I love the look of the website. I’m really glad the girls kept all their names and didn’t get awful stage names.

We didn’t get the live performance (I guess it was a mistranslation) but we have a confirmation on a variety show coming. I’m glad they’re giving us a lot of content and keeping the hype of the from the show going.

My Opinions about the final episode :

either i dont like make you happy as a song or the video im watching from has bad audio 🀣 love the lyrics song not so much

good job overall πŸ‘πŸ‘
Mako: fantastic
Rio: singing was great improved once again rapping was fire
Akari: did so great i love her voice
Ayaka: she worked hard did great again improved so much but theres nothing special but she looked like a girl group member she fit with her team she didnt cause them trouble she was just average
Yuna: i relized i prefer her rapping over her singing she did good
Riria: fantastic good luck girlie

#vocalqueens, if im being honest this team overall all did better than makos they felt like an actually girl group not just girl group members it felts like i was watching twice or something ( maybe because their outfits remind me of twice πŸ˜‚) unlike with makos team it felt like i was watching a trainee team with outstanding members & great teamwork they didnt just sing great they danced great too i was happy watching them didnt worry like i did with makos team maybe because makos was first? Maybe
Maya: excellant
Nina: fantastic, loved how she pronounced the english words correctly instead of pronouncing them the japanese way some jpop/kpop girl group members do the oppisote even though they are fluent english speakers & sing as they are told to get it done in some parts she did sound out of breath like the dance teacher told her in training but overall she was fantastic
Riku: a singing queen perfect !!
Mayuka: my baby!! Sang & dance great & slayed her rap part so proud of her
Rima: same with nina about the English thing , rapping was fantastic, singing was very good and danced great
Mihii: better job than last time surprised she rapped i thought it would be maya it was ok fine she wasnt bad but shes more of a vocal in my opinion she rapped when she was too tired so it wasnt much speaking of vocals πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ One of her best performances in the season glad she got back on her feet sang great ,danced great her expressions were fantastic for me if i had to rank her performances this season 1-nobody 2-make you happy 3- boom boom 4-very very very 5-feel special . I loved her so much in this performance season 1 perfect student mihii is back&better than ever she looked like an idol and more than ready to debut

Seeing their last interview i dont want to say goodbye to any of them 😭😭😭 its weird telling someone who came this far bye you did good but we dont need you anymore go reset ur life again 😭😭

NiziU: it sounds like a game 🀣 the way he pronounced it sounded like he was saying "20" in japanese i had hope for a sec 🀣 Like something might happen turned out it means " need you " it feels weird though you have twice the charming girls that will impress your eyes & ears & itzy the perfect girls who have everything in them then you have need you its like he says they are still lacking . When he announced the number their reactions πŸ˜πŸ’”πŸ’”

1- Mako πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ well desvered
2- Riku πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ also well deserved so proud of her
3- Rima πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ well deserved good job angel
4- rio !!!!!!!! I knew she was gonna be in this and was locked but im still so proud as a person who knew her before nizi i cant help but tear up you been through so much girlie 😭😭😭 πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ ganbare !!
5- Maya πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ you did it sweetheart good job
6- mihii πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ good job forget the past & continue like you did today & youll slay you deserve it
7- mayukaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant scream so imma scream here ahhhhhhhhhhhggiycdyxutxiufciffcickkufciucruk i knew you were confirmed but im still so happy for you my child my miracle child you showed us that miracles could happen thank you so much hope you enjoy your idol life ill support you with all my heart 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
8- ayaka πŸ‘πŸ‘ congrats expected good for her
9- Nina πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ if he wasnt gonna call her name i was gonna call him a rasict against halfs finally she was so anxious i dont blame her for breaking down & crying you did it girlie πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ i knew her &ayaka even though they make mistake jyp was gonna regret not including him if he somehow did Like momo in sixteen

yuna, riria, akari: akari&riria were great i'm guessing there were still some attidue issues thats why especially akari she was fantastic hope some company picks her up soon

Edit: just saw the variety thing so excited for that

The annoying old man on sukiri kept joking around and mayuka didnt introduce herself properly i cant beleive the lady with the glasses didnt notice shes the nice one ( in the niziu interview)
Edit: if by variety you guys mean niziu 9 stories from the sukiri interview what i understood is that its a compliation of the journey of the 9 niziu members so far . Also i wonder how will the girls debut if make you happy is only a pre release& they are still in korea when they are supposed to be a jpop group with kpop concept and why only 7 made it to the stray kids thing so many questions
Edit2: love how they chose the season 2 cube as their logo <3

I also wanted to say how glad that Make You Happy and the songs on the show are pre-debut releases. I was really worried that this was going to be what they debut with. Going forward I wonder how their management team will promote them when it comes to Korea. There are hype and potential that I'm sure JYP wants to explore but Sony will most likely want them to gain a fanbase in Japan first.

