GuestJust like every Sunday, your favourite Hallyu+ team is back with ICYMI! So, what happened this week? Any departure
from an entertainment company, comeback announcement or new song you need to check out as soon as possible? The answer
to all these is yes, as usual! It's time for you to make sure you are perfectly updated before next week starts!
MONDAY:
#1- We started off the week with some exciting news for first generation Kpop fans! On the September 8th broadcast of "Camping Trip," the members of
Fin.K.L met an old friend of Hyori's for one reason: they wanted to request a song! This song will mark the first song of theirs in 14 years!! Let's go girls!
#2- Keyakizaka46's 9th single formation has been decided! Hirate Yurina will be the center once again! Are you happy with this decision? What is your
ideal "senbatsu" (selection)?
#3- Hinatazaka46's Iguchi Mao seems to be in a bit of "trouble." A picture of an unknown woman with an actor reached the Internet, and rumors were
speculating as to who the idol was. Mao stepped forward on her blog to admit it was her, apologizing for her actions and stating that she would be halting
activities to reflect. Do you agree with her decision?
#4- On Monday, the members of Super M showed their excitement to share their album with you! Get a glimpse of their debut CD with some member
unboxings!
#5- We sadly finish this recap with bad news: Actor Yoon Shi Yoon unfortunately lost his grandmother a day prior to an announcement made on Monday.
Fans and viewers of 2 Days and 1 Night were able to see their close bond when he went back to his hometown in an episode. We send our condolences.
TUESDAY:
#1- To celebrate UP10TION's 4th anniversary, the group announced their official color for HONEY10s! Mixing yellow up, lemon chrome, and honey,
HONEY UP serves up some cute vibes!
#2- OUI Entertainment is snatching up even more ex-Produce trainees - this time Wang Jyunhao, whose departure from YG was announced a week after
Hidaka Mahiro's. We're curious as to what this company has planned for the future!
#3- Dreamcatcher is getting ready for a comeback next week, including an interesting collaboration with the popular mobile game King's Raid! Not much
information is out, but we're looking forward to their role in the game! Will you be playing?
#4- In some more happy news, actor Kim Min Joon (Tazza, Top Star) and fashion designer Kwon Da Mi will wed in October! Da Mi is G-Dragon's older sister.
Congratulations to the couple!
#5- Following Ailee's controversial departure from her previous company YMC, she has revealed her new agency to be ROCKET3ENT! Our ears can't wait
for new music from her soon!
WEDNESDAY:
#1- 2019 is proving to be a great year for Chen, as SM Entertainment gives us details on his next comeback, which will be on October 1st! His 2nd mini
album, "Dear My Dear," will have 6 songs!
#2- Singer ALi, who was widely featured on the show "Immortal Songs 2," has welcomed her first child! She gave birth about a month early but was happy
to let everyone know that she and her new baby are both healthy! Congratulations!
#3- DANITYs, did you catch this? Kang Daniel had his own solo show, which was featured on Naver NOW! There were 4 episodes that ran from the 11th to the
14th, with the 15th showing all episodes as a recap. How was it?
#4- Sadly, with the expiration of their contracts, Matilda has officially disbanded after three years. Matilda debuted with the song "Macarena" in March of 2016.
#5- A pair of HiHi Jets members (a group under Johnny's Jr.) have found themselves in hot water. Photos of Ryo Hashimoto, 18, and Ryuto Sakuma, 16,
were leaked - Ryo with a woman in a bed and Ryuto on the floor, appearing to be drunk. Japan's legal drinking age is 20. Since then, the entertainment
company has apologized to the public and have halted the two's activities until December of this year. However the woman in question has been revealed
to be a stalker who had plastic surgery to execute her plan of revenge. What a story!
#6- There were some rumors of actress Honey Lee and g.o.d member and actor Yoon Kye Sang's break up, but their entertainment company Saram slammed
those whispers, saying the pair "laughed loudly" upon hearing this.
#7- A statement released on the 11th that JYPE will maintain its high growth amongst The Big 3. With Twice making a comeback on September 23rd, and
Stray Kids and rookie group ITZY releasing new songs in the 4th quarter of the year, it is expected that profits will increase even more. JYP is also planning
to release "Project NIZI" in April of 2020. It is truly making us all very excited about what JYPE is preparing in the coming months!
THURSDAY:
#1- Are you missing SNSD's Sooyoung? Now you can see what she's up to because Sooyoung has opened up a YouTube channel! So far only an introduction has been
uploaded but we are anticipating some greatness!
#2- JYP band DAY6 appeared on "Good Day New York" this Thursday morning! They were sure to bring a high energy appearance and give everyone some
good laughs. Did you watch it?
#3- SuperM fans, bow down to your new leader! The members of the super group have selected the head of the group and it is...Baekhyun! Good luck handling
this group, Baekhyun...
#4- Jessica Jung will be blessing us all soon by releasing a new single titled, "Call Me Before You Sleep", on October 9th. She’ll be dropping not just one, but two
versions - one in Japanese (it will feature J Soul Brothers’ Elly) and the other in Korean (featuring Giriboy). We’re all looking forward to both releases!
#5- YouTube is being graced with talent all over! Ex-Pristin's Kyla Massie has also started a YouTube channel! Nothing has been posted just yet, but we're
really wondering what kind of content she will have...
FRIDAY:
#1- Amber is not slowing down as she revealed her tracklist for her upcoming solo album on Twitter! Do any of the titles catch your attention?
