not to be weird and parasocial but this actually made me so sad. we need to talk more about how jarring it is to see a face the same way for years and years and have it suddenly change so drastically, when it was completely fine to begin with
did hoshi fr get his teeth reworked? i never noticed, probably because i was so stunned by the fact he got veneers in the first place, so if he did that's good as they were really artificial looking. carats on twitter are acting like people are being overdramatic and weird about all the teeth work they're getting BUT the fact that they're all getting this all of a sudden, especially when it's clearly not needed since their teeth are in fine condition, is weird? like this isn't normal? i'll never rock with veneers when not needed, sorryyyyyy
Frankly I'm sure eating disorders are very common in the idol world and even non-purging disorders can mess with your dental and oral health pretty bad. Maybe some of them have teeth that look fine from what we see but actually aren't doing great.
Pure cosmetic/self esteem/etc issues are part of it of course but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were genuinely because of tooth damage that's just been hidden decently. Of course veneers are just hiding the problem anyway but idols can't afford to have their teeth looking bad.

Lurkeroh my god maybe he didn't and i've hallucinated it??? LMAO i'm trying to compare his 2021 teeth to his current ones bc i swear they look less blocky now, but the side by sides look the same
i think he was just thinner in 2021 and so his teeth looked bigger in comparison
i guess in seventeen's case there might be some kind of peer influence going on, and of course it could be due to reasons mimenet mentioned. but i am also so not rocking with these veneers
i just can't get used to them after being used to their old teeth for like 8 years

I totally understand btw like yes it is parasocial of us but at the same time its weird to see them do so much to their face when there was nothing wrong with it in the first place. I think a lot of idols are gonna look very uncanny valley in the next 10-15 years

Lurkerare there any idols you guys think look a little different recently but you can't tell if they actually got anything done? for me its:
- mina, tzuyu, and chaeyoung from twice. mina = maybe weight loss? tzuyu = lost some volume in her cheeks just due to getting older? chaeyoung = new makeup style + colored contacts + weight loss?
- chaewon from le sserafim, her cheeks look ever so slightly slimmer and she looks just a little more mature than before. ever since perfect night era but could just be due to new hair color/style or makeup
either way, all look gorgeous whether or not they got anything done or just had a glow up between eras

Yuqi. Her weight loss+nose work+different styling starting in Tomboy made her look like a whole different person to me. I can never really figure out what's so weird about her nose. This comeback I feel like she looks more like pre-tomboy Yuqi but also her nose contouring is weird? Sometimes it looks like she suddenly got a Hybe nose?

Lurkeri am so oblivious about plastic surgery i have never been able to point out when people get work done, i got a video about twice sana's surgeries and it flipped my world because i couldnt believe it! however as a once and a momo bias i have noticed the change in momo since i started following them during ICSM era, i think she got fillers done bc her face is not quite as chiseled as it was, i thought it was maybe weight gain but some other posts back up what i think.
can anyone help me identity what type of work she's done? i know she's gotten more filler on her lips but how do cheek fillers work or look? and people have mentioned that her eyelid surgery isn't 'good', that it's noticeable, etc, what exactly gives it away?

LurkerI'm new to this site so I'm just gonna ask: is it normal that i don't see any updates in the thread for 1-2months despite refreshing and checking every other day? and then suddenly one day all the posts of the past few weeks update all at once? for example: i've been checking this thread almost every day since the ariana grande comment. and only today all the replies made since then (jan 31st) were shown to me. this happened to me before, sometime in late 2023 when i first came over from onehallyu
If by notifications you mean the in-website ones, it usually doesn't update unless you clear the alert from your notifications, otherwise it just adds on "there may be more replies" to the notification it already sent you.
If that's not what your issue is then I would suggest posting in the ask a mod thread in the rules section!

From what I remember when I used to follow twice momo got work on her inner and outer corners to make her eyes bigger, double eyelid surgery, regular filler for her face and lips, crowns, and I think people mentioned in the original OH thread that she may have touched her nose? but cheek filler can tend to look very pillowy and make a person look very overfilled because they add filler to get the 'plump youthful' look but they need to keep adding filler to 'maintain' the look but adding more and more filler stretches out ur face making you need more filler every time and filler never fully dissolves so it just keeps being added together and filler migrates too which can contribute to the bad look (and for momo specifically you can find pictures of her looking overfilled and shes had the overfilled look for years now regardless if she loses or gains weight). And for bad double eyelid surgeries its because the line is very deep, it leaves behind a noticeable scar when they close their eyes, etc.

Since we've only seen one image of these girls, some of it might just be eyelid tape and editing. Definitely some lip filler here though, but imo there's a lot of girls here who don't look like they've gotten much done. I think he got it done last year, I remember noticing it when they promoted ISTJ. Seems like it was around the same time as Jaehyun. He always had a little dip there though so I think that makes it even more noticeable.
Also the editing on these pictures is all sorts of bizarre. The crazy white washing and upping the shadows and contrast is almost definitely making things look more severe than they really are. Kind of baffling photo editing to be honest, never seen someone retouch a photo like this before lmao

Lurkerchenle always had really hollow cheeks/a gaunt look. he is very skinny. his weight is pretty low. (51-52kg at lowest times)
he gained weight. he talked about it actually. he feels insecure about it. he said he has to lose weight because he doesn't like how his face looks lately
