A mixed bag of "news"
Here is a somewhat strange account of an Ebichu fan seeing Reni
OP was in a convenience store on a rainy day when all of a sudden a girl with a plastic bag on her head entered. They thought it was really strange but then realized that it was Reni. They left the store without saying anything, but as they were exiting they heard Reni shout "take care!".
In other fan-related news, Kanako recently updated her IG saying she found a sweater she had to buy (for obvious reasons)
As you might expect, it has been in high demand among fans
Former Cheeky Parade member and current Rose A Real member Suzuki Yuriya went to Disneyland with Arin
Some more photos from Tokyo Motor Show, ft Shiori about to slap Kawakami
Finally, idk what's going on here

Southern All Stars' frontman Keisuke Kuwata was on the radio last night when a fan asked why SAS won't hold a New Year's concert this year. He said he was getting old and couldn't resist the changing of the times. He also joked that he'd be performing as a member of Momoclo this year.
Note: SAS usually perform at Yokohama Arena for their New Year's concert, but this year it will be the venue for Momoiro Uta Gassen.
This makes me wonder who'll perform at Momoiro Uta Gassen this year. We'll obviously get quite a few Stardust groups. Apart from that my dream guest would probably be Ikimono-gakari, but that seems very unlikely.
Edit:
Former AKB member Itano Tomomi will be appearing on the next Hapiclo.
I wouldn't mind her appearing at Momoiro Uta Gassen

Some fans noticed Momoclo sitting to the side watching after their secret appearance at the Summer Picnic concert
Impressive eyesight

BOLT released a video of their new song, "Koko Kara" ("From Here")!
The song is both catchy and easy to listen to, I'm very pleasantly surprised!
I wonder if we'll get a proper MV, without the talking parts?
New Momoclo member profiles
I'm not sure exactly what changed except for the photo.

This is a project I've been working on for the past few months. At one point I scrapped it, but then I was inspired and decided to pick it up again. I intend to make a thread for it on Hallyu+ since I think it might interest some other people, but I'm going to have to cut down on the number of photos. I still don't have a good way to end it and the Momotaro info probably needs to be edited, but it's as close to finished as it will probably get, so I think it's time to share it.
Edit: I really should add some sort of conclusion at the end. I'll probably do it tomorrow.

The part about Momotaro was maybe a bit long but I personally enjoyed it as I learned something new. Now I understand why they went with Onigashima, it fits the peach theme! I also liked that you found a WaB live video, I've never seen one from one of their concerts before. I just hope it's not taken down.
Other impressive stage concerts, from the top of my head, are Momokuri 2015 (at the ski resort), Tohjinsai 2015 and one of the women's festivals. But it's difficult to find good videos from these, especially Momokuri. And 3 Tohjinsai would be a bit overkill.

I'm getting hyped for this Ebichu album!!!
That was a great read and initiative!

Glad you liked it The most tedious part was searching for all the photos. It was hard to find ones with decent resolution for some of the older concerts. Their Japanese Wiki was really helpful for details relating to the concerts themselves, but strangely MomocloMania 2019 doesn't have an entry yet. The link just takes you to the official page which only has info from the 2018 concert.
Yeah, I didn't want to include any unofficial videos, but that perf of WaB is so great, I just had to make an exception.
The Momotaro part really should be shortened. There's a couple other small changes I should make too. The gladiator helmets from MomocloMania are a throwback to the giant heads from one of their concerts in either 2013 or 2014, so I should make a note of that.
Thanks for the suggestions. I debated about including Tohjin-sai 2015, but the article was already too long, and I think the set wasn't quite up to the same standards as the 2014 and 2016 shows. There are clips from it in the digest video I posted at the beginning, so I guess it was featured after all, lol. I excluded the ski resort concert for the same reason as Tohjin-sai 2015. While it was a cool set, I don't think it was quite as epic as the others I featured. Maybe I'll do a post in the future about underappreciated Momoclo Stage Sets Actually, now that I think about it, a retrospective on their Christmas shows might be a good idea. Xmas isn't too far a way
To my knowledge, this is the only official video from Momokuri 2015. All the others I've found in the past were uploaded by fans.

