Right! I am always like: "wow, it has to be such a coincidence that out of 13 people in a group, half of them are all in the spectrum. I'm sure I am wrong". Kinda like in a multiple choice test when all your answers are all the same one for the past 6 questions lol. But then I remember being an idol in Korea is probably the only profession that allows someone to be more free in terms of expressing themselves and travel, so many from the community go for it. Still crazy to think the agency managed, unknowningly to group together so many queer men lol. I'm more confident in some and not so much in others, anyway (and maybe i'm wrong all the way)

Hanbin: gay also out predebut. Was basically in a house. But 4 sure deyassified 4 BP 2 increase his odds of winning.




Tae rae: gay. Probably not out b4 debut and was in the BP plastics but also didn't have a lot of screen time so he wasn't clocked by most fans. Closeted church oppa vibes.

Seventeen are sort of infamous for being similar to each other? Their MBTIs were spread out over only 4(? or some other bizarrely small number don't remember) types when they first took the test which is kind of statistically ridiculous. Part of it is that they all started to train together when they were very young and spent so much time together. I do think that the fact that they are all so in tune and similar to each other is part of why they've stuck together so long pretty much flawlessly despite being a massive group and it's part of their main appeal for sure. The predebut members who left seemed to not be gelling with the group as much socially, so there was already some natural selection when it came to group cohesion.

I think there are definitely people who stay closeted for their entire lives, live in denial or even somewhat oblivious to the fact that they may be queer (although that last one seems more common with women). I don't think it's crazy to think that the sort of bond that svt had with each other during formative years may have led some of them to be more comfortable exploring their sexuality earlier than they may have if they hadn't been put in that situation. Coups has always been the hyung of the team and he wrote that (possibly) bisexual lyric in Just For Fun before he ever debuted. Having an older male role model like that could definitely inspire something in you.

This is really just rambling but tldr I think that SVT work so well because they mesh on a fundamental level, and I think growing up together led them to likely be more open-minded and willing to identify with queerness themselves.

honestly I truly believe that it's a blessing from God that we always somehow know how to find each other.

I'm sure a lot of the queer people in this thread had a queer group of friends in school (even if you weren't all out to each other at the time) that they met organically instead of through something obviously queer like a gsa or theater.

If the majority of ur trainees r already queer then that increases the chance of having a majority queer group.
And smaller companies have limited options so they debut queerer groups compared 2 the big 4.

The only groups I think r hardcore majority queer r imfact and their successors ace.

Then it's groups like the boyz, Cravity and oneus.

Also all Korean guys have 2 choose between going to the military right out of high school or going to college/getting a job and then getting called up b4 25.

Being obviously queer in that environment is hard and sometimes genuinely dangerous so being an idol helps them avoid it 4 as long as possible.
