The JYP produced song both teams will perform seems like will be the debut song. Can't speak Japanese so not sure, but it sounded like that's what they were saying on Sukkiri. It definitely sounds more like the kind of concept I was expecting them to go for rather than Niji no Mukoue and Boom Boom Boom. Youthful, energetic and playful. Kind of curious why they decided to do a more mature concept for the final mission themed songs. Also the group name reveal thing. I don't mind the name Nizi but it makes me think they are gonna name the group something else. JYPE imo is usually terrible at naming groups so I was happy with Nizi (not Niji or the kanji ่น btw) so this kind of makes me a bit scared. Not that it matters because we've seen countless times bad names don't hold anyone back. I just don't want anything with numbers on it. JYPE has done a better job with Itzy and Stray Kids imo, even if Itzy is kind of out there, but better than a common english word like twice. I hope for no number, number association and no one common word that makes it hell to search about the group later. If they do this whole name reveal tease to just say they are gonna be called Nizi I'm going to laugh but be kind of happy.
Next episode of Nizikake to also feature model and actress Takahashi Maryjun and comedian Tsukaji Muga.
Looks like the debut song is called "Make You Happy".

Later today, at around 09:00 am Japan time, Sukkiri to show Maya's team performance.
Looks like Hulu decided to air every episode of Nizi Project for free, i.e. no Hulu subscription required, on the 20th and 21st in anticipation of the final episode. Part 1 episodes 1-10 will be available throughout the 20th from 02:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Part 2 episodes 1-9 from 02:00 PM to 11:00 PM on the 21st. On the 20th from 02:00 PM for part 1-1 NTV announcers Mori Keisuke, Omachi Reo and Sato Machiko will be featured. On the 21st from 02:00PM for part 2-1 NTV annaouncers Mori Keisuke, Sugihara Rin and Sasazaki Rina will be featured. They will be part of ๏ผใใธใใญใชใณใฉใคใณๅๅฎฟ (#niziprojectonlinetrainingcamp) to talk about the show.
Here is the live airing schedule, episode numbers on the left:
All times are Japan time.
Link for the live airing: https://www.hulu.jp/livetv/345
Not really relevant for us International fans, but still interesting to know.
Sukkiri also to air a special program on the 21st at 01:15 PM Japan time about the show. It will be around 45 mins long including commercials. Will be reviewing all the trials the girls went through. Will feature all the girls, JYP, NTV announcers Mori Keisuke, Miura Asami, and comedians Kato Koji and Kondo Haruna. The last four are all regulars on Sukkiri. My guess is this is probably just another recap special about everything we saw so it's safe to skip it and not worry much about it. The taglines and timing of it indicate it is the case.

