Not all of these are psychological thrillers.
The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn
Sweet Little Lies by Caz Frear
The Anomaly by Michael Rutger (one of my favorite books)
Blood For Blood by Victoria Selman
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
Lockdown: Escape from Furnace #1 by Alexander Gordon Smith
The Second Girl by David Swinson
The Chalk Man by CJ Tudor
Final Girls by Riley Sager
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch (another favorite)
The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood
Ah thank you. I will read them and will tell you what I thought about them.

HallyubooMe and you the same. I really hate leaving things unfinished and it sometimes discourages me from reading new books because of some underlying loyalty Ive developed to the countless books I havent yet completed. I think I'm shaping into a secret history person, I enjoyed the spread of characters, but to be fair I've gotten much farther into it than I have with the goldfinch.hey no judgement here! im the type of person who will actually power through a book i literally cant stand just to say i finished it and that i hated it and then complain about it. i really wish i could just drop a book if im not enjoying but i guess my brain just doesnt work that way lmao. ppl tend to either be a secret history person or a goldfinch person but i can say i enjoyed them equally, albeit maybe in different ways. what are the books you've read/liked before picking back up goldfinch??
What I read in between(Not much that I havent already mentioned in this thread lol):
Rabbit, Run by John Updike
Revolutionary Road by i forget
The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood
Joyland and The Body by Stephen King
Portnoy's Complaint by Philip Roth(to see what all the fuss was about)
You familiar with any of them? most of them were books I simply picked up again and some were brand new. you can guess the completion status on all of them...

no, i havent read any of those yet! although i am familiar with both margaret atwood and stephen king. i actually kind of just got back into reading this past december after years of not picking up a book. i used to read a lot when i was younger and just stopped for some reason. so now im playing catchup! do you mostly stick to the adult fiction genre? i thought i was only going to really enjoy adult fantasy/some ya fantasy but surprisingly i really liking contemporary too. most of the young adult, while really popular (youtube, goodreads) has disappointed me, save for a select few lmao.

HallyubooLife just gets in the way. I now I stopped reading because I was too busy. now that everythings slowing down I'm reading more after not having read anything recreationally for years. I just dont read as efficiently as I used to when I was young. I dont restrict myself to any one genre but most of the books I've enjoyed happened to fall into the adult genre. I'm open to most genres as long as they arent fantasy/supernatural/dystopian (no offense lol). Have you tried looking into older ya novels? When I look for a book to read I usually fish for classics and only read contemporaries if theyve been explicitly recommended to me. Do you know any good contemporaries I could get started on?no, i havent read any of those yet! although i am familiar with both margaret atwood and stephen king. i actually kind of just got back into reading this past december after years of not picking up a book. i used to read a lot when i was younger and just stopped for some reason. so now im playing catchup! do you mostly stick to the adult fiction genre? i thought i was only going to really enjoy adult fantasy/some ya fantasy but surprisingly i really liking contemporary too. most of the young adult, while really popular (youtube, goodreads) has disappointed me, save for a select few lmao.

hmmm, obviously tsh and the goldfinch, i havent read her other novel, the little friend yet so i cant say if i liked it lmao
a little life by hanya yanagihara is one of my favorites, but its huge and also really fucked up/depressing so its something i cant recommend to everyone even though i really love it. i have some contemporaries loaned out from the library that i havent started yet but here are some recs that everyone always tells me to read and maybe youll like them too?! :
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro

I'm reading Daisy Jones & the Six right now ... and I'm not understanding the hype. It just feels boring and emotionless. I know its supposed to be like a conversation but everything just feels scripted. I'm also rolling my eyes a lot whenever Daisy is described as beautiful or gorgeous or stunning, or when the other characters are praising her as cool, and amazing, and super talented. I guess Mary Sue & the Six just didn't have a nice ring to it. ??
If I weren't reading it for a challenge, I definitely would not finish it.

I second Life of Pi and Beartown. Life of Pi has been one of my favourites since I was in high school ( a really long time because I is old) and Beartown was one of my favourite reads in a long time, in fact my friend kind of stole my copy. I'd say also try Fredrik Backmans A Man Called Ove, it's a good book.
I have the second part of Beartown, Us Against You and am waiting to finish up a couple of books before I dig into it

Yes, I think it would be better as an audiobook. It's pretty difficult to differentiate character voices when your reading them as a transcript. I haven't read Evelyn Hugo either, and I'm not feeling inclined to do so at the moment! ?

I finished Red Seas Under Red Skies yesterday. It wasn't bad but really wasn't as great as The Lies of Locke Lamora. The plot seemed convoluted and predictable at the same time. But what kept me from hating the book was Locke and Jean. Also hints of bigger things yet to come later in the series were set in this to keep me interested in the series. I have read the first 70 pages of The Republic of Thieves and already it seems far more interesting than the second book. Hopefully it will keep up the standard of the first book.

Yeah it looks like it, hopefully it won't happen again.

YAAAAAAAASSSS!! I want to re-read the other 2 parts before I dig into Oathbringer, I don't know why I bought it when it just came out if I was going to wait so long to read it, but I am a weirdo. He doesn't seem to have a single bad book. Even those geared towards younger audiences are pretty good though I haven't read them all.

I liked Stormlight 1, but decided not to read the sequels until the series is finished ?
The best fantasy book that I finished recently was Senlin Ascends

I'm adding Senlin Ascends to the first post of recs, and to my want to read list it looks good
You might have to wait a while for that then, it's going to be a long series

Ahem...ain't no shame in being 30+ and still reading fantasy (points to self proudly). It is a 10 book series, but luckily Sanderson seems to work at a decent speed, unlike a certain bunch of other authors who shall remain nameless.
Have guys checked any other books set in the Cosmere?

There's nothing wrong with being 30+ and reading fantasy! There's a problem with my patience
I started with the mistborns + warbreaker, and then stormlight
