I has nothing to do with concept. JYP songs are Twice's worst charting songs in general. Even though I like this song, it is obvious public don't give a shit about JYP songs anymore. Both Itzy and Twice could've charted better.

I don't entirely disagree but even with JYP songs in that era they never charted like this - don't want to drag Itzy but Icy I find messy as hell and I'm not surprised it didn't do well, Feel Special is actually good though.

JYP era plus timing. If this was WIL period when our only competition was Winner's Everyday, EXO-CBX and 4 month old Love Scenario which we eventually lost too, we'd be charting just as well.

There are many factors, but one thing is for sure, no one gives a crap about concept. it is just an excuse. I am a Gfriend fan as well and people always like to say Fingertrip flopped because of concept change. Little do they know, Navillera was probably the fastest song fall after reaching #1 on Melon. It started the trend before the FT.

Also guys, don't forget how streaming services work. Many people simply stream the chart. It means songs that rank #1 don't only rank #1 because many people listen to it, but many people listen to it because it ranks #1 as well, however complicated that songs.

Basically it is cycle, people listen > you rank #1 > even more people listen because of your rank.

It is just like twitter trends. When people see something is trending they also comment on it using hashtag and by doing sofurther increase the trending.

Why am I saying this? Because Twice couldn't hold #1 this time because of other song. And it simply fell off radars for many people who simply listen through the chart. If they could hold that #1 for a bit, it'd bring more listeners .

JYP lost his toucn with boy groups long ago. And is slowly losing it with girl groups imo. If you really look at it, Twice was the only act that was carrying JYP digitally past 4 years. I always worried how far will it last for Twice, being well aware of JYP's old fashioned music approach and I am happy it lasted this long. Mostly thanks to BEP. JYP is still pushing that half breath half voice singing style, even with his rookie groups, I can't. The guy is too delusional.

Idk but it made them standout though 👁. SM isn’t following the trend either and is still a bit old fashioned (noticed that every group has the R&B sound to them since HOT &SES?). JYP won’t let that half air half breath sound go, no way would that happen lol.


One thing that I can applaud is that ITZY is really different. It’s proabbly hard for non-korean speakers to listen to their songs but their songs are motivating and have a amazing meaning. He just should get rid of that ZZB producer. DallaDalla did the best among every girl group and is going to get SOTY if we look at the charting and the digital streams, Unique listeners etc.

It’s going to be hard to have BEP Produce everything because they aren’t under JYP so that will be really hard. I’ve read somewhere that he’s casting producers, Song writers because he’s going to debut groups in China, Japan and South Korea, and for his young current artists. I sincerely hope that this is true because it will be really logic to do it.

Either way certainly going to be top 1 and 2 on Hanteo for Twice. Crazy amount of sales today. Don't expect too much magic over the weekend but 5100 sales is pretty much all wee need to beat Fancy You which is very very possible.

Yeah A lot of groups of the 3rd Generation seem to either have bad songs, Slow down, or aren’t even that much active which is sad.


Rookie groups debut weren’t that either memorable too, it was just ITZY and CHERRY BULLET. Other GG’s were going through the Girl crush phase, and the Boygroups releases were heavy “western” Based

Thank you! I didn't know how to quote several people. Some of y'all need to chill on the JYP bashing, as grandmajudy stated idol groups just aren't doing as well, too many ballads and osts. Plus JYP's last Twice song is What Is Love, hardly a flop song, and JYP has been operating under a de-centralized management style, so acting like the man himself has final say on everything is ridiculous. Just cause you don't like a kind of music doesn't mean other people do too.

Yeah I do agree with this at the risk of constantly trying to find excuses

Feel Special had two days to make an impact on the GP before the quick turnaround of the AKMU release which was always going to take up a lot of the publics attention and interest. The majority of the other songs in the top 10 had already stabilised and solidified their spot when Feel Special dropped but it just didn't have an instant impact and by the time that AKMU dropped, even though it was already struggling it never really got a chance to breathe, which was probably needed with the new sound. The GP are AKMU focused now that they have dropped and unless something goes viral (or something along those lines) guess it's hard to get that attention back for this comeback, especially because the ballad/album AKMU dropped was pretty top notch.

Also if I'm being cynical I feel like the headway Fancy made internationally will be a bit stunted by Feel Special - the more I think about it the more it seems like it's inbetween the taste of Japan/Korea and the West

I think they send their weekly data once in a week, usually monday or tuesday (lately it been tuesday more). You can see big jump for bts or twice old albums on some of these days