It sure feels like the girls are super stressed out. Not sure if it's just the 6 months training away from family or if the pandemic might have added to their stress.
Having original songs presents a entirely new challenge. It's basically what they are gonna have to do when they debut. Get a song and try to make it yours. It is definitely harder than covering something that gives you a guidebook on how to perform it and be enticing. I would say both groups didn't quite manage that. Not sure if the concept didn't fit them or if the stress just pilled up too much or what. A couple girls pulled it off but overall I'd say 80% of the girls had a tough time. I can't quite judge the concept without translated lyrics so a lot might change when we have that.
Niji no Mukoue isn't quite what I was expecting by the audio snippets and their outfits, but something pretty close. I was expecting something more hard hitting and kind of teen crush, and it started like that and had moments like that, but also had some more standard pop moments. Not a big fan of electronic music but the elements of it in the song aren't really overwhelming enough to discourage me. I just thought as a song it was kind of trying to do too much. It lacked a sense of coherence. I know some people like this kind of mix and match of styles, but I personally feel like it hasn't been done well yet, and it usually ends with a disjointed affair that doesn't quite hit home.
The editing was a bit weird too. It felt that at times they were live singing, but others the song and the girls performance was out of sync. It isn't uncommon for producers to mix in rehearsals and different performances together for a better cut, but this time it was too noticeable.
I think Mako is one of the few girls that managed to get a hold of the concept and because of that her stage presence really stood out. Because this team was weaker vocally she had to take on some lines I don't think she has the range to, but she did well singing despite that. The song would sound better with someone like Nina singing it, but that is how the teams were divided. I felt like she was stable enough and I think half her lines suited her very well, but the other half could have done with a higher note. I think as usual she danced pretty well. It's harder to judge because it's a bigger group with 6 people and it wasn't a dance camera but the parts she was on screen she looked good and the dance drop near the end she did a great job.
I don't quite agree with JYP on Rio. I thought she did well, but I wouldn't quite put her on the same level as Mako. It is pretty clear to me that they are focusing more on what the girls can do and not what they lack as they head to the end of the show. So I understand ignoring her vocals. At this point you know what each girls limitations are and you are just trying to figure out how they fit in the final group. Not sure if she nailed the concept because her and Mako had different expressions at times and I thought that Mako's fit the song better, but maybe the lyrics will change that. Her stage presence was good though. I thought she really managed to portray emotion and make it a real performance and not a training session. Her dancing as expected was pretty good and I'd say on the same level as Mako's. Her singing wasn't bad but you could feel the limits of it. I think she did the second best on this group.
I really liked how Akari's voice fit this song. She wasn't perfect singing but her tone and vocal color really brought out the best of the song imo. I thought at times she was a bit too quiet and a bit shaky, but nothing egregious. If she cleans that up some more with training it would really be a great addition to a group. I thought she danced pretty well too. She had the right power in her moves and didn't look stiff or awkward at all. Her stage presence was inconsistent though. I felt like at times she looked lost and worried, but others she was into the performance and had great expressions.
Riria's voice is very pleasing. She doesn't have the range you want in a main vocal but she has a nice tone that is really useful for a lead vocal. I feel like she still isn't 100% ready to perform at her fullest though. She still had one moment she sounded breathy and a few moves it looked like she was holding back to not over-exert herself. She danced well for the most part, but once or twice I thought she could have used more energy on her move even if it didn't look stiff. My biggest fear with her is that her stage presence is just ok. I don't think she has none, but she never stands out and that is huge for JYP.
I felt like Yuna did a pretty good job too. her rap wasn't as hard hitting but I think that is more on the song than on her. She sang pretty well to me. Very slightly breathy on one occasion but nice overall. She danced pretty well too. I only noticed one mistake that she had to rush to her position but nothing else. Her stage presence also seemed fine. She might get a knock for also not standing out, but I thought she did a good job with her expressions.
Ayaka vocal and dancing weaknesses are apparent if you focus on her, but if you just watch the performance normally you don't notice it. She didn't dance very poorly, but you could see a few stiff and awkward moves this time more so than during Heartbeat. Her vocals aren't strong but this time they didn't stand out as much for being overly post-produced. The issue is her stage presence didn't show again this stage. It felt like she was worried about doing well and it came out on her expressions. She looked great but couldn't stand out to me. I would personally say she was the weakest in the group for that reason.
Overall I think the girls did well, not a perfect presentation but I thought it was a pretty balanced showing between the middle 4 with Mako and Ayaka at each end. I definitely agree with Wooyoung though that you could see they were mostly all nervous and this wasn't the best performance they have put out. Which is a big part of me thinking the stress is getting to them.
I genuinely had no idea what to expect from Boom Boom Boom. The outfit, dance and audio snippet to me all screamed a different kind of concept. The dance looked a bit girl crush, the outfits look flashy elegant and the audio sounded a bit girly and dancy. In the end it is something like a girl crush club song which I guess kind of fits all of those descriptions. I think as a song it works better than Mako's team, but the genre is less my style. I think the concept especially doesn't fit the girls. The choreo was alright for the most part but had a couple weird moves I won't be blaming the girls for not pulling off honestly. The singing also seemed very processed more than Nizi no Mukoue. It's such a weird choice by JYPE I don't really get why they chose this one.
I agree that Rima was the stand out. I thought she was the only one that had a performance that made me think this is her song. Her stage presence was great. I think she put out a concept that was this sassy confidence that really meshed in perfectly with the song. Her rap was very impactful. Her dancing looked good during the whole song too. I would disagree with JYP and think her and Mako's performance were on the same level this mission.
I also disagree with JYP on Riku. I don't think she did particularly poorly, but I also don't think she did better than the other girls. This song really didn't have any singing parts that stood out to me for any girl, and Riku's biggest strength wasn't displayed. She danced pretty well, but didn't take over the stage with dancing. Not that I expect her too, but to single her out like he did she would have to for me. Her stage presence also didn't come out to me. She had one time I thought her expression was good, but for most of the song I feel like she had more of a blank stare. I kind of wish they gave Maya's team the first song and gave Mako's team a new song with some choreo the girls could really stand out.
The one I personally thought did the second best in this team was Nina. She didn't have any stand out singing parts, but neither did anyone imo, but I thought she had the second best stage presence in this group. Her dancing still showed a bit of stiffness and awkwardness, to a point that I disagree with JYP. I don't think it's nerves that held her back, I just think that she has and will always have trouble dancing. But again I don't think it's to the point it stands out. You have to be paying close attention to her to notice it, so I don't think it's a big deal for her in the future group.
Miihi is the one that sounded least like herself. Not sure if her slump from last mission is worse this mission and they really covered up her voice, but could not recognize her voice if I was only listening to the performance. I thought she had pretty decent stage presence despite a very foreign concept. Her dancing was fine too.
I thought Mayuka did pretty well. She showed a lot of personality on her first rap part. She danced pretty well, one or two awkward moves, but mostly good dancing. I think her stage presence was there but the concept was a bit disconnected with the other girls. At times she had that smug expression I think fits the song best but others she seemed too happy and bright. I think she did better than Riku, but not as well as Nina.
Maya to me did well, but her expressions and stage presence were all over the place. It felt like every time she was on camera she was doing a different concept. Not sure if it was nerves, stress or just confusion with the song's concept. I can't really find fault on her dancing or singing, but I was always thrown back trying to figure out what emotion she was going for at all times.
I think this group also did fairly well, but they seemed more disjointed than the first one. It's hard for me to judge unbiased because Boom Boom Boom really isn't a genre I enjoy and the girls all have reached a similar level of skill. Ultimately I would agree with JYP that I liked Mako's team better though. I think Mako's performance, Rio's dancing and Akari's vocal color all added up to more highlights than Maya's team. It's a close call and I don't think either were the best performances by both teams.
Next song should be better for me to judge because from the little I've heard it's a style I'm much more a fan of.

