b. He goes to meet Daisy Basset and finds her drinking a cup of tea by Edmund’s side. After greeting them, he asks if she remembers having a scullery maid called Margaret. She says she doesn’t remember the help that well as she rarely interacted with them except for the Housekeeper and the cleaning maids.
c. As the maid was being kept in one of the rooms that houses the sick, it meant passing through a few dark corridors. As he walked down one such corridor, a heavy object hit the back of his head making Poirot lose conscience. His attackers drags his body over to the garden and then further into the thick woods that surround the estate. He is left there wounded and unconscious. As the snow falls, burying his body amidst the bushes. Poirot breathes his last.
d. He meets Mrs. Hollow in her bedroom. Even though her hair is dyed black, her wrinkles gave away her real age. She looked far more young and bright on saturday than she did today. Granted she also had a daughter on Saturday. The woman looked at him sorrowfully. When he asked her about Margaret, she says that the girl was fired by the Bassetts for being a thief but her sister vouched for her honesty. So the Hollows hired her.
