Well, half of 14 is 7. That would make any dance-offs 7 vs 7 aka Major vs Minor, with the cut-off line right in the middle. It really does look like the final group size is 7. But JYP can always do a +2 rescue again. Imagine Rio and Ayaka getting rescued at the end of season 2...

I was rooting for Miu...I bet her voice would of really blossomed w proper training but it is what it is I guess. The most likely 7 member lineup see atm would be:
Mako-Leader, Main Dancer
Miihi-Lead Vocal fotg
Rima- Main Rapper, Lead Dancer
Yuna- 4th member of the JYP monolid legacy, lead rapper, dancer
Suzu- down to earth charm, oldest(?), all rounder
Nina- Main vocal, international fan visual/stan attractor
Ayaka- Japanese fan visual/stan attractor

but honestly at this point I would only bet on Mako and Miihi for sure being in the lineup the other 12 are very strong but I could see any of them not making it

It's a bit strange that we don't really know how many people they are taking to Korea but here's my guesses after the showcase performances. They wouldn't just take 9 right? What if one of the contestants doesn't last thru the 6 months training for whatever reason?

Also how much weight do Sana and Momo's opinions have (if any)? Also why do those two BFFs always have the same opinion? They really do share the same braincell.

I assume that JYP will consider the input of other staffers since he wasn't around for their actual training. The staff will know who learned the fastest, had good attitudes, helped others, etc.

Nizi Girls:
Suzu - solid rankings throughout, praised by Momo and Sana
Momoka - praised by JYP
Rio - muffed part of the showcase but has advanced dance skills and seemed very helpful to the other girls

5pm:
Mako - the future leader of Nizi, lock
Akari - good natural performance skills even if seemingly slow learner, praised by JYP
Ayaka - is just kind of likable and goofy, kind of awkward in singing/dancing but just puts smiles on peoples faces whatever she does, praised by Momo and Sana

Dalla Dalla:
Yuna - kind of uneven performances, as a JYPE trainee you figure she'll get in, praised by Momo
Nina - best vocal talent even if seems to be slow on picking up dances
Mayuka - what a surge at the finish line, surprising she wasn't highlighted earlier in the program, seemed to have a good look/personality, praised by JYP

Miss G:
Riku - she had 3 cubes already even if JYP was mad at her for blowing off his advice
Rima - seems to let her nerves get the best of her during performances but pretty solid all around, praised by Momo & Sana
Maya - 3 cubes already, praised by JYP

TT:
Miihi - lock, praised by Sana/Momo/JYP
Riria - JYP really likes her but keeps talking about her conditioning

If I had to pick 9 right now ... tough call to be honest picking the last few members
Mako - leader
Miihi - ace
Nina - main vocal
Rima - rapper
Akari - young talent
Ayaka - visual, personality
Rio - dancer
Mayuka - solid all around
Suzu - raise average height

that still would leave out Maya, Momoka, Riria, Riku, Yuna all who JYP has liked quite a bit at times during season 1
14 for 14 correct

1. mako
2. miihi
3. maya
4. rima
5. riku

7. nina
8. suzu
9. momoka
10. rio
11. akari
12. riria

14. ayaka

I guess everyone enjoy my selection of the final 9 too.

If there is another cut they can keep them as JYPE trainees for next girl group for Korea.

I knew it that it would have been 7! Every member would represent every colour of the rainbow. And it would match their group name too.

My opinion about episode 10 :

Miss G :

overall they as a team they were good it wasn't perfect but it was still a good performance .

Maya : i only her she kept grabbing my attention she was defenitly the center of this performance good stable vocals , good dancing skills and perfect expression acting .
Riku : her vocals were great , the parts where she sang with maya were perfect . She also was shining very brightly during her part she grabbed my attention completly when it was her turn she was overflowing with star power . Her dancing is stable i personally didnt notice any problem but if she fixes it she'll be more amazing for sure . I personally think she did great
Rima : she did great it felt like there was something missing i didn't see her star power that i saw before maybe she was nervous ? I was like ok it's rima now but she didnt grab my attention like she used to .
Rei : stable vocals stable dance she tried to do expression acting but she should not have done cute expressions i think she forgot the meaning of the song poor kid she was great though she didnt have any star power though
Ayane : good dancing good vocals the concept perfectly she failed to grabbed my attention and i didn't see any star power in her its like she was just focused on singing and dancing good < i was rooting for u girl :( >
Funa : average vocals and dancing i didn't notice her much .

