Later today, at 9:30 AM Japan time, Sukkiri to start a 3 day feature on Nizi Project for golden week. Looks like they are gonna have an audience vote on whose performance they want to see most.

RESULTS:

According to the OP's comments, these votes were within 5 MINUTES, 1 vote per person, and this voting was only available in Japan! 105K votes for Riku and 55K votes for Maya in 5 minutes is amazing!

A few things regarding the vote (the OP was kind of down about the results because he's a Maya fan)
- it was apparently done via TV/cable remote?
- Sukkiri!! is a morning show so there is a certain demographic watching it that might not necessarily be the eventual Nizi fanbase
- The vote was taken right after they showed the little behind the scenes human interest training footage.

Ongoing results for the 3rd dcinside poll. They are trying to capture Korean perspective so voting link not advertised on twitter or anything like that. ... maybe JYP should save Ayaka for the next Korean gg. πŸ€”

Someone in the Nizi Project minor gallery in DCInside found some past votings done on Sukkiri. It looks like of the ones they found the high ones have around 80k votes and the Nizi Project one had 160k. Now not sure if they missed some huge ones with a lot of voting done but by this anecdotal evidence it seems like there is a decent amount of interest in the show. For reference one of the votings they found was about Suto Ririka's sudden graduation and marriage announcement on the AKB48 general elections. For those unfamiliar this was a huge deal in Japan made headlines for weeks. That particular one had 83k votes. It is slightly relevant because the age demographic of the people that like and follow Japanese idols is the same as the ones that this group is targeting. Now I wouldn't say it is completely reliable or should be taken as a measure of anything because of several reasons. I don't know when this was done so if it was far removed from the event interest would be much lower. Another reason is J-Idol fans aren't necessarily the people that are gonna follow this group considering it's from a K-pop company and it's very much looking like it will be a K-pop style girl group rather than anything J-Idol like. They may have only shown, deliberately or not, only results favorable to making it seem like the Nizi Project vote had higher voting. Also worth noting more people at home because of the pandemic. Also worth noting how easy voting is so not necessarily everyone that voted has a vested interest in the group or will be a fan later on.

This one has no spoilers for episode 3 so if you watched episode 2 it is spoiler free. If you haven't watched episode 2 it's entirely about it.
Also later today around 9:30 AM Japan time the 2nd spotlight on the show will be on Sukkiri.

Hi again, I'm here commenting on Nizi after a long hiatus. It's rare that I have seen the start of the Nizi Project, but it was not until now that I have been able to see the entire season 1 complete.

I must say that the 13 girls who were selected (except Suzu who does not participate in season 2) I love them. The 13 are talented and now I understand why everyone wants the 13 to debut as one group. And I would really love it to be so. At first, my bias were Mako, Rima, Miihi and Yuna for being JYP trainees, then I added Nina and Rio during the Nizi Project beginnings, and now I also like Maya, Ayaka and Akari, and now also Riku, Momoka, Riria and Mayuka.

And if I were CEO of a company I would consider Plunkett Mei, Marutane Ayane, Kishida Ririka, Taniya Kyoko and Sakurai Miu to debut in a group together.

For those that have seen all 13 performance's any predictions for Post Solo Level Test ranking?

Supposedly additional cube(s) could be given out with input from the trainers taking into account effort, character

Here's my prediction:

1. Miihi
2. Mako
3. Riku
4. Maya

In terms of performance and JYP's reviews seems like there is a big gap between the top 4 and everyone else.
5. Rima - more comfortable than previous performances, still needs refinement all around and clearly isn't ready to write her own material. for an album an experienced rapper needs to write lyrics and help her with flo
6. Rio - vocals are still a ?, would be nice to see her to deliver a great dance performance soon
7. Nina - dance still a ?, how readily will she adapt to learning how to utilize her vocals
8.Yuna - I think she might be the one that JYP is hard on in the teaser clips. "Everyone's growing but you seem to moving backwards". The longest trainee but still having problems converting practice skills to stage performance. Seems like a great teammate
9. Ayaka - seems to have comfort on stage despite low skill level, audience always seems to react positively
10. Mayuka - seemed to deliver an ok performance but uncomfortable performing a solo stage for the 1st time

bottom 3 in risk of last place
11. Riria - JYP seems to question her commitment to get to the condition level (weight mgmt) that he believes idols need to have.
12. Akari - seems like health and conditioning are holding her back
13. Momoka - raw like Ayaka but lacks the strengths and has additional weaknesses