Shachi "appeared" on the drama CHEAT (the one Momoclo are singing the theme song for)
Now that's some PR
Kanako's IG update, probably from stay gold dance practice?
I'll also take this time to post some individual HP photos that were uploaded on their twitter
Samples:
Kanako.
Reni.
Shiori.
Arin.
Extra:
Arin.
Arin again.
Reni.
Shiori.
Don't forget to tell me if you decide to rewrite it/make it into a thread, so I can check it out again!
I can imagine... It's really difficult finding the right, high-res photos from events, especially old ones.
You could do the post about underappreciated stage sets a bit like this:
"When discussing great Momoclo stage sets, most people immediately bring up [link to your own thread], but I am here today to showcase some criminally underrated ones..."

If/when I make the stage thread, I'll definitely keep you in the loop! I think that one will be a little more refined than my blog post. I really like your suggestion on how to introduce the underrated set thread! I'll make sure to give you credit if I get around to writing it

Dang. More often than not, I'm sleeping when these MVs get released
Speaking of releases, I'm going to start putting together the "Best of Stardust Planet 2019" list soon. I thought doing one for the entire year would have more impact, which is why I decided not to make one for the first half. It was also possible the second half turned out to be a dud, so this was a safeguard, lol. I ended up not getting the list for 2018 done until well into January of this year, and I want to get a head start so I can post it within the first week of 2020. I already have a rough idea of what songs I think should be included, but I'm curious which ones you thought stood out. Just like the Best of 2018 list, I'm planning to only include songs that have an official MV. Of course, I'll accept live MVs.

My favourite releases? It's difficult to pick but I'll try, and also use this to quickly discuss my feelings on the year so far.
2019 has been a great year for SDP in terms of music releases (member line-ups is another story) for me. 4 groups stand out, imo: the Stardust sisters (expected?) and Hachiroke. Interestingly enough it's all for different reasons, too!
Starting with Hachimitsu Rocket, Chuuken Hachiko remains one of my favourite songs of the year. These days, it's largely because it stands out so much in terms of sound to the other songs. It's not a song I can listen to that often but I do love coming back to it once in a while. As for Rocket Future, right now I feel like it's also one of the better SDP releases this year. I love the intro, and all things considered it's good listening but the chorus is slightly lacking.
Now on to Team Shachi, what I loved about their year is mostly the way the group is headed with their image shift and sound. It's just been very exciting. Rose Fighters is my favourite Shachi song this year, although if Dreamer had been released this year I'd gone with that. Rocket Queen is also a good song, but what really makes it great is the whole concept/mv/tie-in with Megaman. It's so much fun! I did not care that much about Rock Away and Gulabu Jamun.
As for Momoclo, it's been a great year for me. Most notably the song concepts/styles have been quite different and interesting. The songs have also been very solid. In that way, their fifth album might actually be their best. The only issue for me is finding a song that stands out from the rest. Right now, I'd probably go with The Diamond Four or Roadshow, although there are songs whose concept I like more (most of the songs in MCZ). Odoru Ponpokorin was fun, but it's like the 100th version of that song so I won't say too much about it. stay gold on the other hand I absolutely love so far.
I do, however, feel like Bunny Gone Bad is still probably the best rock song from SDP this year. If only it had an MV.
Now onto Ebichu they probably have the highest peak this year for me. Trendy Girl is just such a great song. It's both very easy to listen to and somehow catchy. If I had to pick one song from SDP that I believe anyone would enjoy, that would be it. Some of Ebichu's releases this year haven't really impressed me though. But I would like to wait until their next album drops before I really sum up their year. There's atleast one other single I like a lot but right now I can't remember the title and don't have my headphones with me. I think it might be Donten though. It's interesting how the Ebichu songs I've like the most this year have been mellow...
As for songs from the other groups that I like, I find it difficult to find standouts. Maybe Motto Motto Motto Hanasou Yo, and Koko Kara seems promising. I want to wait until a proper mv for that though.

