-late July!

#2- Kang Daniel and Rich Brian will have a dance battle at the live streaming festival "Asia Rising Forever". This three-hour festival also consists of performances from various Asian artists. It will be shown through the organizer's YouTube and Twitter accounts on May 7!

#3- Wang Yibo's agency, Yuehua Entertainment, has released an official statement warning fans who attempt to invade the privacy of their idols. Recently, they discovered GPS tracking devices and such behavior will be dealt with legal action.

#4- Migyo was sent to the emergency room due to severe abdominal pains. She received treatment and is now resting at home. We hope for her speedy recovery.



SUNDAY:
#1- JTBC's 'The World of the Married' now becomes the highest-rated cable drama as its 12th episode reached 24.3% nationwide surpassing Sky Castle!

#2- It was revealed that BtoB's maknae, Sungjae, will be enlisting in the military on the 11th of May. We wish him the best in his service!

#3- It was reported that Kris Wu will be appearing on Produce Camp 2020 as a guest mentor. The actor was spotted arriving for filming at the show, replacing Show Luo, one of the main mentors of the show, who was exposed by his ex-girlfriend for cheating.

#1- OH MY GIRL - NONSTOP
One thing Oh My Girl always manages to do? They make us wish we were the main topic of their songs, and "Nonstop" was the same. They talk about a friend they fell in love with; how the former made their hearts flutter and awakened the butterflies in their stomachs. Of course, this lovely topic was accompanied by more than romantic instrumentations and colourful, cheerful music video that perfectly shows how one feels when falling in love! It is easy to fall for Oh My Girl, but choose a bias? Good luck trying!





#2- NCT DREAM - RIDIN'
NCT Dream continued what they started with their latest releases ― growing up and having a beautiful glow-up. They were once our favourite bubblegum pop sound, and now that they keep exploring mature concepts, we couldn't help but admire their artistry and enjoy every new release! In "Ridin'", they showed us how well they fit a mature-hip-hop-influenced sound. Not to stray too far away from the Dreamies we are used to, they kept their strongest suit ― powerful choreography and an infective chorus that will stay in your head for days!





#3- CHUNGHA - STAY TONIGHT
It wouldn't be Chungha without a bop containing a strong message! In a world still full of toxic masculinity and gender roles, Chungha wanted her opinion on it to be heard too, and we understood it loud and clear with the dancers in her music video wearing high heels and makeup. Her boldness is as praise-worthy as her gorgeous vocals and passionate dance moves that she always likes to flaunt! So what are you listening to tonight? This answer might drastically change as soon as you give a listen to Chungha's "Stay Tonight"!





#4- NOIR - LUCIFER
Who says springtime is reserved only for bubbly cheerful concepts?! Noir didn't think so and managed to catch our attention with the dark, moody, and angsty track "Lucifer"! As what this boy group is known for, this release didn't lack in absolutely enjoyable EDM and trap influences. The mysterious music video helped keep us hooked to this song until the very last second, and we are sure you will pay close attention to it too!





#5- RAVI X AILEE
Ailee? Undoubtedly one of the greatest female vocalists we had a chance to meet. Ravi? One of the most charismatic rappers there is. "What About You?", their collaboration was the one we didn't even know we needed, and now we wonder how we lived without it. Their voices harmonising is pure magic, and their chemistry is out of this world. Ravi's voice was softer than usual to compliment Ailee's vocals, and it did the song a great favour! And the message behind the song? Strong, powerful, and something we all experienced ― not wanting to let your loved one know about your struggles. Luckily, all struggles will disappear with this calming release.





#6- GWSN - BAZOOKA!
Upon completing their "The Park in the Night" trilogy, the GWSN girls moved onto new sounds and concepts. Their distinctive cute music filled with aegyo turned into a more powerful and catchy almost-girl-crush concept in "Bazooka!". The song was filled with a cheerleading sound, which helped the chanting pre-chorus and chorus be more catchy, and it worked wonders. This release left us more excited for GWSN's future sound, and we are sure only in one thing ― it will sound great!





#7- YESUNG X SURAN - STILL STANDING
Super Junior's Yesung proved to us an uncountable amount of times why he is one of the greatest vocalists of our age. Through many collaborations, he has proved how versatile a vocalist he is. In "Still Standing", he showed us that his lower register is just as amazing as his famous higher register, and it complimented Suran's higher tones perfectly. Suran proved that she is a queen of collaborations, making this moody song somewhat cheerful. All in all, it is the perfect song for early spring with amazing vocals!





#8- HKT48 CHOU - KISS PETALS
Remember HKT48's unit, Chou, back from 2017? Well, the girls are now back after a long time, which 3 years certainly is. And what a concept they chose for this grand return! The retro concept of "Kiss Petals"' was fulfilled in bright colours and there were flowers all around in the music video, making it a perfect addition to your spring playlist. And the girls' rich vocals? They shined so much in this release!

#1- Oh My Girl is doing very well with their latest comeback! Their title track 'Nonstop' debuted #5 on Melon and #1 on Bugs, and it went on to reach #1 on Melon on the same day! Their first day sales for 'Nonstop' were also great as they sold 19,225 copies, and it already exceeded their highest weekly album sales that they had with 'Remember Me'. Their YouTube views were also impressive, as their 'Nonstop' music video surpassed 10 million views in the first three days!


#2- NCT Dream's comeback has also broken their personal records, as their latest title track 'Ridin' debuted #4 on Melon. Later in the day, it peaked at #1 on Melon and it is the first NCT track to reach #1. Ridin is also doing well internationally, as it reached #1 in iTunes in 49 countries! Their first week sales for the album 'Reload' were over 367K copies, and it is their highest first-week sales thus far. 'Reload' has recorded over 500K preorders before their comeback, so we expect their album sales to go up even more!


#3- Loona's YouTube channel has reached over 1 million subscribers! Look forward to more content coming to YouTube for Orbits!


#4 -The music video for Zhou Zhennan's 'Love' has officially surpassed a cumulative score of 10 million on QQ Music's Top MV Chart! Hope you had a chance to check out the song!


#5- Red Velvet Joy's OST 'Introduce Me A Good Person' hits a new peak in Melon Daily at #10, and it is her first song to do so!


#6- HKT48 recorded their 13th consecutive number one in 7 years with their 13th single "3-2", recording 162,000 sales!

Throne Wars came to a conclusion this week and AKID❀KI hosted a final game for us to play on Monday, "A Royal Journey", where players were required to enter the finish square first. House Targaryen ultimately claimed the prize!
