I think Jungkook is open minded not really an ally, he would maybe not pick up a gay flag or wear queer merch but if he is friends with someone that he finds out later is bi or gay he wouldn't mind or care [I don't know if that makes you an ally, to me personally it just makes the person very free and open minded]. I think i don't mind that.

Yoongi has said “I focus on personality and atmosphere. I don't have an ideal type and it's not limited to a girl.”
I think he did mean something when he said that. However, people later said it was a wrong translation and he meant something else. It totally could be a mistranslation or misinterpretation because it was a Japanese interview and it wasn't recorded they just happened to post the translation, so we don't really know what he said.

It's hard to read V. I remember when he cried reading the monologue from the Father in 'Call Me By Your Name'. It must've really meant something to him.

I think BTS is in a weird place where people think they are above the kpop bubble and can do whatever they want but at the same time they can't because they still are part of a very homophobic Korean society.

I think you might be right. I agree with having to camouflage because obviously they know what their fans want. He is afterall a performer and is under a company that asks them to render an image that makes them money.
I also think that Kpop idols have very well mastered a way to have a very different image on camera and off it.
This applies to obviously every famous person but kpop is a special case where they are selling a dream to all the young fans who think they have a chance with these beautiful Oppas. We do have rude awakenings [Taeil] sometimes, to remind us that we don't really know what the industry is hiding.

Kpop will always favor the Asian market first and one has to remember that Asia is not as open minded as the west.

Hard agree 2 all of this.

Early pre hyyh bts was so masc and trying 2 emulate big Bang.

This is masking. Nd idols already have 2 do this 2 survive in society so it isn't that hard 2 create a fake u and a real u when they get famous.

Yes and I think this applies 2 western markets 2. The first thing most white ppl say when they look at a pic of a kpop bg is they all look gay.

I think post bts getting white famous there's been a bit of a consious effort by companies 2 send the more masc guys as solo models or brand ambassadors 4 western brands.

Other than v, Hongjoong and ten I can't think of anyone else who isn't masc who has partnerships with luxury brands.

Like Doyoung isn't hardcore masc but he doesn't read as fem as ten either.

Yeah, it is really sad. That's why then there is actors and singers in their 40s and 50s still without a family, or constantly giving excuses as to why they have not settled down. Hope things get better for every queer person in that country and the rest of the world.

There's hope 4 Korea again since the impeachment.

Myung isn't a woke ally but Korea has so many more pressing issues right now that at least we can hope that he won't role back anymore rights.

Yoon scrubbed us from the sex Ed curriculum and changed the law on trans women enlisting. U have 2 have been on estrogen 4 at least six months now or they send u 2 the military.

Trans ppl aren't a monolith and not everybody medically transitions.

One of the replies to his comment is from the musician Levi (real name Jin Seong Hyuk).

Levi and V have been friends since high school. The two have also worked together professionally. Levi co-wrote and co-produced V’s song “Blue & Grey,” which was originally intended for V’s solo album. Instead, “Blue & Grey” became a fan-favorite song on BTS’s 2020 album BE.

In this context, in which Levi compliments V’s body, “총각” is often used to playfully describe youth or vitality (e.g. young man, guy) rather than someone’s relationship status. Even so, many fans are totally ready to take “Bachelor V” off the market!

Actually befor the leo pic i thought xiumin is more likely straight but after the pic i change my mind and i sarted to pay more attention to him

There were essentially two gay friends groups in Boys Planet and Taerae was close with the sassy ones (woongki, park hanbin, seo won, haruto, etc. The unnies/power puff girls/various other nicknames). He's not very fem though so he often gets overlooked. He's way cattier in zb1 than he ever was on boys planet though lol

His bromance with Matthew is also getting a little weird not gonna lie those two are getting a little too comfortable one of these days they are actually going to kiss at this point. I previously thought Matthew seemed very straight but he's been deadset on proving that wrong lately so who knows what's going on with those two.

Here's Taerae talking about the infamous fancam where it looks like he's checking out Junhyeon and his defense is that Junhyeon was the one flirting.



He's kind of laying low when it comes to new receipts though, probably because he doesn't really have that much chemistry with anyone in his group or interact much outside of it. heechul seems straight to me barring a few incidents here or there, he's talked quite extensively about his own personal dating incidents with women and it sounds very natural. he's had a few rumored boyfriends though like his friend gunhee and hangeng.
leeteuk i believe was NOT trying to come out last year but i still think hes bi or bicurious at least.
kyuhyun asexual honestly. no attraction towards men imo, maybe a theoretical attraction towards women but in practicality it feels like theres nothing.
zhoumi and donghae are a little suspicious but i dont feel confident saying anything about them because for zhoumi i havent seen enough content of him and if donghae IS anything he's probably in the closet so it doesnt seem right to talk about it.
something interesting: sungmin and eunhyuk were reportedly each other's first kiss. i've also seen it claimed that they kissed multiple times after that too but i can't find a source for this. i don't think eunhyuk likes men tbh in his earlier years he kinda seemed like a massive flirt with women but but i occasionally wonder about it.
