hey, maybe let's not do that. this is really not telling anything at all, and insinuating any of them are homophobic is super unwarranted. mingyu and seventeen in general have never done anything to make me believe they're anything but supportive. i don't really follow bts anymore but i don't remember anything questionable in that regard either, rather the opposite.

that's even ignoring the fact that mingyu himself pings for many people, kcarats in particular (and the club shenanigans — which should perhaps stay off the site because 1) at least half of this stuff is fake and 2) why give sasaengs exactly what they want — don't necessarily contradict that).

also, all that aside, we don't actually know if they keep in touch or not and they don't owe us anything when it comes to displays of friendship. if i were a celebrity, if I could keep my friendly hangouts private, i would. and if the hangout doesn't involve going to a club, it's very easy to do just that.

I just feel like there are a lot of straight guys who might vaguely consider themselves to be allies and aren't properly homophobic, that would rather just not be friends with someone like that just so that they don't get scrutinized by the gp themselves for whether or not they're gay.

Jaehyun gets accused of gay voice? It's definitely softer in English, but that's about it. I still can't get beyond him checking out dudes every other day on the sly though. I'd say his image shift was less severe than Eunwoo, but he did have some points in the "cute basket" back when he was maknae and earlier in 127 in general. Haha.

I'm so glad that I found this site, because while people on other platforms talk about this topic, I never found discussions about these men. And also it is surprising to me that you are all "confident" in Jaehyun and Jinyoung being queer. Eunwoo is the only one that I was onto, like Mingyu. Then again, I've never being that much of a fan/casual listener of ASTRO and NCT (and I got into kpop fairly recently).

Fans have been suspicious for years that TXT‘s “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)” was based on a famous OTP Yeonjun and Beomgyu fanfiction for years. The fanfiction, Mad Summer, was posted on PostType by a writer called Kyrie. The fanfiction became so famous that an official book version was eventually released with the names changed. As such, the writer only releases their story on PostType for a short period each year as a service to fans who still want to read it with the original names.

Suspicions were raised since 2023, when the fanfiction experienced a huge boost in virality despite having been published years prior. Fans found too many similarities between the lyrics and music video for “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)” and Mad Summer.

1. “Bottomless Pit”
The word for “abyss” or “bottomless pit” in Korean is often “shimyeon.” Mad Summer used the unique word “mujeogaeng,” which is a term unfamiliar to many Koreans even. “Mujeogaeng” is used in the lyrics for the song.

(This tweet in particular has the translation of how it ends which is very upsetting.)



2. Romeo and Juliet
According to this fan, Mad Summer‘s Yeonjun loves the movie Romeo and Juliet. One of the most iconic scenes from the movie is the fish tank scene where the two leads meet for the first time. A similar scene appears in the music video.

3. “Say You Love Me”
The lyrics to “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)” contain the lines “say you love me, say you love me.” In the music video as well, Yeonjun hums the song in the outtro. A famous paragraph in Mad Summer reads “Yeonjun suddenly looked back at Beomgyu. Beomgyu answers [redacted]. ‘Love me, love me, say that you love me.’ Yeonjun follows Beomgyu’s humming and continues, ‘go on and fool me.‘”

4. Drug theme
In Mad Summer, Yeonjun is a drug dealer and Beomgyu passes away because of drug usage. The theme of drugs is prevalent in the music video and lyrics for the song, which read “Please use me like a drug.”

5. Heaven theme
Mad Summer relies heavily on the theme of heaven and redemption. In the lyrics to the song, the lines “I probably can’t go to heaven. It doesn’t suit me. There’s no place for me in heaven” are present.

Although it could have been a coincidence, fans wondered how so many themes were used at the same time. Their suspicions were seemingly confirmed when HYBE’s internal report was revealed at a recent audit. The report contained information about Mad Summer as a famous fanfiction amongst the fandom. It showed that the staff were acutely aware of its presence and content.

"Mad Summer: a fanfiction that was released around early days of debut. Not sure if the writer is just being sneaky, but they only release the fanfiction for viewing occasionally so as to self-manage any issues that arise. Perhaps that’s why it became a total hit amongst the 4th generation fandoms. Last week, it began trending on X that they made it public again for the first time in a long while and [redacted]. … Thanks to the fanfiction, in the early days, fantasies about the Yeonjun X Beomgyu OTP grew too big. But the two bicker a lot in real life, and the members also have the vibe of cousins who spend the whole summer vacation together, so it wasn’t a good environment for OTP stans to be active. … Currently, 4th generation fandoms are not active on PostType, but the fanfiction is almost weirdly popular. We feel that it is as it seems to be linked to how it reminds of the past-generation fangirl vibes." — HYBE Report

Yes rm contributed to the lyrics but like most hybe songs it still had an nct worth of writers.

And companies can request song writers to write them a song about a certain topic. Like "We want you to make a song about cake. give us a song about cake."

and then I go away and I write that song about cake and I come back to you and you say whether you like it or not or if u want me to change a few things.

Most kpop songs have more than a few writers on them in general.

So it's possible that rm was told what the framework/topic (not that it was based on a fanfiction) was and then he wrote whatever portion of the lyrics he wrote with that in mind.