Team TT :

Miihi : nothing to say she was perfect like always deserves all the praise it mustve been hard on her being the leader when she's very young but she did a good job just give her that debut contract already .
Riria : i already commented about her before seeing the previews so i won't repeat what i said but seeing the whole performance proves to me again that she did a good job .
Kako : i disagree with jyp her vocals were good very stable a vocal level you would find in atleast one girl group member she was charming grabbed my attention & had good dancing skills too i agree with jyp on that !
Miu : she did good i don't remember her as much as the other three but i think her husky voicee and not doing expression acting as like others is what made jyp think she looked amateur because its a cute song and her voice didnt fit it i personally thought she did good dancing but i dont't remember her as much as the other 3 its like she was hidden if she did expression acting at least it would cover her average dancing skills like jyp said about maya its like unless it was her part she was hidden even though she technically wasnt since there was only 4 of them .

Overall i was surprised like most of you i assume from what i understood jyp said these girl will be getting ready for 6 months in korea to debut meaning these are the final members it is indeed kpop with a little bit of jpop having 14 members in this group thats what the project is i guess so are they going for " no we aint just the rainbow itself we are double the amount of colors in it = We have many charms kinda concept< There is the twice influence 😮 plus the concept which im guessing is gonna be cute & fresh >
Edit : or they could go with a Senbatsu system like many Jpop groups and Rotate members for the title track and be divided into Senbatsu & Under girls Team . Senbatsu sing the title track & under girls sing the Bside but then again 14 is too little for that system & its a cruel one in general so probably all of them will sing in all the tracks kpop style .

overall i like this lineup everyone's favorite's are in plus some dark horses and hidden cards mayuka and momoka i was so moved when jyp announced mayuka's name its been a while since i saw a group where i like everyone in it and want to cheer them on good luck girls . Nina , Rio , Ayaka , Riria got the personality cubes along with the top 6 which made them move from two cubes to three and get in thats awesome i was so happy for rio she was about to cry when he gave her that cube .

Looks like before the announcements or after they gave some personality cubes but they didn't show us that :

The ones that didn't make it :

kako , Kyoka , Miu , Ririka : kako is a decent performer very charming on stage, great personality also if the korea thing was a training like we all thought not preparing for debut she might had a chance , Kyoka too . Miu better got that personality cube at least she's everyone's best friend the nice kansai unnie/friend that takes care of everyone i bet she wouldve been picked too if it was a training thing i'm gonna miss these 3 the most . Ririka just grew on me she's very charming not that impressive
Hina , Mei , Funa , Moeno , Rei , Erina , ayane :

expected they werent jyp's favorites from the start and most of them havent shown any improvents . But i felt bad for hina,Moeno,Rei,Ayane . Hina for obvious reasons and rei & ayane for them great dancing and i think one of them was praised by jyp for her singing in her first audition dont remember which one but these three moeno , rei & ayane if they put extra work they couldve pulled a mayuka especially moeno she was praised for her vocals before if she worked on her dancing she wouldve impressed jyp .

Looks like they put up a playlist with the original songs covered on the show. It's on Spotify, Apple Music, RecMusic and DHits.

There's some drama where some people are saying that Akari was a Sana-anti before this because she suspected either Sana or Tzuyu was dating Jungkook. Apparently she was/is a BTS fan

Yikes if true or this could be Onces go after someone innocent. I honestly don't know.

I don't think anyone has to worry about it. If it's real she will be eliminated and if she's not eliminated than it is false. JYP Entertaiment takes a dim view of anybody throwing hate at ANYBODY. It doesn't matter if it is a person in the company or a person that is a rival of the company that is the target. JYP is the ultimate strict company on manners and that sort of thing. Also it is a bit strange that she would have had a Twice poster in her bedroom if she is an anti of one of them. Not impossible but a little odd.

I would like to start this by again underlining that the girls had very little time to prepare. Even when I criticize someone's performance I'm not making wide ranging statements about their talent or ability to improve but rather just a snapshot of that particular performance.

Miss G team seemed to have a tough time preparing. Rima helped the girls with the Korean pronunciation but had to leave to make her rap so they had a lot of hurdles. Having said that I think they did the best they could considering the circumstances. Maya stood out for sure. The key they sang on and her tone fit the song very well. She had great stage presence and portrayed the concept of the song really well. Not sure she learned Korean while training at YG Japan but maybe she did and that helped. Her dancing was good, she was a bit careful with her moves during her singing parts, probably to not make a mistake, but nothing too awful. Towards the end she seemed a bit gassed and you could hear it in her voice, but that can be easily fixed with a lot of practice and physical training. The girls seemed very stressed by what they showed us and I'm happy despite all that and the short time she managed to keep her nerves and deliver a great performance.