#2- With the announcement of preparations for an October comeback made just last week, AB6IX's comeback was confirmed for the beginning of next month!
#3- Are you watching MNET's Queendom? Some of Korea is! The show was able to reach a record high of 1% for their past episode which saw AOA cover
Mamamoo, Mamamoo cover AOA, and Park Bom cover (G)I-DLE! Check out the performances on Hallyu+!
#4- While we are craving more Momoland music, the group's members, who will be performing in Manila, will be donating their concert earnings to those in
need in the Philippines. The concert, which also features ex-Wanna One's Ha Sung Woon and Kim Jae Hwan, will happen next month!
#5- EXO fans, you might not have to wait any longer for a comeback this year! On his IG live, (busy) Baekhyun revealed that EXO will start recording
something next week! With the SuperM debut, we wonder how he and Kai will juggle things, but hope they get the rest they need as well!
#6- Right behind Jimin Park is her 15& partner, Baek Yerin, who left JYP upon expiration of her contract. Though sad, she mentions that she will be starting
her own independent label! With the talent that these ladies possess, we have no doubt that we will see them again!
SATURDAY:
#1 - Rising international sensation ATEEZ have announced their plans for a fall comeback. If you weren’t already excited enough, it will be a full album!
The group made the announcement during their new video titled "ANEWZ #1" along with updates on how the members are doing. ATINY, are you prepared?
SUNDAY:
#1- On Sunday we learnt that rapper Sleepy left TS Entertainment in late-August to create his own company called PVO ("Positive Vibes Only"). His
departure was not peaceful, as the two parties terminated the contract through legal dispute. TS now wants to sue him for "damage"... Fighting, Sleepy!
#2- JTBC announced that the first episode of their new variety show, "Melody Bookstore", would be broadcast on October 9th! The cast, made of Super Junior's
Leeteuk, Sunwoo Jungah, Suran, Block B's Park Kyung, Song Yuvin and Dickpunks' Kim Hyunwoo will create OSTs for books they will be given. Anticipating!
#1- FTISLAND / QUIT
FTISLAND never fails to put out a good ballad! With four members, the band is still kicking and screaming, this time with the highly emotional song "Quit."
The group serves up some epic rock music while Hong Ki pours his emotions into the song. The music video is just as sad as Hong Ki's impending enlistment.
The main character dreams of manipulating time to go back to happier times with her ex-lover. While the official music video is fantastic, we implore you
to check out the live version, which was posted prior.
#2- IZ*ONE / VAMPIRE
Just three months after the release of "Buenos Aires", IZ*ONE came back on Friday with a third Japanese single! The title of the song says it all: the girls,
slowly transforming into vampires, tell the story of an ex-boyfriend they can't forget, and after accepting their irrational love for him, confess their plan
to turn him into an immortal creature. With IZ*ONE, we start celebrating Halloween early this year!
#3- BOL4 / WORKAHOLIC
The indie darlings of BOL4 are back with another fantastic song! In a Groundhog Day-like music video, Jiyoung in her recognizable soft tone, sings about
being overworked, taking a swig of beer only to wake up the next day, in the same situation, the same morning. Written by Jiyoung herself, "Workaholic"
serves as an anthem to those who can relate, workers, students, anyone who wants to escape their mundane life. The video is just as relatable as the song,
so check it out!
#4- AAA / BAD LOVE
Japan's beloved coed group is looking "bad" in their newest video for the song "Bad Love"! Japan has a habit of starting Halloween preparations in September -
so it's no surprise that AAA has also gone for a vampire theme. The catchy song makes you want to hit the replay button to hear the sweet harmony of the
male and female voices, with the addition of an enticing rap that pulls you in!
#5- DREAMCATCHER / BREAKING OUT
Dreamcatcher's fans are being fed these days, as the queens came back this week with a Japanese album, "The Beginning of the End", only one week before
the release of their next Korean EP! The music video for "Breaking Out" was released on Tuesday, and even though the beginning of the song will surprise you
(a summer concept for Dreamcatcher - and in September?), the heavy instrumentals and rock sounds that make their reputation finally appear
in the chorus. Dreamcatcher never disappoints, and this release doesn't make an exception to the rule!
#6- WU TSING FONG / SPACEMAN
Are you ready to get caught in a rollercoaster of emotions? If the answer is yes, then you need to give a listen to "Spaceman", Wu Tsing Fong's new release!
The singer-songwriter from Taïwan came back on Friday with this melancholic song accompanied with a 6-minute music video that will definitely catch your
attention. After a dreamy but extravagant introduction, we get to witness a one-sided love story between two housemates - the man's imaginary life as
a spaceman making the "real-life" scenes even more poetic and heartbreaking. We definitely advise you to check it out!
#7- LITTLE GLEE MONSTER / ECHO
The ladies of Little Glee Monster knock it out of the park again with "Echo", the official Japan Rugby Cup song for NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation)!
While the rugby cup will most certainly feature fierce competition, the song wants you to know, even if we are sometimes rivals, we are always
companions. You can listen to it in the video below!
#8- CHUNG HA AND MOMMY SON / FAST
While the song was released a few days ago, the music video for Chung Ha and Mommy Son's "Fast" features both artists in the studio while Chung Ha takes
to the streets of Seoul and runs. "Fast" is the main theme for the 2019 JTBC Seoul Marathon, and there has been speculation as to who the mystery rapper
Mommy Son might be. A lot of bets are on rapper Mad Clown... what do you think?
