3.) Riria
4.) Mayuka
5.) Mako
6.) Rio
7.) Maya
8.) Rima
9.) Ayaka
10.) Nina

Unfortunately Yuna, Hina, Momoka, Erina, Ririka, Kako, Kyoka, Hina, Mei, Funa, Miu, Riku, Moeno, Rei, & Ayana does not catch my attention very much.

Aw what the heck! She was one of my top picks for debut lineup!! I had calculated that training/S2 would wrap in April so this is confusing, but I still feel like the most likely explanation is the lineup has been finalized. Even if she was snatched up right away, doesn't a debut project like this take a little more time to prepare for before announcement? Unless I guess they felt confident enough in her abilities after training and want to ride the Nizi free publicity wave. Whatever happens with Ririka, I truly wish her the best and it will be hard not to continue rooting for her in S2.

Side note: I think JYP/producers really did Ririka dirty in the ep. 9 showcase performance. Overall she was the most well rounded in the Dalla Dalla group and hard carried those duet lines between her and Yuna, but didn't get any recognition for it. Lame.

Honestly, I don't think she was chosen to train in Korea if she is in this new project.

It's a bit strange that we don't really know how many people they are taking to Korea but here's my guesses after the showcase performances. They wouldn't just take 9 right? What if one of the contestants doesn't last thru the 6 months training for whatever reason?

Also how much weight do Sana and Momo's opinions have (if any)? Also why do those two BFFs always have the same opinion? They really do share the same braincell.

I assume that JYP will consider the input of other staffers since he wasn't around for their actual training. The staff will know who learned the fastest, had good attitudes, helped others, etc.

Nizi Girls:
Suzu - solid rankings throughout, praised by Momo and Sana
Momoka - praised by JYP
Rio - muffed part of the showcase but has advanced dance skills and seemed very helpful to the other girls

5pm:
Mako - the future leader of Nizi, lock
Akari - good natural performance skills even if seemingly slow learner, praised by JYP
Ayaka - is just kind of likable and goofy, kind of awkward in singing/dancing but just puts smiles on peoples faces whatever she does, praised by Momo and Sana

Dalla Dalla:
Yuna - kind of uneven performances, as a JYPE trainee you figure she'll get in, praised by Momo
Nina - best vocal talent even if seems to be slow on picking up dances
Mayuka - what a surge at the finish line, surprising she wasn't highlighted earlier in the program, seemed to have a good look/personality, praised by JYP

Miss G:
Riku - she had 3 cubes already even if JYP was mad at her for blowing off his advice
Rima - seems to let her nerves get the best of her during performances but pretty solid all around, praised by Momo & Sana
Maya - 3 cubes already, praised by JYP

TT:
Miihi - lock, praised by Sana/Momo/JYP
Riria - JYP really likes her but keeps talking about her conditioning

If I had to pick 9 right now ... tough call to be honest picking the last few members
Mako - leader
Miihi - ace
Nina - main vocal
Rima - rapper
Akari - young talent
Ayaka - visual, personality
Rio - dancer
Mayuka - solid all around
Suzu - raise average height

that still would leave out Maya, Momoka, Riria, Riku, Yuna all who JYP has liked quite a bit at times during season 1

Looks about right to me, though the last few spots are toss-ups. Even though Yuna is a JYPE trainee, I'm not sure if she'll be able to make the final group. Her lack of self confidence is holding her back.

LOL. Maybe they learned from Sixteen, when the final seven ended up becoming the final nine, and some people made a big deal about the rescues. Sigh...all those Sixteen conspiracy theories...

Looking at some of those nervous and emotional reactions in the preview, I suspect it's closer to 9 than 20. If they do take 9 now, the final group will have to be smaller since S2 is supposed to have another elimination round (IIANM). I think the number they are taking back to SK will be based on who they think has enough potential to benefit from and survive the more intense training, which is probably the same approach they take in selecting new trainees at JYP. I do have to remind myself sometimes that this isn't like the PD series with its preset format.

JYP's definitely relying on staff input - during the vocal / dance ranking, they did show him sorting out the rankings together with other staff members. Momo and Sana's opinion will probably be weighed in along with the other trainers, but probably more weight given to the trainers' assessment since they've had more time with the trainees.

I do wonder if the Sony staff have any input in the process, or whether they're just observing at this stage. After all, this is supposed to be the JYPE Kpop process.

Regarding Yuna I've given it some thought and I think when you get to the last few spots of a say a 9 person group, the more important factor is fandom/public appeal. You should already have enough for music production purposes with your top 5-6 members. The #8 #9 vocalists aren't going to get many lines anyways. Just get someone that can bring in the stans. Sure Yuna is better at singing/dancing than someone like Ayaya but the latter is more marketable as japanese suzy junior.

I'm hoping they take more of the contestants to SK (at least like 15) just because I don't think 4/5 days is enough time to decide. They take a look at the regular JYPE trainees for years sometimes before making a decision on a group's lineup.

Of they’ll only take 9 members, then the group will probably end up being 7, representing the 7 rainbow colour (hence the name Nizi).

I'm hoping for even more than 9. If they have further reductions in Korea then they really need at least 11 to 16 girls. Otherwise it wouldn't be that interesting (drama wise) If they plan on debuting all the girls they take and are comefortable with between 7 and 11 in total they need to take a minimum of 1 more girl than what there minimum would be due to possible dropping out of the girls.

Kind of looks like her, hard to tell. If it's true it's a shame but oh well. Wish her luck.

At least she was able to leverage her time on the project to pursue her dreams through other means. Hopefully, others who didn't make the cut will be able to do the same.

So everyone was guessing an odd number 7,9,13 and he pulls out an even number... grrrr...
Well, half of 14 is 7. That would make any dance-offs 7 vs 7 aka Major vs Minor, with the cut-off line right in the middle. It really does look like the final group size is 7. But JYP can always do a +2 rescue again. Imagine Rio and Ayaka getting rescued at the end of season 2...