Rima looked like she was helping the girls with the lyrics a lot, also was stressed, and the overall mood of the team looked down by the footage. She had a hard time writing the rap in such a short time. Came performance time though she nailed it. I'm not knowledgeable about rap at all so I can't judge how well she did in writing it or performing it, but I can say she had great stage presence and also nailed the concept. You put her and Maya together I would say they are ready to debut. She did well with the dance for the most part. Made a couple of mistakes I noticed and missed the beat a little bit at one point, but came right back and picked it up again. It felt to me she was listening to the song while dancing and following the beat, which allowed her to get back into it after she slipped up, so I would put that on short time to prepare.

Riku didn't perform her best imo, maybe because of stress, the short time also didn't help. I think she was off beat dancing a lot. She missed some of the moves. Her vocals were ok. She seemed to be straining her voice a little bit at times, and was off beat singing a couple of times. I wouldn't say it was a bad performance, but I think she could have used a longer preparation time more than some of the other girls. Overall I still think she can sing and dance at a very high level, so I wouldn't put much weight in this performance. I can't however ignore her mistakes.

Funa is a very pretty kid to me, but she is behind a lot of the girls in dancing and singing from what we saw this performance. She is probably among the furthest away from being debut ready by K-pop standards. Her moves were stiff and sometimes lagged behind. She didn't really hold her key very well and lacked rhythm. I wouldn't say she can't improve, but she needs more time than the other girls. She also ran out of breath a lot singing, but that is more of a practice and training thing rather than talent per se. I think she has some stage presence but it was overshadowed by her struggles with singing and dancing. It will be interesting if she shows up later on as an entertainer of some kind. If she has any interest at all I think she has the looks to be an actress or a model. Depends on how much she wants to be a musical performer.

Rei is another interesting kid. She has long limbs and is a good dancer which makes her moves very charming. Her vocals are behind her dancing skills, but still she did a good enough job imo. She was a bit shaky at times but had a nice tone. A few of her moves looked a bit awkward but they weren't many and I suspect is just because of her age and getting used to her growing bones. I like her stage presence too.

I think Ayane danced well enough and sang decent enough given her level, but she didn't stand out. She didn't have a strong enough stage presence to draw your eyes while performing. Even though she didn't mess up her moves she couldn't showcase her charms during it. Taking into account who JYP is and what he has said in this show I think that is a bigger issue than messing up dance moves or singing poorly. I think the girl has talent but still hasn't learned how to turn that talent into a complete performance.

I would say the team did a good job even after a more tumultuous preparation period.

TT Team got probably the best song out of the 5 in terms of being both in Japanese and a song they were all familiar with. I think they did a good job with it. Miihi was nervous about being the leader and losing Ana because of her injury was a big blow to them. It's a shame she had to leave. I feel for her but am happy to see she is doing well on her youtube. Seemed like Miihi really helped the girls out with the moves during practice and that despite all that they had a fun time practicing. She is a really cute and nice kid. I think she absolutely killed the performance too. Absolutely amazing stage presence, danced very well, sold the concept to a T and sang great. This was a perfect marriage of her skills and the song choice. Again really highlight both how good JYP scouting is and how much difference professional training makes considering all 3 Japanese trainees imo are debut ready and really nailed the group performance.

The biggest issue with Riria was that she ran out of breath really fast. I can't really judge her singing because she just couldn't sing on her second line. She started with a nice tone, a little bit shaky but not too much, but then just ran out of breath. I also feel it translated into her dancing too. She was a bit sluggish and my guess is because she was out of energy. Even with all of that I think she showed some stage presence and potential. I think with a lot of stamina training we'll get to see her really shine.

I think Kako did a great job too. She had a charm and danced well, sang fairly well too. Nothing breath taking but a nice tone that didn't go off key. I'm happy she got to be part of this and enjoyed the stage even if she felt she had no chance of making it. Seemed like a great kid too.

Miu to me has charms and it shows on her performance, but her stage presence needs work. She didn't mess up the dance and she didn't make huge singing mistakes, but I feel she put on a safe performance to not make mistakes. I would like for her to have been more bold and show more of her personality in it even if it meant missing a dance move or going off key singing. Do a bolder move, go for a higher cuter key. I don't think she played to her strengths by being safe.