Also the hybe leak proves that hybe was at least aware of this fan fiction and in my opinion post enhypen's debut is when things start to get creatively strained at hybe. Thus leading bangpd to steal someone else's idea, which he already had done back in 2015 with the (really gay) concept photos for hyyh for bts.

I was going to post this eventually but it's somewhat relevant in terms of bangpd "committing concept theft" so it's spoilered. Side point but this is further proof that hyyh has gay subtext.

In a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter) Duri has accused Bang Si Hyuk of stealing the “wet” and “soft, but romantic” concept behind BTS’s “The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Anxiety” concept photoshoot.


According to Duri, the trouble began when Bang approached her during the early days of BTS when the group was still relatively unknown and struggling to make an impact. Bang — in search of a sexy and appealing direction for BTS — allegedly sought Duri’s expertise as a magazine editor known for pioneering avant-garde themes.

“I, too, had this happen to me. No one will believe me, but the CEO of a company managing one of the most popular idol groups reached out to me personally. At the time, the idol group was a rookie, so things weren’t going too well for them. The CEO said that he was coming to me on the brink of going under and that he wanted my advice as an editor of ZUZN Magazine.

He said he didn’t understand what’s “sexy” about young men. And back then, I did think that the group was on the wrong track. So, I provided as much help as possible.” — Duri via X

Duri claims to have suggested the concept during a casual meeting, after which Bang used these ideas without further acknowledgment or compensation aside from a meal.

“Then… The CEO used the creative idea that I’d mentioned to him for the group’s next album. The album was a huge hit. The members were photographed in the same “wet” and “soft, but romantic” concept that ZUZN Magazine was pioneering. In fact, the CEO had worked with a photographer who used to take photos for me.

What had I gotten in return? A meal. That was it. Later, in an interview, the CEO responded using the exact words that I’d told him. Word per word… I felt so wronged, but there was no way to prove it. I didn’t have any evidence. But the CEO took my ideas from that consultation and re-branded his idol group to see huge success." — Duri via X

The album marked a significant turning point for BTS. Originally known for their aggressive and masculine hip-hop style, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1 saw the group transition to a more nuanced sound and concept, exploring themes of youth and the troubles that come with it. The success of this new direction was unprecedented and started BTS’s swift rise to global fame.

In later tweets, Duri claims to have reached out to Bang Si Hyuk again, this time applying for a position in the company’s art department. However, she accuses the CEO of never contacting her again— even after being told that they would love to work with her.

“Later, I applied to his company’s art directing team. He said, ‘Of course, we’d love to work with you, Duri.’ But I never heard back from him. Every time I see the work, it feels so unfair, and I feel so mad. I decided to think of it as a lesson learned, though, to never share my precious ideas with anyone anywhere ever again.

Duri mentioned the accusations again on X (formerly known as Twitter), saying, “I’ve also had my creative ideas stolen by that CEO. So I’ve been holding a grudge all this time,” after retweeting a video of ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin during her infamous press conference. HYBE has yet to address them.

when this song came out enhypen had just put out their album border: carnival (imho this album is peak enhypen and there's been a general downhill trend in terms of quality since then with only a few good songs like one in a billion and bills to break it up) the previous month in April and things would have been in the works for dimension: dilemma and their Japanese debut with an anime opening (plus the tayo the little bus songs), lsf was getting ready to debut the following year, the mhj vs hybe drama over her wanting new jeans to debut first was going on internally at company and the selection procees for the trainees that were going to be on &team's survival show was probably taking place plus the general planning for it.

txt, Lsf and enhypen r groups that bangpd personally over saw and now because of the hybe leak we know how petty he is about that. He wrote and produced a lot of the songs on their debut albums and early work to help build their overall concept and sound. But the more groups he debuted, the more work he had to do and the more work he had to do the less time he had for older groups like txt.

Imho the chaos chapter: freeze is a master class in incohesion. It's an album about a break up but also covid but also intended to hard launch the star seekers webtoon with the frost mv. If u rearrange the song order it makes it a little better but u still have songs like ice cream and that's such a "just say anything and see if it works" song.

Whereas minisode 1: blue hour tells such a cohesive story from start to finish and it came out when he had only 2 groups to manage and 1 survival show group that was being formed.

I don't think bangpd had a lot of time or energy to come up with original ideas for every group he was working on at that time and this could have lead him to steal the fanfic's concept (at least partially) in the hope that shippers that had read Mad Summer would see the references and spread it around thus gaining a lot of views/streams/attention for txt.

I'm simply giving my opinion about why I think hybe would have used that fanfiction for the song/mv instead of coming up with something completely original.

And yes they r supportive.

I agree about idols being theater kids. Some of them actually were in school and a lot of older idols have begun working as musical theater actors. Also a lot of older kpop songs and concepts/mvs lend themselves to a certain level of camp. Like u have to make the audience believe that u really r aliens from outer space with super powers or werewolves. A lot of the stages these days r just "look at us we're so cool and badass in our luxury brand clothes with holes and rips in them for less than 3 minutes."
