Girl ITZY isnt popular in Japan. In terms of Public Awareness they are a D tier act at best. Creating a Kara is something that cant be done. Kara at their peak was more popular than Twice and Girls Generation in Japan. The odds of ITZY somehow becoming a Kara is laughable tbh.

Looks like JYPE is really going that trendy no melody noise kpop route after all. I liked pre-chorus and bridge though. Still a melodic improvement compared to More&More.

MV was nice but not icy or god's meny level. We basically saw everything in teasers already.

Anyway, seems like JYPE kept BUDGET and THE SONG for TWICE this year. Or they just became that bad at song picking lmao

Maybe, I don't think the song is great to be honest it will only do okay. Debut at 6 on Melon(old system) 3 on Genie and 1 on Bugs so pretty below average.

But things I took away. Much higher budget and effort MV than any Twice have had sine probably BDZ. New original song likely produced for Itzy and not a 5 year old b-side....also I saw on Twt yesterday something about Hashflags.
I think the info about how much they cost is clearly wrong. Itzy stans were saying they cost 1m per flag and they had 14...but this isn't true. They can cost up to or above 1m per campaign.

So all 14 would be part of the same campaign, but it's still likely a few hundred thousand was dropped on the advertising through the flags, which is annoying cos at this point during comeback season BTS got member flags in the past, BP did too and so did JYP for Itzy.....but Twice only got them for their song title and group name.

This is getting to be kind of annoying. We're paying toward a group that gets a lazy plagiarized MV, a lazy 5 year old rejected b side pulled out of MNEKs garbage can and even the bare minimum on advertising. Take into account the 14 hashflags for Not Shy likely cost more than M&M's entire music video and the cost of acquiring the song from MNEK. Bullshit.

God that company is testing Once a LOT. Calling that piece of shit #Twice 3 an 'album' too is a joke to attempt to justify it's fucking 50 Dollar msrp.

I never put too much credence into them.

A mini seems a waste - you feel like a 5 year anniversary is fairly significant that we should getting something more than usual. If we get the same mini, same roll-out and whatnot, just a waste. You feel like Twice and the fanbase have lost momentum in the last 2/3 months, now with the big Twitter accounts closing/moving on as well, the mood seems completely different pre-More & More and that would definitely exacerbate it.

Feel like we just had to move on from M&M to build hype for the next release and now we're getting an English release of it, couldn't make it up. I don't understand what they think it's going to achieve. I get that it was the idea from the start but once they saw the reaction, and then things like what happened on MNEK's twitter, there was no reason to not take it off the table, it'll most likely add nothing except remind people of the disappointment. And as expected, Republic have done nothing to promote any differently so far anyway. Feel like the company has barely made one correct decision for Twice this year


Also, does anyone know if this ADLV thing Twice model for are big in SK? It feels like they shot an entire catalogue for it going by the number of pictures I've seen over the last few months.

@NewUser On ADLV, yeah it's a pretty new clothing line(I think 2017) but it's been building hype really fast in SK. A lot of idols wear it and it's pretty up and coming trendy stuff rightnow. It's def a smaller brand and was a surprise to me they could even afford Twice, but looking at the way it's been with a whole line for Twice and some other major brands ADLV are working with right(Disney, Kakoa) makes me think it's not a regular advertise for us and get paid deal, more so seems like you likely also get a cut from the Twice line too.
It kind of hits a new demo' Twice have struggled with in SK, that younger 18-30 year old trendy, urban kind of crowd so it makes a lot of sense and is one of the few good ideas from JYPE imho this year.

But totally agree with the M&M Eng points and more so what makes less sense is the fact that they chose to release it on the same day as BTS first ever Eng song too...knowing almost all of the Kpop community and media will only care and focus on that legit no one who isn't a Once will give a fucking shit about M&M.

But on the point of the 2nd full album, the direct translation closest to Eng is the word regular. They also repeat this word(according to direct trans from BusinessKorea.co.kr) 3 times in the paragraph to describe the next Day 6, Got7 and Stray Kidz albums. So I think ppl took regular to mean full and that only makes sense if you think Twice, Day6, SK and Got 7 are all getting full albums in the next 4 months lmao.

It's also worth pointing out no where in the report does it make any special or distinguishing references to 2nd or 2 or give us any indication that this is the 2nd full album which it usually would. It just says regular album, which pretty well means EP.

Yeah I really don't know. Misa thinks it's a full as well as Twice Charts but both caution that these investor reports are sometimes wrong. I am tightly crossing my fingers for it.

Wonder what suddenly changed at YG. Jisoo now getting a leading role in a kdrama, which is also the next drama for the writer after Sky Castle i.e. the biggest kdrama of recent years? Fair play. Going for the kill.

Watched Itzy new comeback, JYP at this point doesn't care how much harm he causes to Twice and Itzy every time he drops some underwhelming bullshit, he's literally only doing for the money and relevancy he gets when he produce for them, this is a never ending nightmare. JYPE is also still working with Naive, I want to throw up.

btw, all jyp fandom is getting bigger and bigger it seems? but kinda fallout when it comes to public listening to them??

Twice spotify is increasing ever since Fancy.. Pre-fancy, it was only japan which hard-carried the streaming.. Since then, all the other SEA countries spotify stream increased a lot.. MM might be a disappointment to a lot of us but I think that it was still able to secure the momentum of the group in intl scene.. Increasing the album sales on next cb wont be a problem at all, me thinks~

YG hasnt changed. BP dont really ship merch and dont have a deep enough back catalogue to live off of legacy sales.

So since touring is dead til prob 2022 the only way to make money off BP is by releasing new content. Should touring start up again they will be shipped out for the year just like 2019.

not really tho, i dont find SSK3 song appealing to me to be honest. its just measure hot or trendy within the country i guess

but i will agree what you say if the song is good it will HELP the charting to be better