This team put on a nice show, Miihi kind of eclipsed everyone though.

I liked the group performances but still and forever will say that I wish they had more time to prepare. My favorite performance was Again & Again, but all the girls did a great job.

Now I will wait for a good translation or the official translation before I argue about the second season format. Maybe we will have an answer before that depending on when in April the season will start airing.

Regardless if this 14 are already the final group or not I think almost everyone saw the selections coming. Personally I would have brought more girls to Korea. If this is indeed the final lineup I would have picked Ririka over Momoka. Kind of sad she doesn't get to debut with this group but will support her on her other group now. I was kind of worried for Rio and Riria but seems like JYP decided to take a chance on them. I don't think any selection surprised me. I also would have liked to see Rei, Miu, Hina, Ayane and Moeno to get another chance. I think this was too short and they still had potential to improve with professional training.

We'll see what 2nd season really is about. Kind of crazy that we went through all this and it's just the beginning. Also curious how the current world pandemic is affecting the show. Because the girls have been training since before this started and this just blew up right in the middle of season 1 and now that we are supposed to watch what they have been training up to now to debut I can only imagine at the end of season 2 I can't imagine the debut won't be postponed. Unless they do a digital only thing, which isn't common in Japan, but they have been opening up to it more and more every year.

Akari was becoming one of my faves and it's a shame that this is probably going to cause her to be kicked from the show( I dont think she is anti of Sana but a immature kid tweeting wrong things.) I think JYPE doesn't need this bad press and especially some from the very fans they're trying to target with this show.

IIRC, the final group will be revealed at the end of S2, but their actual debut won't be till the 3rd/4th quarter of this year. We've got some time, but there's no guarantee this crisis will be over by then either. Still, they will be debuting in what will likely be a global recession, which no doubt will be a worrisome for JYPE and Sony.

As for Akari, (if it is true) she was a middle school kid fangirling on twitter. A lot of kids make immature throwaway comments like those on SNS all the time, most much worse than what Akari supposedly wrote. Unfortunately, much in the same way that she was possessive towards the BTS members, some Onces will be equally as protective of the girls. It's unfortunate that S2 will start with this kind of drama hanging over it. Mind you, I'm pretty sure that S2 has already been shot / footage already in the can, so I don't think this drama will affect her positioning. But the twitter stream during S2's airing will get messy. That's good if you are agency that thrives on drama, but not so good with JYPE.

It really does go to show that stuff you do on the internet can one day come back to bite you in the ass. Seems to be plenty of examples of that nowadays.

So did some digging. Some suspect items on the tweet about Akari.

1) From what I can see the original post is from a person @u_vl2r that jellyjelly translated from. That account "u_vl2r" was created this month. Jelly's translation is 9 hours old and u_vl2r was 11 hours old. Can't find anything earlier.

2) u_vl2r has only one post.

2) u_vl2r has zero followers and only is following 5 people.

Starting to sound like a hatchet job. But again. Time will tell and I won't start or push rumors.

Yeah we still dont know if that account was Akari. That user who translated the post haven't given us any proof whatsoever. Anyways I'm sure JYPE is looking into this as we speak so hopefully this whole situation gets sorted out.

LOL. What is going on? S2 hasn't even started yet. :doge:

Sigh...I just want to enjoy S2 in peace and without drama. We have enough real-life drama to contend with right now.

At least the info didn't really leak out that broadly.

Why are these trainees being allowed to keep SNS? All this stuff should have been scrubbed when they started the show.

I think the lineup will be 7. It makes the most sense in my opinion. 7 colours in the rainbow, their group name is likely going to be Nizi, 7 is the most plausible option. As for who I want in the group, I think Mako, Miihi, Rima, Nina, Ayaka, Momoka & Suzu is a good lineup. You have girls with diverse talents and they're all pretty. If it ends up being a 9 membered group I'd add Maya and Rio or Riku

I've been following Nizi Project thus far and I think that the lineup of girls that have made it to Korea is quite good. Personally I would have wanted Ririka, Miu & Ayane (a.ka. my favorite with the cutest audition, who was robbed of a dancing pendant...) too but the decision has already been made.

Out of the fourteen girls that have moved on to the korean training camp I think that the top 9 will end up being: Mako, Miihi, Rima, Nina, Akari, Riria, Riku, Rio & Ayaka. Tbh I feel like the nine of them would make a good group though I think that the group is planned to have 7 members (but with JYP creating it he could pull a TWICE).