Honestly, this is what I'm so curious about going forward. This is going to be a jpop gg but they seem to be staying in Korea and practicing there. I feel like the girls are going to be promoting in Korea fairly early after their debut in Japan.

I believe they were meant to stay in SK following the group debut to train further for another 6 months or so. Their actual debut isn't till 4th quarter of this year, and I recall talk of them staying on to train and improve their skills further. Most of the girls don't have the years of training that other trainees have, and members like Ayaka can do with additional mentoring on her vocal skills. Their current trainers are (I believe) in-house JYPE trainers, so NiziU moving to Japan would require a lot of alternative arrangements to be made.

What will happen in the weeks leading up to and post-debut is another matter. To promote in JP, it makes sense for them to stay there. But the girls still need dance trainers and stylists to support them regularly, so either JYPE's Korean support team shifts to JP, or they train up a JP team to do things the JYPE way. Only thing is that COVID19 has created a lot of uncertainty over future activities, and it may be that we'll be seeing things like live streaming, online interviews and virtual concerts for a lot longer than we would all like. In that scenario, where they are located would be less important.

How long are Japanese promotional cycles typically and what sort of events would they attend? I've heard there aren't music show culture like in Korea. Wouldn't their comeback promotions be relatively short unless they actually toured the country with showcases/hi-touches? Would it look different than other JYPE artists that have sizeable following in Japan e.g. Twice, 2pm?

Japanese artists do have music shows they just dont promote on it weekly & it isnt a must like kpop idols usually for jpop idols you'd have a teaser or two a month+ before the qlbum then the mv after a week or 2 sometimes 3 of the main track ( some also release mvs for the bsides too or some of the bsides ) then a few music shows , talk shows/varietys/photoshoots All that before the release by a few weeks then when th album is out they vistit cd shops do interviews sign posters promote the cd & get ready for handshake events which lasts for a couple of months almost a year im not familiar with jyp artists promotions in japan or artists that use the hi touch system tbh but im familiar with sony music idols & thats how major/big idols promote

edit: note i said "idols" not artists because there is a big differance at least in japan there is . What it is i dont know i mostly stan idols. So their promotion schedule is depending on how jyp wants to promote them japanese idols ? Jyp ent new group ? & also will sony be active in managment or not ? That is also a question. my guess is they will follow this plan but instead of handshake system their will be hi touch events or they will have a promotion plan like their seniors

I guess it would depend on which idol group you use as a reference. Twice are mainly focused on performances / showcases / concerts / high-touches and the occasional talk show, but scripted since 2/3 of the members have basic level of Japanese. Other than concert tours, they are generally in and out pretty quickly. 2PM focused a lot on concerts and fan events if I recall correctly. But back in the day, Kara used to do a lot of variety shows, including game shows. With NiziU being a fully Japanese group, their promotional options are going to be a lot wider than a typical Kpop group since they all speak Japanese. They've already been invited to Sukkiri, and I can certainly see them being invited to other morning / talk shows. I'm sure there will be some discussions over JYP's "kpop training system" over the next few months. (I have to hand it to the guy - he really managed to boost his own PR standing in JP during Nizi Project.)

I guess the question is whether NiziU will promote as a Japanese-speaking kpop group with typical Kpop promotional activities, or whether they'll incorporate Jpop-style activities as well - stuff that Sony Music is familiar with. My knowledge of jpop idol activities is pretty dated, but j-idols tend to do much more ground-level stuff meeting fans, performing outside the Tokyo / Kansai region, etc. Though some idol-focused variety shows like AKBingo are no longer airing, Arashi's variety show is still going strong. Also...not to jump the gun and jinx everything, but brand endorsement can't be that far away - Twice and Itzy were doing it pretty much from the get-go.

Anyone know whether Nizi falls under one of the divisions in JYPE (and which one), or are they a separate thing due to the partnership with Sony Music?

They aren't under one of the existing JYPE Divisions (1-4). Supposedly under JYPE Japan but who and what resources that is actually comprised of is a question mark. I think you mentioned they don't really have extensive infrastructure built in Japan to support the training, etc yet. Even if they have separate mgmt they still are leveraging a lot of the main headquarters resources (at least initially). Not sure if Sony music will start getting more involved at some point.

It'll be interesting what tools they'll use for fan engagement showroom, vlive, instagram and how quickly they get that up and running.