I saw mentions of it on twitter but the official account hadn't posted anything about it by then
It's probably because they want to stand out on their own without the Ebichu comparison.
Their new name also references this, as uka (羽化) is when insects leave the cocoon and become free
Basically they're spreading their wings like butterflies

I'm a bit too tired to go into anything lengthy, but I agree that the Stardust Sisters were standouts this year. Their releases are pretty consistent, so you're right about it not being too surprising. It was definitely Ebichu's year. Just so many great songs.
I liked Rocket Future, but was really disappointed with the MV. I can't believe how much they cheaped out on it. The girls still did their best which makes it even more frustrating. A live MV would have been much better.
Outside of the Stardust Sisters, I think that this was also TokiSen's year. They're the first of the newer groups to really break away from the pack and they seem to have found an audience. I really liked both of their singles and expect more good things from them in the future.
I'd also like to give a shout to Takoyaki Rainbow. "Let's talk more and more - Digital Native Generation" made up for an otherwise unremarkable year for them. I think it's one of the stronger releases in the second half of the year and the MV is hilarious.

I suspect it's because they've wrapped up their year long digital project and will be making their major debut soon. As abra said, it's a good time to re-brand and create their own identity.

Shizuoka news ran an interview with Kanako
A-rin updated her blog~
Includes some more photos of her and Suzuki Yuriya (they are high school friends)
All in all there are a lot of pictures, and apparently Toy Story 3 is her favourite Disney work
I also found out that Tokisen will hold "Tokikuri" at Nakano Sun Plaza on the 21st of December and a Zepp tour next year:
5/4 Zepp Yokohama
5/5 Zepp Nagoya
5/23 Zepp Namba
5/30 Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO)
I think I enjoyed Koi no Shapeup the most from Tokisen this year, it was a fun concept and entertaining MV.
I agree that Tacoyaki Rainbow had a very quiet year until -DNG- so it was a relief

Yeah, the MV budget looks like it was love but I actually think it was very well executed given that it's basically just them doing the choreo. The camerawork, set (colour palette mostly) and direction were all solid.I'm a bit too tired to go into anything lengthy, but I agree that the Stardust Sisters were standouts this year.

Some more info about the Stardust Idol Festival next year
It seems like the "main event" will be Stardust sisters + Tacoyaki Rainbow
stay gold's coupling song will be a song called "Holiday", written by the CHI-MEY who wrote and composed WEE-TEE-WEE-TEE and composed by CHI-MEY and Tomohiro Okubo. The song will also be the "Momokuri 2019" theme.
I'm expecting the song to be quite different, but we'll see

To sum it up quickly, Kanako looked up to AKB and Tomomi idolized SPEED.

Momoclo will be appearing on Music Fair on the 30th of November!
I hope they're performing stay gold, because so far they haven't actually promoted the song at all. Hopefully we get a MB by the time the physical single releases, too! (Or is it limited to the single?)
Looks like the Momoclo members got a name change
Takagi Reni -> Takagi Uni (Sea urchin)
Momota Kanako -> Momota Katsuo (skipjack tuna)
Tamai Shiori -> Tamai Kura (salmon caviar)
Sasaki Ayaka -> Sasaki Toroka (idk what that means)
According to Momoclo.net, these new names will last for the rest of the year

Kanako Katsuo is acting a bit strange
This is NOT what I remember the choreo being like

Oh right, I forgot to add that I made a Reni thread!
While I was making it I listened to her songs, including some I'd never heard before and they're surprisingly much better than I expected.
There aren't any MVs but as it turns out, they can be found on YT. Right now the thread contains some basic information as well as discography, concert, MV appearance and photoshoot sections but I might add more in the future. I'm open for suggestions!
I'm not really planning on keeping it all that active, it'll probably be a bit like the A-rin thread since Momoclo mostly does groups activities. But it'll hopefully be a good place to find info such as songs, concerts, photoshoots and other news.