Now one thing that was very concerning is the lack of comments for Yuna, Akari and Riria. At this point I feel like the pictures we've seen of the girls on the street is 90% the final lineup. I thought at least Akari and Yuna deserved comments. I'm not worried about Mayuka because she was on the picture and she ranked high on the popularity polls. I hope I'm wrong. A lot of people are pointing out JYP's advice for Yubin also. He said something about having to make hard unpopular decisions for the better of the company. Now I don't quite go as far as saying he said that because of anything that happened in Nizi Project, but it is a general philosophy that makes sense, and is right, but does not bold well for girls he might not think fit the group. I won't dwell on it too much, but I don't really have a good feeling about the final lineup.

For the 2nd post, I'm sure that's manager. All of the other girls are wearing training pants and casual shirts while that female has jeans and a stylish collar-like shirt + nicely tied curled low-ponytail.

Yeah there's definitely a clear higher probability in one direction for these debates but the knets are still arguing over it because they want their fav to have been in the candids.

LOL. So, JYP announces the number of trainees, but the audio is blanked out. But you can tell that it's a two syllable word before the -desu, and the second syllable is -nin or person. The numbers that are out are 6-roku, 7-nana, and 8-hachi. That leaves 5-go, 9-kyuu, and 10-juu. Anything above 10 is multi-syllable so that's out. From the shape of his mouth, it does look like he's saying kyuu-9, but it could still be juu-10 or go-5 since the mouth shape would be similar. 5 is unlikely, if we believe those recent pictures, so 9 or 10 it is. I'm gonna go with 9.

I'm going to go with 10 just mainly to have a contrary number just in case.
I think having a 10th member would cause formations to be a bit of a contrast between what Twice does and this group will do. It allows for a hidden member in the back to come out from the back in a diamond type formation.
