I hope it returns next year, it would be great if the audience could shout. But the event requires a lot of organization from different parties. Aarin, Stardust, the various magazines, the chosen groups and their agencies etc.
But maybe some of the groups make an appearance on Momoiro Uta Gassen this year

Momoclo had some new CMs recently. Kanako is in an online CM for Uniqlo ("Unikuro") and both Rakuten Travel and Suzuki released new TV CMs. The Suzuki CM is the traditional New Year's sale and the Rakuten Travel commercial is winter themed.

The time table for Momoiro Uta Gassen is now out!

There were some changes as a few performers got covid or were close contacts. Hiroshi Tachi, Tomomi Kahara, and Rina and Tanaka Saho from Crown Pop are out. They are replaced by wacci and Amefurasshi's Moeka and Yuzuki.

There is a lot to update at the start of the new year!
Momoiro Uta Gassen was held and many of the Stardust Planet groups released interesting videos! It's going to take me a lot of time just to decide what to post.

In the meanwhile I'll post the results of the Idol Music Awards 2022 where Stardust groups placed in the top 10 in all categories. Batten Girls placed first in "Album of the year" and the favorite group categories.


Two Stardust groups also announced the biggest concerts in their history!
Tokisen will hold a two-day concert in Yokohama Arena on January 27 & 28 in 2024
Iginari Tohokusan will have a concert in Pacifiko Yokohama National Convention Hall on the 29th of December 2023

She will also collaborate with a hotel in Yokohama for her solo concert in March. The "Yokohama Tokyu Rei Hotel" will temporarily become the "Yokohama Tokyu Reni Hotel" in early March.

Amefurasshi, Batten Girls and Iginari Tohoku San performed at Japan Expo Thailand. Performance videos can be found on Youtube. It also looks like they got to spend a couple days in Phuket after the expo.

Stardust Planet Festival was also held, but this time they changed it so instead of only voting for one idol they decided on a group based on the results on different challenges (like basket ball, running, dancing, drawing etc). Iginari Tohoku San and Ebichu were tied for first place but Iginari Tohoku San won after rock-papper-scizzors.

off topic but i first watched Sailor Moon (the original) in 2016 / 2017 and i thought this arc was Anime filler

hopefully the movie version is better

TEAM SHACHI is collaborating with SKE48 unit Coming Flavor (also from Nagoya) with the single "I's PRIDE"




The song aren't that exciting but it's fun to see Shachi collaborate with other local groups. Like when NMB and Tacoyaki Rainbow performed together years ago.

I think they announced it so far in advance and in such detail because it's their 15th anniversary year. They usually announce releases in good time but that usually means a few months. It is nice to get some assurance of activities in the future. When Momoka left the group in 2018 there was speculation that they would disband, but every year they kept announcing concert venues a year in advance and that was a big relief. Momoclo are so far into their careers now and they are approaching their 30s so they will have to slow down activities eventually, but they are established and seem to want to keep going for a long time so I am not worried anymore. I'm more concerned with some of the sister groups but my favorite ones are doing all right so they should be fine for the moment.

I haven't heard anything about Momoclo being involved in the latest movie. There was a new group launched which has an official connection / branding deal with Sailor Moon, so maybe they will be involved.
