The first line-up announcement for Momoiro Uta Gassen is out!

Momoclo also held their interactive online live "PLAY!", with the first performance of Tsukiiro Chainon and the new song Play!

Sakurai Misato will graduate from Ukka. I believe she's the member at the far end on the right. They'll have a final concert for her on Dec. 28th.



Natalie posted a bunch of photos from the PLAY live. Not high res, but the "も ." fan account on twitter has the really big pics. I love how creative they got with this show. They even got the actor who played Jackie Chan in XyX! The concept was that each performance would be like it's own MV.



Not sure how long this will be up. It's highlights from the show.

I happen to notice that TokiSen's YouTube views have gone up considerably. Current view count for their Avex MVs.

- Tokimeki Sendenbu's Victory Story: 170k
- Koi no Shape Up (regular): 150k
- Koi no Shape Up (dance practice): 248k
- Tomorrow Saikyou-setsu: 471k
- I'm The Number One Girl (dance practice): 108k
- Endless: 120k

I don't know why, but "Tomorrow Saikyou-setsu" really blew up. Endless has only been out for a couple weeks and it's already getting close to the total views for the regular ver. of "Shape Up". Also, if you combine the regular and dance versions of "Shape Up", then that's 398k! I'm not sure how to explain the increase. "Number One Girl" even hit 100k and it never got a regular MV. TokiSen's been pretty consistent on the streaming charts so I'm glad to see their views catch up. Maybe being on Avex is the deciding factor. The new Tokimeki Lemon, Suda Aki, joined for the release of "Tomorrow...", so it's possible that helped. She and Julia got allot of focus in the MV for Endless, so maybe their management knows something I don't. Anyway, I just thought this was interesting and wanted to share it. I hope this trend continues as they're the only non Stardust Sisters group doing this well with views.

Shiori was in close contact to someone with covid, so she'll be suspending activities and quarantining until Dec. 20th. She has no symptoms. I've reread the article several times and there's no indication she tested positive and this is just a precaution.

The other 3 members of Momoclo were tested and none of them were positive. They're aren't considered to have close contact, so they'll likely still be active.



On a lighter note, they're releasing a ton of photocards for the Chainon single. However, each card is available through a different store/site. Thankfully, I've done some investigating and the 4 sites carrying the Kanako and Shiori cards all ship internationally. Haven't looked into the Arin or Reni cards yet. I'll probably spend the next week setting up accounts to pre-order.





They just keep giving me more options for desktop wallpapers.



I'm not sure where this pic was taken. It's probably from the PLAY livestream since I think that's the only live perf of Chainon to date.

The Chainon photos look great! Speaking of that last Chainon photo: Momoclo will make their first televised performance of the song on BS 11's "Anison Days" on the 18th, and that's where it's from! The episode was recorded a while ago so it was the first time they performed it.



They will also perform "Ojamajo Carnival", the opening of Ojamajo Doremi.

I hope she's fine, even if there's nothing indicating that she's contracted the virus so far I think it's for the best that she quarantines herself. It's something I've been thinking about during the last few days. Covid cases have increased in Japan recently, and Momoclo have a few events/concerts in December and January. Most notably Momoiro Uta Gassen which will have a lot of performers. So there has to be a lot of caution involved and special care has to be taken before and after these events so that the risk of anyone being infected among the performers is minimized.


Speaking of those events, today AYAKARNIVAL 2020 was held! It was livestreamed on nicovideo but I was sleeping, so I missed it
I'm sure there will be some YT uploads though, just like last year. And like last year there were collaborations which I'm looking forward to seeing!

Remember how I said that Suda Aki might have been part of the reason TokiSen's MV views have increased? Well, I might be on the right track. Yahoo Japan posted this interview with her titled:

"Suda Aki, the cutest and most talked about Idol in the Reiwa era"

I'm not sure if this is accurate or just Yahoo hyping her up for the interview. I'm not sure, but it's possible Aki is saying this about herself, so it could just be innocent self promotion. It's a long interview, but I'm going to try and translate some of it before the end of the year.



Edit: I caught the last few minutes of a livestream that Aki and Haruka did the other day and I couldn't resist making this supercut real quick. Aki's cuteness is on full display. Haruka joins in at the end.

Shiori is the latest Momoclo member to be on the cover of photography magazine CAPA

And Aarin is the cover model for the latest issue of LARME

It looks like those plastic face screens idols/celebrities wear have evolved!


It looks a bit uncomfortable but seems more effective.

Just a quick update. Stardust Planet had two Birthdays. TokiSen's Suda Aki turned 16 and Awww!'s Kimino Maika turned 19.

Aki held a very long livestream and was joined towards the end by her group members. She got a bunch of presents from them like Pokuncho cookies, perfume, eye shadow, and some fancy soap.





I don't know how much of a big deal it is, but Aki's hashtag for her B-day #菅田愛貴16歳おめでとう is listed on this site in the "HOT Word" category for trending. I tried to get more specific info, but the site is a little hard to navigate. Anyway, it's nice to know fans are sending her birthday wishes.

Instead of a livestream, Maika held a Birthday Live for a small group of fans.



She must have held a handshake meeting afterwards because there's a special set up for it. This is the first time I've seen covid precautions like this for a fan meeting.

Good news: Shiori has tested negatively for the corona virus and will be returning to activities!
And shortly after the news, she appeared on a Youtube video with Sakurako Ohara (probably recorded much earlier). In the video they bake a Bûche de Noël cake.

I've never seen anything like that handshake meeting either, I think most of them have been changed to online meetings, at least for 48G.

Taconiji's Hori Kurumi also turned 20 a few days ago and yesterday the group held their Christmas concert

Momoclo just released a digest video of the Natsu no Bakasawagi streaming live, it features performances of 3 songs: Kasou Dystopia, Kibou No Mukou E and Lady May.



And they uploaded this intermission video from the concert



The second line-up for Momoiro Uta Gassen will be presented on Wednesday the 23rd btw

The latest Momoclo chanto had Yukipoyo/Yuki Kimura as a guest, so the theme was "Gyaru". This was a great opportunity for Aarin to work towards her goal of gyarufying herself.

Aarin has also been on TV a bit lately! First she took part in a TV show where they travelled/walked 100 km? Seems like there were different sets of guests and Aarin was part of about half the episode

They were shown several clips of food, she seemed to love some

Momoclo will release a best-of album on the 24th of February! "Masahiro Tanaka" will include all the Tanaka cheer songs as well as some other older tracks, including Hashire! ZZ ver and the overture.
