Yahagi Moeka's 1st photobook sold 6,604 copies in the first week.

Well ...its very bad BUT thats pretty much what 48g members sell nowadays for their photobooks ...unless you're like Kato Rena (best 48g photobook ever imo), Yukirin or Shiroma Miru.

BTW anyone knows if management released the handshake sale numbers for round 8 and 9 ? I looked everywhere but I can't seem to find them (its like they hide it lol). They went directly to resales.... Maybe the sales were really low again , so they just didn't bother releasing them

for the lack of sales i'd say the reasons are: shes still underage, not a famous member, she's still pretty new.

I did cut her some slack this time tho by acknowledging that most 48g members have pitiful sales like that nowadays well its true that I don't like her but I feel like im fair in my criticism, all her sales are awful ...I mean she was put in center of a main single , given a solo concert and a photobook months after her official debut and every numbers show that she is average or below at best in term of sales... a lot of young members have way better numbers than her and I'm just pointing it out so I don't think I did anything wrong in that...Why should I chill when im just stating facts lol..

Tbh I would a bit nicer to her but that girl didn't perform in the theater for freaking 10+ MONTHS...so no I won't ever be chill when talking about her.

You never know what happens behind the scenes man! The girl is litterally everywhere! Who know maybe managment is not letting her come to see if the fans really want her because in 48G mngmnt decides stage lineups or to make the fans want her more because that happend to zumin former keyaki member she said she wanted to join group activities but management kept telling her not .and managemnt doesnt give a shit about k and are more focused about have at least one popular girl in each team so they seem like they care somehow about team k and that is changing thank god now that komi tomu and naru are getting more chances or the girl could be having a hard time at school catching up she could have a health issue management is hiding its her peak why blame her yukirin only came to theater 5 times last year and you didnt say and at her peak didnt come at all same with all other " aces " most of akb dosent care about theater if moeka is that horrible and dosent like akb we wouldve known by now and so far from what we've seen it looks like she's doing her best @niyin's point was your choice of words is very poor and very cruel to say to a minor

i can understand the salt don't get me wrong lol, i can see what you mean because in a group like this the meritocracy is very important (even if most of the times aks doesn't give a fuck), but shes still underage and has for sure a manager and adults who are behind her, the dynamics about this is very cloudy so can't say much about this because is just speculation at this point

about the sales can't say much, they decided to put her in the spotlight when, like i said before, shes has a little fanbase and had even a scandal so that definitely didn't help (btw can't honestly remember how her solo concert went)

also, about the theater, nowadays isn't as much as relevant as before so again i can only imagine that a) might be her choice, because shes interested in other activities b) her manager thought that wasn't relevant to her career in akb

and obviously with this discussion i don't mean u don't have to dislike her or else lol u can do whatever, i just feel that management and whoever is behind her is at fault

Which young members have better sales than her? Since if we want to base on the latest Sustainable HS (Resale round 2) rn, the only young members in AKB who are selling better than her are Yuiyui, Kuranoo Narumi and Yamauchi Mizuki (and 2 of them are in senbatsu) - if you want to put 48G it would be plus Miku + Chiho. Moeka is still ahead of other young members and is still best selling member in Team K.

Even then, you can't really compare between Yamauchi and Yahagi sales either, there are glaring differences between them. For starters, most of Yamauchi Mizuki's slots are gimmick slots, while all of Yahagi slots are non-gimmick slots (this is the part where a lot of international fans missed). It's generally understood that it's way easier to sell non-gimmick slots compared to gimmick slots. Gimmick slots are known to drag the members sales down the drain (e.g: Honma Hinata - she had to change to gimmick slots for next single, Takino Yumiko - look bad on number online, yet her lanes are still full and aren't starred for oshi-mashi). I bet if Yahagi still has full gimmick slots she would already sold out (or almost sold out) by this round now.


Even if the slots aren't full, we need to see until the event day itself to see if the slots are starred for oshi-mashi to actually gauge their popularity.

its not clear to me what their debut mean, i think it will be something similar to yoshimotozaka, i see boys but there are girls on the stage??? but i really don't know lol
ill say it now, don't come @ me, but this is something a 00's tsunku would do

Yuiri wasn't considered young to management, neither did Okada Nana nowadays (the new gen seems to be comprised of the 15th gen onwards).
Yuiri refused to appear on TV performance for theater before this so management probably doesn't want the same thing to happen (or whatever reason that they have). Management (and also the fans) have been searching for AKB's new ace hence Moeka makes complete sense (she's new, popular, makes more buzz than other young members (even before her solo concert) etc etc).
P/s: also in the previous single, both Moeka and Yuiri have the same amount of slots, and both don't sold out everything either - their sold out differences aren't that big too.

Both Yuiyui and Naachan got their center chance just a year ago, I wonder why many have been forgetting this (since it's also the fans who wanted fresh and new faces to be akb ace, management might be as well just wanted to test the water with someone new).

The business perspective is the management who has the numbers and data, so the non-gimmick slots still triumph over the gimmick slots. There's a reason why they always prioritise non-gimmick members in songs position and pushes, even if their sold out slots aren't high on paper.

Members who gets center position will always get hate, no matter how beloved the member is. Moeka just happened to be the one who talked about it (and it also happens that someone actually translated it) - it doesn't mean that her haters suddenly increase tenfold (also since they have to pay for handshake tickets then there isn't really any loss there).

Since there isn't any sousenkyo now, how full the handshake lane is would be the only visible gauge of popularity to fans lol.