Eng translations for the remaining performance reviews from Sukkiri (translations are in the first comment, except when he forgets to pin them, then you have to scroll down to find them).

edit: Riria and Mako's translations are still pending at the time of this edit.

I agree with your ranking although I think it'll be either Riria or Akari at the bottom with Momoka after both of them as he had higher expectations for those two so they fell harder than Momoka who he seems to be a little kinder to

Individual Test Ranking:
1. Miihi
2. Mako
3. Riku
4. Maya
5. Rima
6. Rio
7. Nina
8. Mayuka
9. Ayaka
10. Yuna

These girls got a white cube for their ranking: Rima, Rio, Nina, Mayuka and Ayaka.

Next test is a team test and here are the groups and songs being performed.

Rio x Maya x Mako - JYP's Swing Baby

Yuna x Riku x Momoka - Twice's Heartshaker

Riria x Akari x Nina x Mayuka - Twice's Dance the Night Away

Ayaka x Miihi x Rima - I.O.I.'s Very Very Very
Looks like the girls went to watch JYP's concert

Interesting that the top 9 gets a cube. It does seem like Nizi is heading towards a 9-member debut. As it stands now, I can definitely see the Individual Level Test Top 9 debuting. The top 5 are IMO locked in, Rio and Nina are pretty much in, so it looks like the battle is pretty much for the last two spots.

1. Swing Baby - Mako, Maya, Rio
2. Very Very Very - Miihi, Rima, Ayaka
3. Heart Shaker - Riku, Yuna, Momoka
4. Dance the Night Away - Nina, Mayuka, Riria, Akari

Hmm.. Team Swing Baby are all top 6, while Team DTNA have quite a few of the lower ranking trainees. Curious to know how the teams were distributed. Akari will need to level up her conditioning to survive DTNA, Nina will need to up her dancing, and Riria picking / getting assigned to one of Twice's toughest dance reminds me of her weight drama - for these 3, the team challenge also seems to be their personal challenges as well. Miihi and Ayaka are in their sweet spot with VeryX3's cute concept. Mako/Maya/Rio have the opportunity to showcase a different side of themselves with Swing Baby. From the distribution of trainees and ranks, looks like Team HS & DTNA will have the greatest challenges in the team mission. But then again, you don't really know how the cards will fall until it's all over.

In the trailer, it seems like JYP was complimenting Akari so the last place finish might have lit a fire in her. She's better with the brighter concept like DTNA anyways and Twice is one of her favs. It seemed from the small clip that Nina was hard carrying the vocals in the song though.

The Swing Baby team should be compelling. I've been waiting for a Mako vs Rio dance showdown. Let's see how these two do in the same group. Expect Maya to give a great stage performance as usual.

Riku is probably going to hard carry the vocals in Heartshaker.

JYPE's Ayaka must debut agenda is moving forward with a soft assignment teaming her up with roomie Miihi and Rima. Ayaka appearance wise looks like she would fit right in with IOI. I wonder how many vocal lines she'll actually get. They hid her quite a bit in S1 Again and Again.

Well, I have to admit that I thought Ayaka's dancing was quite crisp in what little footage we got to see. But not enough there to see her vocal progress, though. Also, Ayaka is the only one with two selfies / non-profile photos up on their official twitter at the moment. :catpopcorn:

Seems like everyone leveled up in next 30-day training period - perhaps they also got over their first performance nerves, as everyone seem to be performing with better, more confident expressions. I'm looking forward to seeing how much they progressed.
